Our average height is gonna get ruined with this signing :nervous:

We haven't brought him yet, have we?
I think we acquired him the moment City pulled out and briefed the media with usual "he chose money over Pep" and "not interested anymore" as it was two horse race for this signature. From then on it was a matter of details I guess, recent news only confirms it.

Are we going to finally have a Brazilian do well in a United shirt?

People usually make the excuse that they fail to adapt to the British weather but that cannot be said with Fred who has lived in Ukraine, which is equally as cold as the UK, for 5 years.

Fernandinho and Willian have done well, so here’s hoping.

Hopefully he's 1 out of at least 2 midfielders that we sign.

I would quite like someone like Seri come in too who sits deeper and is more of a playmaker.

That's Fred you've described. A defensive midfielder with an eye for a pass through the lines.

No he's a stupid bumda.
It's incredible how bad rep does Luckhurst have on here? He was the only one who was insisting last season that we've no interest in Fabinho and are only interested in Matic.

Yeah I don't get it. I think it stemmed from Fabinho. Everyone was convinced we were in for him, but Luckhurst. When Di Mario reported we were in for Fabinho everyone shat on Luckhurst

Yep, and, in fairness to Luckhurst he went big on this story a few days ago - if it comes off, fair play to him.

No he did well on this and the Matic transfers. I'm just curious to know how many he calls overall and what the general hit rate is.

Also is he the one who kept calling certain sects of United fans a bunch of "fanbois"?

Signing him before the world cup is a good idea just in case he performs really well in the world cup, and his price goes through the roof.

He looks more like a box-to-box with an eye for a pass, and gets involved in build up play.

Seri sits further back and dictates play with through balls and cross field passes etc.

He gets a bad rep because 90% of the stuff he prints is click bait.

Him getting Matic right could either be sheer coincedence or an actual source. Because most of his stuff is rehashed or wrong you can't really tell.

To be honest, if Fred played any further back he'd be a Matic replacement. I don't think we need one, maybe a back-up but that wouldnt be Seri.

If we sign him, can't wait to see how it will be announced.

FredtheRed will be the obvious hashtag, the mascot walks in and removes the mask(or whatever it is called) to announce the player.

No idea if that was him. But is he wrong? Look at United fans on Twitter.

Which stuff of his is click bait? He's a genuine United fan who largely writes complimentary stuff about us. You can say that the Matic one is pure guesswork, but I'd disagree.

Yeah I agree. I didn't consider him as reliable at all but he isn't bad at all. Like few said he was the first to report Matic transfer when everyone was busy joining Fabinho train.

Would be a great start to the summer. Id also like Savic but I can't see us splashing out on 2 big midfielders.

I think to be fair that was because he received a lot of criticism from United twitter when he said that United doesn't have any interest in Fabinho. I think di Marzio said Fabinho is close.

As far as his general hit rate is concerned, I don't know but I consider him and Duncan Castles as two top most reporters when it comes to news about United.

What happens if he breaks his leg though? I hope we get all these deals to the 99% stage but signatures come after the WC

Surely if you're unsure of his hit rate you can't really rank him as one of the top reporters?

Regarding the fanboi comment, it was quite childish and generally doesn't give them a good perception when they start churning out news.

Im not saying he's a not credible whatsoever like Philip De Brun or whoever, but he's generally a bit of a dick and I don't think he has as good a record as the likes of Di Marzio.

Whoever this Fred chap is, hopefully his time at Old Trafford will be more successful than Anderson and Rafael - assuming United sign him.

I saw an interesting discussion between the 'wise heads' on the Sunday Supplement. The experienced journos expressed a huge degree of sympathy for their juniors, it's a new world and unfortunately they are pressured to get stuff on the website, that generates traffic, that in turn gets in the ££'s. The experienced guys work on the big stories, and are given plenty of time to back up what they say.

That's his job, it's what he is told to do, so I find it hard to have a go at someone for it.

Pogba, Matic, Herrera and Fred. Add one more creative player to the mix to compete with Pogba and we've got great balance.

I agree. The dream looks to be SMS but sadly no links to him.
