They have the title won ffs. The game they play after us is much more important for them.
Yes, but it would mean a lot for them to win it against us, tgey are out to knock us down. Pep can also use a win against us to fire up his team for the CL game.

They wanted to leave this news to come out as late as possible in order to feck us over maximally for the derby or something?

I think theres a few ways of interpreting it, the one which strikes true to me is Raiola offered Pogba to City, most likely purely with he intent of getting him a better offer. People seem to be thinking that because Raiola offered him it means United or even Pogba offered himself. Personally I've always thought Raiola was a shifty git and wouldn't put it past him too do something like this. I don't even think it's technically that bad a thing to do, even though yes it'd be annoying if i was a United fan, but the idea of shopping a player round to increase his value/standing in contract negotiations is probably standard practice, doing it without the player knowing however.

Should Pep have brought it up? Probably not, bigger man and all that, but its a pretty good way to get everyone mad at Raiola if the offer was done behind Pogba and United's back, which I suspect is what Pep was going for

It is of course possible its all bullshit from Pep but i would've thought Raiola would've straight out denied it and frankly its a pretty outlandish thing to say if its a lie, also I guess I'd be slightly surprised he knew rail was Mikh's agent off the top of his head?

Ducker is a fair journo but it's the only rational explanation.
Pep is trying to get back at Raiola by embarrassing him. Man Utd and Pogba are just casualties of that.

He has admitted he contacted city about the players. With the caveat he didn't speak to Pep, which makes the whole thing ok
Actually he never commented on whether he has offered Pogba or any United player to City.

Only that when he does offer players of any club to them, it is always to City rather than Pep.

I think this has a 90% chance of being true. The fact that Guardiola specifically named players is what makes a stronger case for it. Because Raiola could definitely go after Guardiola from a legal point of view if he completely made it up.

Clubs speak to agents all the times about availability of players and vice versa so agents know what they can get for their client. It's poor form to say it publically the day before playing against the team of the player.

For example, I'm pretty certain Mourinho or our club would have spoken to say Willian or Alderweireld's agent. It would be disrespectful and Mourinho would be hammered if he said the day before United-Chelsea/Spurs that we'd spoken and been offered the player (players get "offered" by agents all the time to assess what deal their clients can get elsewhere) in question.

Guardiola is a tit.

Agents often shop their clients around without their knowledge. Players find out when offers are made.

He said something along the lines of 'I don't know, you should ask City whether they went after Sanchez'. Which I think is a reference to them leaking all the details of his contract to the press, which they wouldn't have had if they weren't competing for Sanchez.
Fair enough

I don't believe for a second that Pogba wasn't 100% aware of what his cnut agent was doing.

If this is true, how could Raiola possibly think we'd sell Pogba to City? I mean it, it's one of those transfers that would never be sanctioned regardless of what happened between pogba and jose. We'd tell him to find a different club or stay at home collecting the pay cheque.
keeping a 90m player on the books is utter madness. If City give can give us 150m+ then we should definitely consider moving him on. No point keeping a disgruntled player just to prove a point.

Yes, Simon Stone had lots of 'exclusives' during that time, all detailing what City had offered and what United had offered. So replying in that way to him makes sense.

I suspect this happens far more often than we realise. Selling a player means a big payoff for the agent so they will always agitate for it in the hope they can at least push the club with the asset into a new contract for their client which they will also get paid from.

Standard practice by an agent. If you consider it, the only clubs who could afford pogba’s transfer fee and wages, it would be: City, PSG, Madrid and Barca (doubt Bayern would be willing). So with Pogba approaching the halfway mark of his contract, and Alexis coming in at a higher wage, it’s time to start getting the market rate for his star client.

Wouldn't it be nice if United won the derby, and announced a contract renewal for Pogba shortly after. I'm aware it's a pipe dream, because we'll probably park the bus to a brave and hard fought 1-0 loss.

Don’t believe for a minute Pogba was offered to City.
Pogba can feck off along with Raiola. We'll hardly miss his substandard performances and hopefully get someone in who doesn't need x, y and z to perform to the best of his ability.

Did Lukaku dump Raiola? He signed with another company.

Well, I hope so.

Guardiola is a tool.

Raoila is a snake.

Pogba is going nowhere.

People will draw so many conclusions from this.

The UK journos losing their minds about the embargo is hilarious.

Well the fact that Pep was happy to let this out shows that they have no interest in Pogba and hard to think who would pay that sort of money for the inconsistent Pogba.

When you factor in Mkhitaryan being offered just smacks of Raiola just phoning around and seeing if he could get a nice payday because there's no way a top team would watch Mkhitaryan at United and think he's worth throwing money at. Also if they were offered two months ago, the timing seems a little off. Giving Pep the benefit of the doubt with timing you'd say this would have to be early to mid January because Mkhitaryan was packaged for Sanchez at the end of the January window. If that's the case it makes no sense that Pogba would be unhappy as until the Spurs game at Wembley, which was after the window was closed, he was doing very well.

Wow, this Pep can do no wrong with some of our fans. Do you guys think SAF will do such a thing on the eve of a game with the said club? Regardless of what is going on between him and Raiola, he should not have mentioned the player names.

Do you think Pogba deserves an improved contract at this stage?

Di Marzio really is something, he has connections in all the right places it seems.
