How many of you lot want to drop points today to hasten Jose's departure?

Be honest, no judgement (from me anyway, you'll get roasted by others but who cares).

if BBC is to be believed, 3-0 home loss and pogba sitting down in the goal for 90 mins doesn't even seem to be enough.

Everyone should watch pogba today (if he's not dropped because Jose is in yolo mode). I doubt he even breaks out of a light jog today.

Never want United to lose. They seem to be fecking it perfectly well without us wanting them to lose.

    RIP Lawman

It is sad to say it has been confirmed that much-loved member Lawman has passed away after a long fight with pancreatic cancer. A former player, his knowledge and love of the game was clear to see by all who spoke to him on here and he will be missed.

Mains members can offer their condolences here and read up on his career here.

Newcastle has 2 points and we are playing at home. We surely won't lose this. If we win, i hope to see some relief or happiness, celebration, just anything positive. Tired of feeling shit after watching us

    Mourinho leaves The Lowry

For the first time this season, there is no squad list in advance as the team didn't stay at The Lowry last night. Mourinho has recently left the hotel to head to Old Trafford ahead of the game.

In terms of team news, as said previously during these updates, Herrera, Rojo and Lingard are confirmed to be missing, with Valencia set to miss out after sending a tweet earlier wishing good luck to the team which suggests he isn't part of the squad.

If we lose this. I won't have much to say.
    Newcastle are pretty awful.

If Jose has already agreed to leave, then I'd love him to cut the shackles and just have us play without any restrictions. Just tell the players to attack as much as they want and can. Score as many goals as possible.

If I were mourhino, I'd go with a team full of players loyal to him. I don't know whether it's possible to make out a reasonable XI of players who will play for him but that must be the only option he has left now although it's debatable whether he wants to survive instead of just getting a big fat payoff for failing.

Still think he’s going after the match regardless of the debate going on. He knows he’s done.

Can’t imagine it’ll be a good match today.

If he is fighting for his job, I agree.
But what if he has already agreed to leave, by mutual consent?

Going by the most extensive reports I've seen that would mean no De Gea, Valencia, Bailly, Pogba, Herrera, Mata, Martial or Sanchez I think? Maybe throw Lindelof, Shaw, Perreira and Rashford in with that group for safety.

I think we could just about field a team without them in a Christmas tree formation.

    Romero
    Dalot - Jones - Smalling - Young
    Fred - Matic - McTominay
    Lingard - Fellaini
    Lukaku

    What a thing of beauty.

But who are loyal to him ? and the ones that are,how many are we talking about ?
I just think there is a divide between the management and the players now that cannot be patched over with Jose at the helm.

I think players are fed-up with his negative demeanour around the club,fed-up with his constant snipes at their playing abilities which is hardly good for team morale and are just generally fed-up with the restrictions in their play.

There is no collective thought showing through at United. All the big factors seem to want to go off in different directions.
All seem to see United through a different lens.

    Early team news

The MEN have said that they understand Young will be starting today with Valencia missing the game. Looks like no league debut for Dalot.

    One thing to smile about

In the match programme, Mourinho has pointed out how well we've done in the Champions League this season.

I can't believe the players will be able to play with all this shite around.

My prediction is we'll lose 1-0 and Mourinho will leave "on mutual consent" tomorrow.

If Valencia isn't playing does that mean Dalot starts? Or is he going to use Ashley Young?

That's what I'm wondering. The mental part for an athlete is extremely important.

I thought it'd be Dalot but MEN seem adamant it'll be Young. Young posted a graphic on his Instagram story yesterday about the game but can't remember if he does it when he's not playing. I know Fred and Andreas tend to do one every game.

Oh I just saw that from MEN. Disappointing. What has he got to lose by playing the lad? Ah well.

    Last minute lineup predictions

Less than an hour until the predictions close and there are a few questions.

    Who will play at rightback?

Valencia is set to miss out, so who will start out of Dalot, Darmian and Young? I think many would like to see Dalot start but according to the MEN it looks set to be Young.

    Stick or twist in midfield?

Mourinho's first choice midfield this season has consisted of Matic, Fellaini and Pogba but our record has been pretty poor. Will there be a shake-up which sees Fred or even Andreas return?

Who will be in the front three?

Last time we started with Rashford, Lukaku and Sanchez and failed to score. The last time Mata started in the league was in our 3:2 loss away to Brighton in which he was hooked off at halftime, but could he start today?

    Damien's predicted XI

    De Gea

    Young Bailly Smalling Shaw
    Matic
    Fellaini Pogba
    Rashford Lukaku Sanchez

If Jose drops Lukaku and Pogba, he's basically saying to Ed 'fire me or I will make you fire me.' Will be very interesting to see selection.

Newcastle have manged to be worse than us, which is quite some feat at the moment. Anything more than a big win (at least three and more like four or five) isn't good enough although Jose is in a lose-lose position in this one. any player made to look poor by Newcastle shouldn't think about playing for us again

Anything professional looking whether it's photos or graphics is just a social media team. I doubt it means much, unless they have very specific instructions. It does sound like he's gonna be playing though. Shame if so over Dalot.
