When did you realise Moyes was not the man for United?

Watching the season review 13/14 at the minute. Great opener against Swansea. Welbeck and RVP in fine form.

Got hammered by City, lost to WBA (I was in Thailand for both of them). He then went on a decent run of 11 games without defeat.

So when was the point when you said "nah this guy ain't for United"

Was it from day one?

Was it the City defeat, or the losses at home in December of 2013 to Everton and Newcastle?

Sunderland in the cup?

For me it was Olympiakos away. That was shocking and when I knew....yeah this ain't going to work is it.

I think it was after our defeat at home to Newcastle, Cabaye scored and we were utter pants afterwards.

Stuff which he said in the media only convinced more and more later.

Easy to say now, but I never wanted him from day one, he just didn't ever look up to the job. Sorry Fergie but that was a really bad choice.
Moyes was never a Man United manager and never will be up to any job at that level. I hoped it would turn out well for him, but it really was a case of just crossing fingers and hoping for the best as opposed to having any real faith in him being a success. His constant carping on about how he was poorly treated and just needed more time and money do him no favours at all.

Deep down probably day one, just didn't think he could handle a job that big. But when he tried to sign Fellaini and Baines I couldn't see him lasting long.

December probably sounds about right when I knew he was a goner despite the 6 year contract.

Van Gaal was around Christmas in his first season.

I never thought he was good enough from the beginning because his record wasn't that great but you try to be optimistic and give him a chance. By the end of December I'd figured he wasn't the right guy and it just got worse and worse from there.

Imagine getting battered at home by your biggest rivals, then going on to say "we have to aspire to be like City" in the post match interview.

Can't think of a worse thing to say from the manager of the current league champions. He sealed his fate that night.

I realized he was not a good fit after a month or 2 but after this stuff he said he said together with - Liverpool is coming to OT as a favorite and we need to aspire to be like City - I was absolutely livid.

I meant the complete opposite actually, I just worded it terribly.

I meant to say the entire footballing world raised an eyebrow when the announcement was made.

Well I didn’t want him from day one. I didn’t think he was a winner; Everton’s craven cup exits even when they were in good league form told me this.

Two home defeats in early December and I thought that’s it; he’s finished. Then we went on a run of six successive wins. Rooney was injured and Welbeck came in and did consistently well. This did make me briefly think maybe it would turn out ok, but the home defeat to Spurs on New Year’s Day followed by the awful cup exits showed I’d been deluding myself.

Around 2004, when I went to Goodison several times with my ex to watch Moyes's Everton side hoof the ball up and down the pitch, continually fail to play it to feet, and then marvelled at his inevitable game-changing defensive substitutions at 75 minutes.

How anyone could have looked at his 'achievements' over there and thought he could replace the greatest manager in the history of the British game, I will never know.

Aug 17 2013... after a long time lurker, I joined to vent my disappointment in Moyes. The transfer window was a disaster and told of worse to come.

Him taking holiday till July 1st probably should have warned us. The guy was never ready to start

I am sure I heard that during our pre season (first game in Bangkok if I remember correctly) that he took all the players for a walk on the beach because he didn't realise how BIG Man Utd are. He thought because it was ok with Everton it would be fine with United.

The players got mobbed and it got really ugly. All ready the players are thinking "what the feck is this shite".

The second you lose faith in the person who managers you then you are done, or more importantly he is done.

Never thought he would be a success in the job, convinced myself to give him a chance but by Xmas it sunk in that he really wasn't even close to being the top manager or personality we needed.
