Couple of early Roma goals and I’ll stick with it. I have no desire to watch Liverpool do well.

Agree with all that, but to be fair, there's something about Real Madrid and the CL.

Even the rest of the super clubs don't come anywhere close to that lot. Barca & Bayern are both on 5, better than us, but a long long way behind Madrid.
Oh I agree and they deserve the plaudits for their extraordinary record in the competition.

And we ourselves were stung by the fact that in the era in which we reached 3 finals in 4 years, that Barcelona team were at their peak.

United have achieved so much in recent decades and the only remaining 'monkey on the back' is our European record. I'd just love us to find our feet in the competition and be able to point to more European cups as testament to our standing in world football.

All relative of course, Juve only have two. But when you grow up supporting United, ambition knows no bounds.

That Barcelona only got to the final in 2009 due to the corruption/extreme incompetence of one Ovebro.

2011 they were miles better.

Definitely would like to see Cristiano beat up on Liverpool for old time's sake.
A hat-trick in the final, and he can do "5 times la" to the Scousers at the end of the game.

What I’m getting from this thread is;

Don’t want city to win the PL because “pep”
Don’t worry city won’t get to the final in the CL so support Liverpool
Don’t worry Madrid will smash Liverpool in the final
Oh I don’t want Madrid to win the final because 3 in a row or because I’m jealous they bought Ronaldo

‘Kin hell. Just get your Liverpool tops bought now then lads

Disgrace

Anyone who thinks that Real winning the CL is as bad as those stinking, murdering, phlegm ridden, shell suit wearing, tin foil trophy covered scumbags winning it, then they really don't understand anything about being a Manchester United fan.
Murderers??

That is one of the vilest, most disgusting things I have ever seen on any football site.

And someone quoted you agreeing with it, staggering mentality.

Cheering for Liverpool in the Finals, solely because they are the lesser evil (and much as I hate to admit, I like Salah and Mane). Real winning will only embolden them to continue with their slimy tapping up of other stars, some of who may be ours (DDG). We have to keep sight of our goal to rebuild towards becoming one of Europe's best once more, and to do that, we need a core of at least 5-7 truly world class players. Madrid (and Barca) already have a built-in advantage on South American prospects thanks to the language and culture, and RM winning another one will only increase their drawing power EVEN further.

Liverpool winning it for the 6th time (la) doesn't hurt as much when you remember the gap between the two Manchester-based clubs and them plus the London trio.

If you're a United fan i don't see how that's the case at all.

There is no bigger evil in the footballing world than Liverpool winning a trophy.

If any of you cocsuckers want Liverpool to win and still call yourself a United fan then you need to check into a mental hospital because no sane United fan ever wants those scum sucking, bin dipping, inbred ingrates to ever win a trophy.

I double down on this.

I'd like to type a post stating that my support for Manchester United is stronger than my hate for Liverpool, but I'd just be kidding myself.

The dark side rages inside of me. I would feebly give up an F.A Cup win for a Ronaldo hattrick. Or a 1-0 victory courtesy of a 97th minute offside Sergio Ramos handball. Anything at all. Maybe they can cancel the match?

I was in Istanbul back in '05 with a couple of Scouse mates. Part of a Euro holiday jolly. Nothing could be worse than that but I'd rather not re-live it again with the same mates from afar.

I'm even thinking about betting a load of cash on Liverpool to win just so something positive comes out of a Scouse victory.
The first half was alright, :D.

Any United fan who wants Liverpool to win just don’t understand what being a Manchester United fan means.

I have a horrible feeling they’ll win it, but praying that Ronaldo gets a hat trick and Ramos two foots Klopp.

Anyone who wants Liverpool to win is an ABU, there's no getting away from that.

Roma should score as early as possible to have any chance. That is the key. Of course the game wont probably go like Barca won. Even if Roma scores first they'll huff and puff to score a 2nd and Liverpool will be dangerous from the counter and probably score one at least to end Roma's dreams.
If Roma could do it I would be a very happy man. :)

They wont tho.

I assume Salah is causing a lot of problems for Egyptian United supporters, or is it just you?

If Salah was from my country, I'd want him to do well in the national team and flop with Liverpool. Kinda like what the Argentinians do, but in reverse. Ain't that hard.:)

It's quite hard regarding this comparison, as Argentine have loads of great players around while Salah is our only icon in Europe. If Salah flopped, we won't have any top players in Europe. You need to consider that for ages our most knows player in Europe was Mido with all his problems. At this time we were on the moon when he scored 11 goals with Spurs in the league so imagine the difference now.

I want him to do well and I'm really happy and proud of what he had done but at the same time want Liverpool to win feck all. I think most Egyptians United supporters think the same. For the neutral Egyptians, they don't give a feck if Liverpool win or not they only care about Salah getting his goals each game.

City scored an early goal and then another some 20 minutes later, only for it to be incorrectly ruled out for God knows what. At literally every stage of the competition to date, Liverpool have had practically all the important decisions go in their favour. At some point you would expect their good fortune to run dry, preferably tonight.

Ronaldo will take care of them.
And after he scores that match-winning double hatrick, he will inform the world that he is returning home.

That's the dream isn't it?

Whole thing is mental. A scouser on a United forum first and foremost is something I can’t understand. A scouser who’s never seen the word ‘murderer’ associated with their club. Not even playing the victim, they’re genuinely offended.

Forza Roma.

Hopefully, in the final, Ronaldo will not have a game like one of those semi finals and actually touch the ball a few times.

Well here I am, one of those people you describe, so please educate me. Why is wanting Liverpool to win the CL mutually exclusive with being a United fan?

Because they're our biggest rivals. One of the fundamental tenets of football is that you don't want your arch-rivals to win things.

He's the perfect example of "offended by everything, ashamed of nothing".

The only thing that's vile is their fanbase.

How can you be a United fan and ask a question like this???
You're just assuming that that is a part of being a fan though, but that's not necessarily the case. When I started watching United when I was around about age 10 I just watched every game and read everything I could about the team and was really happy after every win and pretty sad after a loss or draw. I was emotionally invested in the team - still am. That's what being a fan of something is. Nowhere does it say I can't prefer Liverpool to beat Roma and Real. I don't think some of you see how insanely tribalistic some of your casual football views are.

I'm in the minority, I hope Liverpool piss all over Real Madrid in the final. They're the lesser of the two evils, I like Salah and don't mind Klopp, long gone are the days of cnuts like Gerrard, Lucas, Carragher, Skrtle and Suarez.

Hoping against logical hope that Roma turf them out tonight.

Real Madrid or Liverpool. Like the choice between having your bollocks nailed to the table or stapled to it. Would have to go with Madrid to stop the summer-long love in with all things LFC in the press.

If Liverpool win the CL then they have a legitimate claim to being the most successful English side of all time. We may have 2 more league titles but then having twice the CLs more than overcomes the gap.

Sound logic there. Like the part about South American prospects which probably most people missed. It is absolutely vital they don't go from 12 to 13.

That is part of being a United fan.

Not only is it not acceptable to want Liverpool to win, it's downright ABU behavior.
