Give it to Mick McCarthy until the end of the season then give it to Stephen Kenny permanently.

Yes, get in! Great news. Its a shame Mourinho couldn't be successful here but there's no regrets. His reign was too toxic at the end to continue.

It's important that the club make the right decisions now. I hope they don't jump for the biggest name they can find. Instead, stick to our traditions and choose someone who plays fast, attacking football. We need someone who can coach us properly.

We need to get back to our traditions as a club and get our identity back. Do that and the club will be back on track.

Exciting times!

This i've read on bluemoon. Most of them would like us to give it to Giggsy. Not sure what i think about Giggs becoming the manager, good thing is that he would demand attacking football, whether he could coach and motivate them enough remains a different question. I have to think about it a bit.
Everyone is a risk but i think with decent players he could really go one step further. Ask add in that United is his passion 100%.

My only worry with Poch is his lack of trophies and Spurs reputation of bottling big games, although that's been going on for years and well before his time, he hasnt exactly turned it around any. The football would be decent though.
Trophies should be neither here nor there. We want someone with the right attitude, not that's been in the right circumstances.

Bottling big games is a different issue though, and while Spurs have definitely Spursed a fair few situations under Poch, I do feel like they've been less Spurs than before Poch.

I’d actually be up for Cantona as interim. More likely to be Carrick though.

Why do I feel that Poch and Carrick would be best friends outside of football? They have very similar reserved personalities. This could be good for communication, but might need a bit of steel/motivator for the players at a big club. Evra would be good next season too.

What happens if the interim does a cracking job but the job is already promised to someone else?

Moyes has 6 months left on his contract, just saying
I'd assume that the sequence will be I) interim manager II) DOF and then III) permanent manger. The DOF and board will probably decide whether to let the interim guy continue or whether to get a new. Wouldn't surprise me if we don't have a new permanent one for quite some time (nearer the summer).

The football is my concern. I'm not a fan. People here convinced themselves Mourinho played some good stuff and then got a massive reality check when he was here. It'll be the same with Poch. Though it's nowhere near as bad as Mourinhos football.

Hopefully we go for Pardew.

Sbragia to steady the ship in the mean time.

If things show signs of improving and they start enjoying their football again, I see no reason why we can't keep hold of them. I 100% believe the issue has been with Mourinho.
The debate would be on what really hampered this season. I mean the style of play wasn't pretty, but the amout of goals we scored so far should have at least been good enough for another 10 points. One of the biggest problems has to be the defensive organization, was it because Matic couldn't close down the spaces, was it Lukaku losing most of the balls played towards him or just a general inability due to coaching.

I'm also of the opinion that with Mourinho gone things are going to improve, improve enough to defeat PSG and have a proper go at the top teams in the league remains to be seen.

For first time we sack manager in a perfect time. We can take our time in appointing a Dof and deciding the best manager for the job while he studies the team before taking it and the season is already fecked up anyway.

If we pulled it right, I think we can all look forward to next season.

Except they are 2 unrelated events.
how are they unrelated? they're both matches following on from each other within the season.

the appointment of the caretaker role and the appointment of the future manager are two separate conversations entirely. i get that you're just now in defending mode, but it's pretty funny that everyone else can see how ridiculous all the merging is except those who did it.

This will take some flack but I’d like to see Carlos Tevez given an opportunity. Has recently announced his intentions to get into coaching, and coming off the back of his disappointing copa libertadores loss to River plate, he’s out to make amends. His tenacity on the pitch would translate well into management IMO and he would have our players running through brick walls for him. So what about the billboard, let bygones be bygones and get someone in who has so visibly demonstrated on the OT turf what it entails to be an employee of Manchester United.anyone?

One word : Di Matteo.
Tbf, If there was a scenario that we were going to appoint an interim who wins us a 4th CL, but gets sacked the following season after being made permanent, I’d probably take it.

Short termism I know, but CL wins aren’t to be sniffed at ;)

Would he leave his job to take over for a few months with little to no chance of becoming permanent
I guess if he does reasonably well then he puts himself in the shop window for other jobs that he might not by staying in Norway.

Would be a big risk for Ole to leave Molde yet again for just a 5 month contract. He can't keep returning back to them.
