Only if you're a bit dim. He's still average as feck. Everyone in this thread has already watched him score the odd good goal before.
Yep - must Be right. Try triple downing. I heard that is in vogue right now

What Lingard did tonight is exactly what I expect from a Manchester United squad player. If he can do that more often, there would be no issues.

Important goal for us - he keeps contributing.

As a squad player I don't know what more you can expect really.

Surprised he didn't reveal a t shirt saying "that's for a small portion of you lot, Redcafe haters"

Not only a brilliant goal, but at the most perfect time, just when we were doing our best to ruck it up.

Clinching the game, away from home, with a run from inside his own half is what you expect from a squad player on a regular basis?

I can see why people get frustrated with him, he shows moments of sheer class but hasn't yet consistently put it together, but I have no idea why he gets so much genuine, outright hate from 'fans'.

A player who scored an absolute worldie to win us out first bit of silverware post-Fergie and always gives his all for the shirt should have far more credit in the bank. This forum gives more leniency (and has in the past) to players who deserve it far less.

The one thing I don't like is the media profile of players. Jesse is still developing. He does earn too much for his output. In his position, he NEEDS to get into double figures for goals and assists and as of yet, that isn't happening. Great goal tonight but he's very capable of scoring. He's just lacking something to take him to the next level. Maybe he needs the desire to be more selfish I don't know.

Are you saying that no squad player has ever scored a great goal for United? I'm obviously not expecting that from him on a regular basis, but there's a difference between squad players that are there to just make up numbers, and squad players that are genuinely good enough to contribute in a title race.

He is still crap!!!
I'm not his biggest fan and have had a pop at him on a lot of occasions but give him a bit of credit that was a fantastic goal and he loves the club and is United through and through
Also very interesting to hear what scholes and Rio had to say about him they rate him VERY highly

Only if you've never seen average players capable of good goals now and again.

Fecking Luis Garcia was the definition of this.

And it's not even a bloody insult. Average is fine.

Terrible thread. Played well tonight and what a goal, but the jury remains out until he has 5-6 good games in a row which doesn't happen with Lingard unfortunately. He has great moments like today, but then tends to go missing for 7-8 games. He has a good chance to kick on now though.

Not his biggest fan but has a tendancy to score screamers.

How is he going to have 5-6 good games in a row when he doesn’t even get to play?

Perhaps, just perhaps the reason he went missing for 7-8 games is because he’s actually not on the pitch??
