If true we should go all in for Thiago
This. Nevermind Fred, Milinkovic-Savic, Bale and Griezmann. Thiago would solve most of our offensive problems in a 433, and I would be happy to take him as our only offensive signing this summer. But I have a sneaking feeling that he will go back to Barcelona.

How about the Lingard role? The free roaming inside forward who runs into space?
WTF is the Lingard role? When we play 4-3-3 Lingard is supposed to be our RW - however because he is not a RW he drifts inside ALL the time - just like Mata. On occasion he does play centrally, but that's a different formation.

We need a competent natural RW - no point signing somebody the playing them out of position cos it does not work. Mahrez/Bale/Malcolm/Leon Bailey can all play RW.

Griezmann is such a FM signing for me. Unless Jose is going to drop Lukaku I cant see it working cos he isn't as effective from the wings.

FYI - I would drop Lukaku in a heartbeat for Griezmann. But Jose wont

Hard to believe that in a summer where all of Lewandowski, Bale, Griezmann, Higuain, Ronaldo etc might move clubs, we would decide to go for Arnautovic. It can't be true.
How many of those will be happy as a backup striker?

I reckon most of them would back themselves to force either Lingard or Lukaku out of the side.
True, but my point was that Arnautovic is most likely seen as backup to Lukaku, with some matches on the RW.
Think Mourinho is happy with Rom, and don't look to replace him.

The player has a €25m clause that expires next 30 of June, and to get him Napoli would be thinking about paying more (up to 30m) in a similar situation than it has been for Patrik Schick last year.

I think they should make a rule from now on that all teams must declare to their transfer muppet fans a week before the window opens who they want to sign, and then it goes through some sort of third party bank transfer style business and then its done, no its a crap idea im realising as I type.

Would be nice to just know who we are going to sign, we could really have a great year next year if we make the right signings, but with some bad ones we could be struggling for top four.

I know it's just paranoia, but I swear the BBC just report the base fee of the transfer for other clubs, but for United report the fee including all add-ons whilst also converting it to the euro value to bump it up further.

"A clause in Dalot's contract will allow the Portugal Under-21 international to leave for €20 million from June 1.
But with a host of Europe's top clubs chasing the teenager, sources have told ESPN FC that United are prepared to offer a higher fee to convince Porto to sell before the clause is activated. Sources have told ESPN FC that Bayern Munich and Barcelona are among the clubs interested."
Can someone explain this?
June 1st is tomorrow. Why would we offer more if it's the players decision. I could understand it if the release clause would be two months away which would give other teams time to convince Dalot to sign for them but this is tomorrow...

Because after june 1st - any club can throw in a bid and might snatch the player right under our noses. Before that - they need to negotiate a deal with the club
