I wonder what folks on here would do. If later after all this Pogba and Mourinho bashing, they found out it is Woodward he is pissed off with for breaking promises to strengthen the squad. After all yall did hear Alexis complain about that:lol:
I think that's super unlikely. Don't get me wrong, I would love that to be the case. That the board's lack of ambition was alienating not only the manager and quite a lot of the fans, but also the players. But Sanchez had a bit of a moan, was he fined? Hardly.

Everyone at the club just needs to shut the fcuk up and do their jobs.

Management is top down.

Woodward coming out like a fcukwit briefing the press on Varane and transfer activity is pathetic. Undermines the manager.

Jose coming out like a fcukwit talking Shite about players: be that Martial and the kid, players returning from a World Cup, or individual mistakes. It undermines the players and breeds distrust.

Every single player talking sh1te to the press is fcukwittery. Pogba and these comments, Shaw and his clenched photos and subsequent interviews, Fellaini and his cnuty flirtations to 'earn' a contract. All of them. It breeds disharmony amongs the group.

Every single facet of our club is at fault.

But it starts at the top. Woodward needs to shut the fcuk up and focus on Commercial partnerships. He should be NOWHERE near the football side of the business. He's an ex banker. He has no experience of football whatsoever in the grand scheme of things. He needs to find an office, close the blinds, do his job, then go home. Repeat that every day of the week. If he wants a Football director; get it done in the dark and don't show your smarmy face in the media.

Our club is in trouble. Woodward is the root cause. The sooner the Board gets a clear hierarchy and structure in order, the better.

I'm sick of it all.

Why would Pogba keep his mouth shut when Woodward doesn't. Everyone in any business ever has always taken their lead from the head of that business. The guy is a barrier to success right now and the next 12 months will be very telling.

Do we want to be a club that simply makes money and stays popular, or do we compete year on year at the expense of a few $'s on the bottom line? Woodward wants the former. Fans expect the latter. Anyone that's defending Woodward right now should probably feck off and become a Spurs fan.

Not only is this a completely insane idea, but Pogba has never actually said or even suggested that the entire club should be built around him anyway. He is behaving the same way many players in the past have behaved when they decide they want more money.

Where do some of you get your ideas from?
Well, there are numerous people on this forum from all walks of life. I think for the club to be back winning champions leagues and PL's it needs to choose someone to be the undisputed leader of the team, like Messi at barça or like Ronaldo was at Madrid and even with us before.

It's cryptic, like a love song by Take That.

There are things I cannot say
Because if you go away
The things I cannot say cannot be said
There are things I cannot say
Because I want you to stay
So I'll say I love you in my head

I have to admit. This stuff is fecking annoying. Not only this, but all the negativity surrounding the club. Its fecking with my "United-mood" which usually helps out on a bad day tbh. Now it is very dark and i hate it. Probably time to focus on other things than football for a short while

Not seen him happy since his return. It is as if he is here under some kind of obligation and wants out as fast as he can. His agent and Barca adding more fuel everyday. The other top clubs seem united and their players playing for each other but here we have this annoying situation of player - manager (board?) conflict. I'm sorry but what I've seen of Pogba at United (not seen him at Juventus), he is not meant to be here. He maybe world class (I have my doubts about his consistency and temperament) but not the player for this club - not for now, at least, with Jose as manager.

If the club tries to keep both of them, it could result in even nastier situation. I hope they sort out their problems but I feel it is not going to happen. He will leave, if not now then in January. Or, they can offer Pogba a large contract. That almost always makes the players (and more importantly, their agents) happy. That would also set an example and the club then should be prepared for future prima donas.

People are just looking for any reason to bash Mourinho, even Pogba being a bitch is Mou's fault when he has clearly done this before with Fergie.

If Mourinho goes, 100% Pogba goes as well. But of course, haters want to make it like it's one or the other.

The state of the haters, still hoping Zidane can come in. Lol mates

Haha I feel the same mate! I’ve just been promoted at work this week so I’ve had the luxury of taking my mind off all things football. Absolute blessing cause otherwise I’d be very down haha

Because he gave us the pg version. Not naming names, not lifting the lid. What if Pogba has some NC17 thoughts about it all. Woodward, the Fa would fall on him like a ton of bricks with fines...........

You are right. Pogba wants to leave regardless due to Raiola pushing for it. He has no great affinity to the club. And just because Zidane (assuming he is appointed) is French and admires Pogba doesn't mean the latter will be inclined to stay.

Also a bit premature to talk about the next manager when this season's just started. Though unlikely, football is still unpredictable, and if Jose ends up winning the PL or CL by some huge stroke of luck/tactics whatever, then the whole situation would change for next season.

Was he? Near the end he was feared by all the youngsters and seen as a miserable so and so wasn't he? Maybe in the early days. He was my favourite player back then.
Well I'm going by what people have claimed, including Keane. We have no way of knowing for sure.
About a year before his departure, Keane went into massive decline. Not surprisingly given how driven he was, he couldn’t come to terms with his decline and started lashing out and blaming everyone else. Fergie rightly got rid of him as he could no longer do it on the pitch and had become toxic off it.

For over a decade before that he was adored by all (occasional and quickly forgotten fallouts aside) and respected as a great leader of the dressing room.

