Anyone going to the French league and to PSG isn't going for any other reason than money. May as well be playing in China with the exception of getting in the CL.
Disagree, they have the necessary resources and squad to compete for the CL, which is attractive for players.

Captain hindsight posters can keep pretending PSG wasn't a favorite before the season. It didn't work out for them yet again, but I doubt that was Nasser's last try and there will be further investment.

It isn't really.

If they'd been put out to Roma, Shakhtar, Porto, Basel or Sevilla perhaps. They lost to Real Madrid. Some people need a bit of perspective.
Real weren't even at full throttle today. PSG on paper have a team capable of beating Real. It is a combination of poor management, inexperience and lack of leadership that cost them.

They haven't got past the quarter finals since Qatar took over. It is a poor return on investment no matter who they have played.
Regarding City, the return on investment is much much poorer over the last 10 years.

RM, Chelsea, City and Barca are all quality sides and there's no shame in losing to them.
There is when youve spent a billion euros in 6 years on players.

This isnt “plucky PSG battling against the odds”, this is Oil money PSG can spend what they like, on who they like, who have spent a combined €418 million euros on strikers alone in the summer.

Its bullshit, you know its bullshit.

Mbappe was very underwhelming. Couldn't get his crosses right and looked a bit too conservative compared to last season.

The thing is, you're talking like RM haven't spent billions on their team either ffs. It's two billionaire sides battling it out and ultimately RM's team worth billions is better than PSG's one.

Really ? I know truth hurts anyway.
Why would it hurt? Your need to be demining is just weird, it doesn't serve your point. Last year it was easier for Monaco because of a crap league, this year it is harder for PSG because a crap league. PSG are the only one at fault, they are the ones bottling it at every occasion, every time someone pushes them they lose Montpellier and Monaco did it.

They'll be fine. Madrid did the exact same thing, broke the transfer record twice in the same window and it took them 5 seasons to get to a Champions League final. Obviously PSG started from a better position but it was always going to take time, unlucky with the draw and with Neymar's injury.

You must be kidding yourself if you think French league isn't actually a terrible one, or at least at the bottom of all other top leagues in Europe. It's a league no one outside France will care to watch a single match in it and last 6 years PSG won 5 of them with nearly zero competition. If this isn't a definition of a terrible league then I don't know what it's actually.

If you think I was offensive regarding your country, Ok, I apologize then, but that doesn't change the opinion about French league at all tbh, an opinion I'm pretty sure shared by many.

When did I said the league is responsible for PSG bottling it btw ? I was talking on a different aspect. Till now their only success was in their league that has almost zero competition most of seasons, so that's their own level at the moment till they prove they can be considered one of the top clubs by putting some fight and defeat other big teams in KO stages.

Tomorrow in the press: Mourinho, Pep, Conte, Pochettino, Zidane, Enrique, Simeone, Ancellotti, Sarri, Allegri, Klopp and a dozen others each quoted as "number 1 priority" to replace Emery by various papers around Europe.

What are you on about, they have been been buying and failing with top talent for years now.
Instead of top, I would say B-Tier, at best. The kind of players that the biggest clubs didn't want. Pretty much like City some seasons ago.

Exactly. The first step they need to make is to get rid of this useless Emery. Spending the money is all good but you need a tactical mind to actually form a cohesive unit with that talent. It'll come eventually.

Do you know what terrible is?

There are leagues in most European countries, if you were to rank them from top to bottom, the French league would be near the top. I'm not sure how anyone could watch Ligue 1 and think it's terrible. That's a pretty strong classification that doesn't have merit by any objective measure.

Poch is a former Player so maybe that's a pull?
Whoever they get is just a place holder for Pep anyway.
doubt Pep would go there. Can see him retiring after City tbh. EPL gives him the biggest exposure and city is literally geared towards him.

PSG have a problem now because they are in a situation where the only thing that matters is the CL.

I think some people are ignoring the fact that Real Madrid played without Modric and Kroos, and I am not sure I ever saw them starting any serious game without one of them, especially both. And they still outplayed them on their pitch. Real Madrid are a strong team, but I am not sure they would beat some other top teams without these two. PSG were simply shite.

Simple question : Do you think they're a better league from any aspect than Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga and Premier League ? These are the top leagues in Europe. Unless you're going to compare them the Portuguese league or something.

Yup. This defeat says nothing about the league. Just that PSG are full of weak ass players when the pressur is truly on.

B tier? They signed Thiago Silva when he was considered the best CB in the world. Zlatan when he was considered the best 9 in the world. Some of the best prospects about at the time: Pastore, Verrati, Marquinhos and Lucas. Signed other big money players like Di Maria, Cavani, Luiz and Draxler.

They have been shopping at the top of the market for years.

You see that's the thing Ligue 1 is the 5th league in world and closer to Serie than it is to the 6th. That's why it's not a crap or terrible league, there are better leagues but you don't go from very good to crap.

Don't know why they got rid of Blanc. He was great for them. Might be one or two international managers available after the Russia world cup such as Joachim Low. Allegri might be interested. Then that Lazio manager is highly rated.

And the interesting part is that this super attack force that PSG have, was worth nothing against a great team like RM, because the team is so poorly balanced. I learned this long time ago while playing fifa on my ps :) A too offensive team will not score. None of the super trio scored in the first game and Cavani got a lucky deflection goal in the second game.

All French teams out at this stage says something about the league though.
Nah, it's been the same. French clubs are doing alright in the EL for instance. Teams are playing at their level. PSG calibrated themselves for the CL but didn't raise for the occasion.
Juventus dominates the Serie A for so many years and they have done much better than PSG in the CL for the past 5-6 years.
It's all about preparing teams for the right moment to step up.
1 team doesn't make an entire league I am sorry

If you're the last one in the list of the other top leagues in Europe, does that mean it's a good one ? It's like coming sixth in a race that has 6 racers. Comparison should be with the other top leagues in Europe that everyone watch and I don't see French league stand a chance against them, either competition wise or popularity or both.
