A lot of Utd reports are fake. Besides, they consist of clubs cheekily asking for Anthony and not Jose offering him out.
There's a massive difference between the two.
Can we all stop pretending Jose and Martial are mortal enemies?
Its rather irrelevant really, but some posters are so far up Martial's arse that they get offended on his behalf. Neither Mourinho or Martial have the time to care about what could have happened in the transfer market. Mourinho is trying to save his job and Martial is trying to make a name for himself.

Whether Mourinho was forced to play Martial, or Martial doesn't want to play for Mourinho is irrelevant. They are working together and it's coming off.

Again you're free to believe whatever you want, but again as I said one doesn't need to look any further beyond Mourinho's treatment of Martial.

And who's implying they're mortal enemies tho?

In some amazing form at the moment. 5 in 5. Good finish, too. Really want to see him run at players more sometimes, though. He has the ability. Think he needs to be more selfish.
During the majority of the second half they constantly doubled down on him, plenty of times they basically had two players lined up in case he got past their rb.

Crucial that we move the ball quicker and take advantage of players out of position when it's like that

Mourinho during the World Cup said he wanted to sign Perisic but didn't know why it didn't happen. He then signed Sanchez to play on the left instead of just persisting with Martial.
Dont bother, backpaddle mode is on.

This forum for the past 12 months?
Is it not obvious how strange this is to bring conjecture about their past everytime Martial does well? Wouldn't Jose drop Martial regardless of performance?
He's playing well, follows Joses instructions, starts and looks set to sign a new contract.
Are agendas and forum arguments so deep seeded these days?

I'm flattered that you're considering me to be the entirety of this forum really.

Why would he drop him now when he's basically saving his job week in, week out?

We had Martial playing really good, being our best player in some gamea

You're not, I could have chosen a dozen more posts on here that hides agenda behind impartiality.
Its why you brought up reports to bash Jose then hides behind believe what you like.
You know what you're doing.

Wasn't he playing well when Sanchez signed? If he dropped him then due to not liking him then why play him now?

Losing to Comeback Winning!
Good clinical goal. Other than that, he always tried and combine well with Shaw, and always have a good go attacking. Mixed result general play.

Not his best game. Difficult game, good effort but hit and miss performance really.

We had Martial playing really good, being our best player in some games during Mourinho's first year, only to be inexplicably dropped, then as BosnianRed has reminded us, Mourinho's own words that he wanted Perišić but he doesn't know why it didn't happen (everyone and their dog knows Inter wanted Martial in return, which implies Mourinho was OK with that), and the all famous Sanchez signing when he dropped in form Martial and proceeded to play Sanchez for 8 months even tho he was utter crap.

This topic will always resurface because Mourinho keeping his favourites has been detrimental to other player's development.

Martial did all the same he's doing now, he was following instructions and he was tracking back (heck even in first year he was tracking back, that's how he injured Bolasie) last year yet Mourinho still went after Sanchez and dropped Martial, how do you explain that?

Too little involved today but scored a goal again
He made created 2 sitters for Shaw and Fred, he had more touches than any other midfielder or attacker other than Pogba, more shots than anyone... Was between him and Pogba for Motm. Goal or no goal, he still played a huge role.

Because an Arsenal level Sanchez is better than Martial and it was worth trying to get that out of Alexis.
Anthony is now at that level himself and he stays in the side. Its really not that complicated. Sanchez wasn't bought to sit on the bench regardless if how its ended up.
And no, Jose was not OK with sending Martial off to Inter judging by his comments after we failed to sign Perisic ffs. Ed fecked that up with FFP and Inter asked for an unrealistic deal to punish him.
That's an absurd story to believe. Jose even said he would have played LB so why would he weaken our left wing?

He has been consistently good and deserves his place. Very pleased he's scored four on the bounce. Long may it last!!

Now then, why do you feel it's relevant to bring that "hate each other" part into our conversation? Are you implying that I've one of those that are running that story? If so, quote me on it.

In case you haven't noticed Sanchez was actually poor at Arsenal for months before we signed him and even if he wasn't it still doesn't justify you replacing one of your best players in that moment with a struggling Arsenal star without easing him into the team, and in that way getting the best out of them both.

So in your opinion it was rightfully so for Mourinho to drop Martial, a player already accustomed to his system and arguably our POTY in that moment and in doing so offsetting whole team, for a declining off form Sanchez who was basically brought in couple of days before?

No it was not worth it at all. Because doing so was detrimental to our team and a player who's potential world class who we can build around for the future 10 years in order to jump start an ex star on a decline. If you can ask Mourinho himself, he would probably tell you it wasn't worth it either .

You keep telling yourself that, but you very well known that Martial was this good last season as well but Mourinho still dropped him the moment Sanchez was brought in.

How can you even believe in that crap after everything you've witnessed, is beyond me.

Our best outfield player. Dangerous, scores goals and carries a real threat going forwards. Needs to start every game, far better on the left than Sanchez or Rashford

Other than him basically being a one man team - I really like how fluid and comfortable he has become with Shaw down that wing

I'll take a Martial who can finish brilliantly over a Martial who can dribble brilliantly.

As for the debate re Sanchez, it's pretty clear in retrospect that it hasn't worked and I have to believe that if Jose/Woody could go back in time they wouldn't have brought Sanchez, even to offload Miki. But here we are and Martial is in great form now. Martial's form presents a problem for Jose re Sanchez and Lukaku and we'll deal with that another day. But for now, Martial has earned a long run in the starting XI.

Martial FC baby. My only disappointment is he missed out on a world cup medal but "we go again"

I always said he was talented.
Yeah. I just remember the whole "Rashford has to be first choice on the left cos he's the bigger talent" argument you kept making last season. I assume you've given that up

I never said Rashford was the bigger talent either.

Disagree. We did have quite the arguments last season. Keeping that aside, Martial I feel is simply hitting his 2015/2016 heights. He still has a couple of years that he can go up.

I will hate football if he plays next year for Bayern, Juve or something like that. Give him offer which he can't refuse, ffs.

Fantastic player, most on here could always see his talent. Once he learns to make a few more runs we will have a terrific player, potential to veone of the best in the world in his position. Need to go all out for conteact extension and just leave the left wing to him. Him and pogba have such an understanding with the link up play. Give him the ball and he will invariably produce... Long may it last. The brightest spark in a shit season so far