Doesn't the manager spend 70% of his time whining about people at the club to the media? Respect works both ways.
This.

It's a natural thing when people feel mistreated to bite back. Both of Jose and Pogba, should keep their mouth shut and do their jobs without running to the media every opportunity they have.

I see where you’re coming from, but let’s not forget the same manager found it so difficult to praise Pogba during the World Cup. So, I don’t blame him for having a go at Mourinho.

It seems like he’s after a new deal. He spoke highly about the club, saying it was a dream to come through the academy and captain us. There’s a lot of talk on here about how Pogba doesn’t care about United, but he’s always spoke so highly of his time in the academy here and genuinely seems to enjoy playing for us.

But with Sanchez coming in as the highest paid player, it’s no surprise Pogba will be after the same wages. Especially, now that he’s a World Cup winner, and seems to be the vice captain.

Can you please find the exact quotes that Mourinho gave towards Pogba re. The world Cup and tell me how that's comparable in severity to the tripe Pogba came out with over the weekend?

I don't think this is a binary situation like Pogba vrs Mourinho and some of the comments calling Pogba a bitch are embarrassing

Mourinho has obviously and undeniably been public in his criticism of players in the past including Pogba himself - some of this was ridiculous like his comments after the World Cup

For Pogba to be empowered say this it tells me one thing though - he feels like he's nothing to lose by saying that and he hasn't been unprofessional in the past

that's down to either;

  • having an axe to grind with Mourinho or having enough of him
  • wanting to leave himself
  • being part of a power struggle involving Woodward
  • a combination of all of the above
no-one knows what the truth of this is and this is not going to be a good season with the amount of political unrest behind the scenes and coming to the fore.

The best hope we all have is for Jose to do his talking on the pitch. An exciting, attacking, winning team is a happy one.

We must be among the select few clubs where everyone seems to need the media to talk to one another.

Manager wants a player to be fitter? Tell him via the press.
Manager wants a player to be more disciplined? Tell him via the press.
Manager wants better players? Tell the board via the press.
Board wants the manager to choose younger players? Tell him via the press.
Player has concerns and wants support? Tell the manager/board via the press.
fecking circus but it's to be expected when the guys at the top set a precedent.

How is this thread 22 pages? He's clearly trying to get a better contract. We should give it to him because he deserves it.
Why does he deserve it? He's hardly on a pittance is he? Give us a season with good performances throughout and then he may deserve it but I don't think just because he won a WC and had one good game as captain again Leicester are grounds enough to get a new contract.

I don't doubt Jose has caused a bit of unrest (tough love is hard for some players to take) in the squad but after being given the armband and giving a good performance while helping secure a really valuable 3 points in our opening game after a difficult pre-season I feel Pogba shouldn't have done this. Who does it help?

We'd just won and he made it all about him.

New contract then. Looks like he looked to Ronaldo model in Madrid and decided to bring it here.
He's not Ronaldo though. Ronaldo could get away with it, he was a one man winning machine and all of his narcissism could be overlooked due to the sheer amount of goals he scored / created and shirt sales.

Disagree.

If you want to leave the club you don't talk about how much you love it in the same interview nor do you make yourself available post world cup to play near enough 90 minutes on the opening day and pick up the armband whilst delivering a first class performance..

Pogba knows he has the support of the club and that's why he's confident. It's all about a power struggle between he and JM.

You must have been hidden in a dark cupboard then and he's been on social media laughing and joking with Bailly then dancing and singing with De Gea on the way to training.

He also looked delighted when Shaw scored the other night and did an interview about loving the club and being privileged to wear the armband.

I swear some of you only see what you want to see.

You don’t throw shade at your manager for a new contract do you? I’m not sure what he wants but he playing a risky game.
Jose played games with his boss with his indirects and now one of his players is doing the same to him. Karma I suppose.

Knew when he didn't celebrate the goal that something was up. That interview is very worrying indeed. That being said, I think he will leave next Summer anyways.

Any company that wants to keep their best employees that other companies are activity looking to recruit should be doing their upmost to keep them happy and motivated. It's no different in football and I don't see any reason why Pogba can't be happy here for many years to come.

At what point in his career do you think Pogba has celebrated a 1-0 penalty goal against Leicester heavily? You'd see the exact same reaction by Martial, Lukaku and probably a few others.

To be honest, Pogba earns a shit ton of money, so if really wanted to say something he can and should, he can afford it. Saying I'll get fined is a cop out, he can afford it if he really wanted to say something.

Does he not mean that he wants to say things about the media and the stories about him not being happy but he doesn't want to be fined by the FA?

I'm still scratching my head at how bizzare Pogba was in the quotes.

The manager just said you were phenomenal in the match, you scored a goal, performed well. The manager praised your training and attitude before the match too.

And then you just chat shite after. So weird.

Well if it doesn't add up to you, then maybe you should entertain the fact that maybe it isn't what you previously thought, and look at other possibilities. As opposed to what other posters are doing?

I see where you’re coming from, but let’s not forget the same manager found it so difficult to praise Pogba during the World Cup. So, I don’t blame him for having a go at Mourinho.

There manager actually praised him during the WC. It wasn't over the top. He was fair in his assessment and actually pointed out to the disciplined performances he put in. That's what he wants pogba to do for United.
