Yeah right. We have lots of keyboard warriors over here who knows everything and basically deluded themselves that they would be happy with no trophies only if we play attacking football. It's not gonna happen and we all know it. If we sack Jose and hire some joke managers like Tuchel or Sarri like many of you suggest, the moment we don't win even playing attacking football, you are going to be the first to want him gone as well. That's how it is. You really underestimate the mess Jose inherited from Moyes and LVG. Our squad was probably the most unbalanced in the league and full of mediocre overpriced players stealing a living. Everton tried to fix all their problems splashing money, it worked great, didn't it? It's not so easy as you think, stop playing FM, FIFA or whatever and just think for a second.
It's not about attacking football versus winning. That's false logic.
I ask you only a few questions - think about our competitors (ie the ones we really need to beat to win the big trophies) . Are they preparing their teams and players to play the Mourinho way ? Are they looking at United and thinking " I wish we could learn how to play like that "? Or are they looking at City and thinking "these guys are a real threat" ?
Ultimately United will stand or fall on the basis of the quality , bravery and skill of their football in big games. We will not beat the Bayerns of this world playing fear based hoofball in our own half. You think for a second . Is mou picking up the threads from LVG and Moyes ? Yes. Is he making the best of a bad job? Yes. Is he still a good manager ? Yes. Will he take us any further than minor cups and 3rd place? A resounding NO.
Will we be able to pass the ball confidently ,quickly and positively in Turin under the floodlights? How is Mourinho preparing us for this? How will be able to pass the ball creatively and throw men forward on the break in Paris or at OT in the CL QF if what we are practising is mindless hoofball. It's one thing to beat Everton away but we need to be able to do it against the really good teams - and what happens when we meet a good team ? We retreat into our own box and cower with fear in the hope that hoofing it up to Lukaku will be enough - well it ain't gonna work against Bayern. These other teams around us are learning , and have learnt , that you can be positive and attacking and it's also very very effective. MORE effective than sitting way too deep in your own box relying on your world class goal keeper to bail you out.
I'd be happier with a Tuchel or Sarri that was building for the future games with the elite than Mourinho who is satisfied with crushing West Ham but then being cowardly against City.
You see , what you don't understand is that I want trophies and results
more than you do. I object to park the bus hoofball mainly because it just doesn't work not because its boring. Football has moved on. These top teams that are playing in very different ways than Mourinho is aren't doing it because they want to look pretty . They are practising for success , not failure. They recognise that good quality and positive football is what wins matches not fear based anti football. Sure they all know how to sit back and counter attack but they try and do it very differently to how we do it.
It's not me that's deluded it's you that's deluded if you think you can take on the elite with hoofball. At the end of the day every team has it's day of reckoning when they stand of fall on how good a footballing team they are. The teams that pass and move at speed with precision , flair and confidence will come out on top. With Mourinho ultimately we will be found wanting in big games , so please stop making this about FIFA PS4 - it's a serious problem and I have thought very deeply about it.
It's always , always , always about the quality of and kind of football you want to try and play.
