It's SAF. He always come back stronger with every adversity. Rebounded after Arsenal/Wenger to win treble, rebounded after Chelsea/Mourinho to win double, rebounded after City/$$$ to win no.20. He will recover from this and probably invent time travel or something. It's SAF for feck sake. He overcomes everything, I grew up watching him do that time and again.

That is not accurate. There are many different types of brain hemorrhage. Brain hemorrhage is a layman term which could encompass anything from epidural hematoma to subdural hematoma to SAH. You can also have an intraparenchymal bleed and with SAH or intraparenchymal you can have intraventricular extension. Surgical intervention can be needed for both intraparenchymal or intraventricular bleed or of course SAH.
The reason I ask if we know aneurysm is our management of SAH from an aneurysm is fairly well defined. A spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage, or hypertensive intraparenchymal hemorrhage are slightly less clear cut in terms of management options.

He is someone's father, brother, husband and / or grandfather. Hope he gets back to full health soon.
Hard for me to look anything other football related and to think about it atm. I'm trying to be optimistic about his recovery, but just the thought that he is in such a state is heartbreaking.
He gave everything and then much more to this club, to us, retiring at the age of 71 which is nothing short of incredible. At this point, I am just wishing and praying his wife and family can enjoy his retirement for many years to come. Keep fighting, Boss.

This just gets me every time. It's like being at school again. I doubt anybody has the ability to command the respect of a dressing room like SAF did. He really is a father figure.

He's my idol in this sport. You see some people, especially fans of rival teams say some stupid things but it's just acceptance with Fergie about how great he was and how respected he was. The respect and love all of his players have for him speaks volumes. His genius as a manager came down to his decision making, his intensity and drive but also he had that ability to have people buy into him and do anything for him. You've got to be a great and genuine human to command that level of respect and love.

He's literally up there with the most inspiring and iconic historical figures for me. Everything about him resonates a magnificent aura, and his achievemens over such a sustained period with all the doubts he must have overcome and all the adversity he fought is breathtaking when I think about it. The lessons and principles we can take from his life, transcend the sporting arena, as profound wisdom we can live by.

. feck me this is tough. never really gave it thought. jjust assumed he will always be here. Hes one hell of a human being. Scotland dont have many things football related to celebrate. So glad that the Greatest manager who ever lived was a ScotsmanI'm a City seasoncard holder - a lifelong blue. Putting football aside, I just wanted to express that my thoughts are with Sir Alex, his family and you guys. I know what the great man means to you all. A principled guy - a football genius who understands how young people tick and how to motivate them - colossal intellect. The first guy on the phone giving support when a manager gets fired. I lost my mum to a brain hemorrhage in the early 1970s, but treatment is massively better now. Thankfully, so far all the signs are as positive as they can be. Sir Alex has a strong physical constitution and that will help. But news like this does put things into perspective - what's important and what isn't.

It's strange. Even though I know SAF is a man like the rest of us and he's getting up there in age, something like this just never entered the mind as a possibility. For so many of us he was a constant presence while we were growing up, and someone we would look up to like a grandfather. Hoping he can pull through this with the same strength of mind and determination that he instilled in his teams. Get well Sir Alex.

I was almost surprised at how much emotion it stirred in me. And I'm not a 'celeb' type of person really, at all.
But Fergie is an anomalous character, who has taught us so much with the way he would address us as fans.
His wisdom of following your dreams, be a winner, but be decent and keep your integrity, is something that he put across for decades, in a gritty, realistic way.
He's a fecking great man. A giant of a human. And I just wanna see him back on his feet, capable to enjoy a good number of years yet.

I have only watched his Manchester United for ten years. But that is enough to know how great he is. Not only as a football club manager, not even because he is a legend for this club, he is such a great man, like a father figure for all the fans around the globe of Manchester United which, under his reign, is very much like a genuine gigantic family. In an era of nobody-believes-anything when lots of people go irrevocably down the path toward cynicism, that is almost impossible.

I fecking love the man. He brought me more joy than any football fan deserves through his management of the club and the football he made his teams play. For that, I'll be eternally grateful.

I grew up as a young lad with Fergie at the helm and he was Mr Manchester Utd to me. Hearing the news on Saturday saddened me deeply. Hope he pulls through this. A lady up the road from me was the same age as him when she was taken ill and recovered very well. Hope it's the same for Sir Alex.
