Watching some Arsenal's games vs Top 6 this season, i think they are not innocent pinky team anymore. They coped very well with defensive team waiting as usually for Arsenal's mistakes, surely i was impressed with the way they handled Chelsea - solid defence, intensive and dangerous on counter-attacks right at Stamford Bridge early this term.

They has improved, you can see the proof that Arsenal did not terribly drop form down in November - the time they were surrounded by cumulative fixtures in End-of-the-year marathon plus also decisive period vs final European group stage matches, with 3 win / 4 matches over last Premier League month - they was not the vulnerable team quickly collapsing like their system error recent years.

Jose's record vs Wenger is also not still good. Just 1 win and had been beaten twice / last 4 matches, he is not going to risk attacking at Emirates. So maybe a tight game when a glimpse of flashing moment will decide the fate of the match, otherwise, an acceptable draw for both sides. Another Tottenham game - my assumption

A must-win game. Every PL game is a cup final with 8 points behind.

    3-4-1-2 / 3-4-2-1

    ------Lindelof---Smalling---Rojo----
    Valencia----Pogba---Matic----Young
    -----------------Rashford------------
    -----------Lukaku------Martial-------

    or

    ----Rashford-------------Martial-----
    ---------------Lukaku----------------

We simply need to keep on winning. If we lose, chelsea and arsenal will be on our tails and we will lose sight of city. Think this will be tight, giroud usually scores against and they are playing well as theya re doing just 1 game a week with their main team. Think we will edge it though.
    Arsenal 1-3 Man united
    (giroud) (Martial,Pogba,Lukaku)

Nonsense. Arsenal will walk this. They'll score 4 or 5 and we can give up on the league.
You seem to be waiting for it going by your post. Based on fecking what will Arsenal spank 5 past us?

You'll win this easily. Arsenal are shite and Jose has Wenger's number.
I'd be a sight more confident if Matic were fit and available for selection. With that in mind I'd happily accept a draw, problem is a draw does us no favours in the title race.

Predicting a 0-0 borefest similar to the Liverpool game earlier in the season. It will make for painful viewing.

Yep, the last two times Arsenal were on one of their beast runs, we lost 3-0 (LvG) and 2-0 (Jose). Though the latter defeat was more due to us throwing away the league for the EL.

But the most telling thing about both those defeats was the ease with which Arsenal, on a winning run and in confident form, bullied our midfield, which was key to them scoring at will. Doesn't do much to ease my nerves over Herrera.
Don’t know what game you were watching.

We were in complete control in that 2-0. fecked up a few counters and then Xhaka out of nowhere scores a lucky deflected goal.

We also battered them at Old Trafford last season but they scored a last min equaliser thanks to Giroud.

We rested a few players at the Emirates as well. Battered them at OT. Giroud .

Big chance to crank some pressure up on City. If we play for a draw it's essentially a pressure free chance for City to extend the league. They've had a few tough games now when we've played and won first.

There is ALOT of negativity on this forum these days!
Ha ha ... You’d think we are a mid table team still managed by Moyes! I really think this game is the one that should finally put a stop to the doom and gloomers. We’ll see.

Dont think we will play for the draw, the gaps already quite big.

Saw the Express' Arsenal-United combined eleven, and I think they've got it nailed on.

    De Gea

    Valencia Bailly Koscielny Monreal

    Matic Pogba
    Sanchez_________Martial

    Lukaku

Some will argue that Young should be in there, and by current form - he should to be fair. Other than that, looks dece.

Anywho - big match. Annoying that City plays after us here. I hope for a similar team to the one we played vs Watford. Counter the shit out of them and we'll win.

He’s really not been up to much for a while now, lost his early season form completely.

I'm glad we play first, we struggled like mad when we played 2nd and had the pressure put on us to win. Also, City haven't looked as convincing when having to play after us in the last 2 games. Hopefully the 3rd time is the one that we can benefit from.

But City face Moyes led West Ham the next day. Couldn't have asked for an easier game before the derby.

A win vs Arsenal today would go a long way in "erasing" the loss vs Huddersfield. A loss would make it even more significant.

All depends on our approach for me. If we go ultra negative and play for 0-0 (Anfield like) the chances are they'll nick a goal and we'll then spend the last ten minutes actually having a go, in an attempt to save the game. If that happens, my foot will be going through the telly. We have the pace and the players to attack teams; we've scored four on eight occasions when we've had a go at sides. We can get at this Arsenal team; let's not invite them onto us in their own ground. I want Jose to have an attacking mindset today. I don't mean kamikaze style, but don't sit back and park the bus.

I think the front three should be Ozil - Sanchez - Martial.

Sanchez showed amazing goal-scoring form when Wenger played him up top early last season. Then his son Olivier, while playing as a sub, somehow scored some lucky goals including the one in style of Mkhitaryan scorpion king, Wenger comfortably dragged Alexis back permanently to left flank, Arsenal's season was officially over from that genius moment

Have you seen our away record against the top sides since Fergie finished? It's grim stuff. We need to start going to the Emirates, Etihad, Anfield, Stamford Bridge, White Hart Lane and start manning up. It hasn't been good enough.

Arsenal tend to work harder than United this season: more distance covered and more sprints. In this regard, they are second only to City among the top 6. It was similar with Watford though. After we scored 3 goals I wondered whether their work rate matters at all. And then they made it difficult in the last 30 minutes. Fortunately, their defence is terrible and made it easier for us. They conceded 17 goals in 4 games vs United, City, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Arsenal aren't that bad in defence. Think we have to score in the first half. If United don't match their work rate, the second half will be a bit one sided as it was vs Liverpool and Chelsea.

Yeah he has looked a little laboured the last few games but the alternatives do not fill me with much confidence. Herrera has barely featured all season and Blind is mediocre in the role.

Matic could probably use a rest but we need him for the Arse and City games, the latter in particular.

You're right. There's 10 players in that line up  Ozil was there behind Lukaku.
