I don't think Perez would even allow him to be sold, would he?
Perez does love Bale but you have got to think at some point he may think enough is enough.

I'd happily take Bale as part of a De Gea deal if David has already made his mind up to go (which personally I think he has). I wouldn't buy Bale outright though anymore, too much of a risk that we cannot afford at the moment.

If getting Bale didn't change our decision on Griezmann I'd be all for it, but at the moment Griezmann is the superior player and what we really need. Whilst Bale has that X factor which we miss, Griezmann possesses more of what we miss, and that's clinical finishing.

O yeah totally agree. Griezmann has to be number one priority in the Summer. Bale would be an absolute fantastic bonus on top.

Signing Bale would be a disaster if his injury situation doesn't improve. He spends half the season either injured or regaining match fitness.

Just some months ago, not a chance in hell. But 2 things have changed: 1) Ronaldo has not declined as people expected and still has enough in the tank to be Madrid's franchise player for a while. 2) Isco, Asensio are playing very well and they're young, Spanish and cheap.
I still think Florentino would be reluctant to sell since he likes his shiny toys, but if they land Mbappe or Hazard I think he would listen to a big bid.

If it's not a swap for De Gea I would rather we have no interest.

17 goals and 6 assists this season, even when he's behind Benzema, Isco, Asensio and Lucas in the starter's list and being injured so much time.

Amazing numbers, as always.

World class when fit. Even when he doesn't influence games for a large portion of the match, more often than not he plays a decisive pass or scores an important goal.

Think he's gone cold on Bale this season hence the sell rumours. Benzema is still Florentino's man crush isn't he?

Think Bale has peaked but he's still scored 14 goals in about 25 games this season. All round game is not what it was though.

In fact, with the 2nd he has scored today, he has 18 goals and 6 assists overall this season with Madrid.

His overall record for Madrid is I think 70 goals in 130 games or close to that. For a wide player that's pretty good. Considering there were doubts over his ability at highest level when he signed I'd say playing a major part in two champions league final wins and posting that record more than justifies that investment.

Seems because he cost more than Ronaldo people expected him to post better stats than Ronaldo which is a very odd way of thinking.

Too many injuries and just doesn't mesh well with the current version of Cristiano anymore. The rise of Isco and Asensio and Benzema's abject season(the one guy who can make Cris and Bale work on our team) did the rest

Still an incredible player if manages to stay fit for more than 1 month

When fit this guy walks into the starting 11 of any team on the planet. No doubt about that.

The big issue is keeping the bastard fit. His injury record is the thing of nightmares.

I remember when a lot of people didn't think he'd do well at Real because they thought he wouldn't be able to show off his explosive pace since most teams would defend deep against Real and that his lack of technical ability would get shown up.

He wouldnt suit the way Jose currently plays.

Jose likes our wingers to cut in and play in between lines, so really you have to be good in tight spaces.

Before the Swansea game, Jose said,
"Alexis is different to Marcus [Rashford] because Marcus needs more space. Alexis, in small spaces, can manipulate the ball better and is trying his best to be one against one. So the decisions are based on that."

Although Bale on his day is world class, like Rashford, he needs space. If he gets that, he can be devistating, but it seems Jose prefers players who are suited to a narrow system, hence why he prefers Lingard and Mata over Rashford and Martial.

Having said that, Jose was after Perisic, who, is very much like Bale, in that respect. Strong, powerful, direct winger, who keeps the width.

Definately dont think Mourinho would turn down Bale if he was available.

I have always liked width on at least one side of the pitch. Having Bale hugging the touchline, with Sanchez cutting in from the left could be a joy to watch.

that actually happened! It's just that he's always been so much more than pace

Willian for Mata and Bale for Martial would absolutely be upgrades tbh, where would Bale fit in? Pretty much anywhere across the front 3/4. Imagine Bale, Sanchez and Lukaku tearing it up!

Imo Bale is good in tight spaces and he doesn't need space to triumph. He's truely world class. If he is at his best I'd happily keep him instead of trying Salah for Real Madrid for instance. Now, that's one player I feel needs space to shine.

I'm absolutely convinced Mourinho loves Bale.

Bale is by far at his best playing a free, second striker role with freedom to roam, as opposed to sticking to the wing. It's why lately he only plays well when Cristiano doesn't play

He’s exactly what we need on the right. Spend the 100m and make it happen. The reward is worth the risk. Sanchez, lukaku, bale and the right midfielder and full backs signings make us contenders in every competition we’re in

I rather not give Madrid the money back that they spent for him. They want to get rid of him, let's make them do it at a loss.

It's an exciting idea him coming here, but we shouldn't look past his injury record the last few years. Would be too risky investing a big fee + huge wages.

It's like some of you don't realize he spends at least a third of each season injured....and coming back to the faster more physical EPL is going to somehow help with that?
Not to mention he has rejected United numerous times.

No more than 50 million pounds if we do move for him.
He has talent but it's too much of a gamble even at 50 million pounds. He's out for months every single time he's tackled. His numbers might be good for the amount of time he played but we don't have an Isco, Asensio or Lucas Vasquez if Bale is out.

I'd still go for him. Nothing ridiculous like a De Gea swap but £60mish for a world class talent like him wouldn't be the end of the world.
It's such a dilemma for me because he is such a feckin talent . If we could know the future and have him fit for 70% of a contract I'd do it.

Probably the only player available that could conceivably be worth losing Martial for. Sanchez, Lukaku and Bale sounds potentially devastating to me.
