There are a lot of oppo fans that are pissed off today. If it was up to them Jose would be given a lifetime contract to manage United.
Says it all really.
2000 Fired by Benfica
2007 Fired by Chelsea, club went on to reach CL finals after that
2013 Contract not extended by Madrid, divided the dresing room
2015 Fired by Chelsea, left the club just above relegation zone
2018 Fired by Man Utd

In 5 years, fired three times, twice left the club mid-season, thrice left the club in poor morale and the best was a league. This is football heritage.

Do you know what else is heritage? Spent 400m in last three years and still made the fans believe that they have a shite squad. That is heritage.

You know what else is heritage? Look at how good the players were before they joined the club and how they played and how good they were. That is football heritage.

The reality is some managers, they want to do their jobs. Other managers just want to make excuses. One thing is to develop the players and another is to buy old players.
Spot on.
I wanted him to succeed and backed him until about September when it became clear he was sabotaging and picking favourites. That team he chose at West Ham was about as unprofessional as it gets. Football had been dire all year too after being quite decent in the first year and a half.
It is a weird feeling but I feel he was trying to get sacked. Kept picking players he likes and CM in defence was unprofessional as hell.
fecking absolute state of you lot in here celebrating this. Clubs a mess from top to bottom run by crooks in America with a cnut of a banker in charge of all things football (backed by a board of 8 with NO football experience).

The players are a disgrace to the club. 90% of them. Won absolutely feck all and done nothing of note (the only one who had recently is a clown) and now we celebrate the only winner in the club being sacked. Let’s hope you enjoy what’s to come, it won’t get better.
Hopefully we go the way Chelsea did twice and Real Madrid by seeing immediate improvement once that twat had gone.
+1 from me.

This is NOT the way it should be but, unfortunately, is how it is.

Unless that Saudi Billionaire turns up soon, it's going to be a long and miserable next 30 years.....
Many clubs saw improvement after he left.

Don't understand. What have I taken out of context?
Didn't you mention Mourinho fanboy alert to my previous post?
I think you should spend a bit of time to understand why a fan would be stunned that our board would sack someone [at this time].

Please do not quote me again. Thanks.

EDIT: clarified.

Only time I've really seen him smile the last year or so was that picture of him in the car today on the way to getting sacked with a big smirk on his face.

The writing has been on the wall for awhile. He doesn't want to be here, still living in his cesspit room at the Lowry

Nice big fat payoff before Xmas and back to his beloved London. No wonder he's now smirking. Either that or he farted

I was probably drunk at the time. Would you mind filling us in on what we missed?
A lot of posters on here seem to believe because we won a few trophies in an age we already had some of the worlds best players, the best manager in the world and English football dominating Europe means the Glazer takeover means nothing.

Signs were there during Fergies years. The summer we won the European cup. Sold Ronaldo. ‘Value in the market’ or ‘agents fees’. Moyes. Replacing David Gill with fecking Woodward. Top 4 clauses and Disneyland

Ah, you're an anti-Glazer. That explains everything.

Carry on.

I fist-pumped at my desk today and mumbled ‘get in’. I felt a little pathetic and then realised that the club can now move forward with (at the very least) a chance of some half decent football being played.

The media brief has made it clear the club wants to appoint a manager that will uphold traditions. In short, they must be proven to play attacking football.

Ignore all of the doom merchants with their lofty theories about the entire structure of the club. While not an overnight thing, you’ll remember that there’s lads at the club that can actually play a bit of football. I’ll be here to say I told you so when they do.

It's almost like most people care more about what's happening on the pitch than the background stuff. Crazy stuff. Most of us are aware of these 'issues' going on during all of this time.

Fergie won two league titles and reached another CL final after we sold Ronaldo.

But keep reminding us on what we missed grandpop.

Its very convenient for your argument to avoid mentioning the times when the board spent huge amounts of money on Di Maria, Pogba and Lukaku whilst also braking the wage budget for Sanchez.

If you’re all about branding and not football, you sign the biggest names for your brand. You don’t have a plan on the pitch or the footballing side.

The sad thing about all of this is that for years the narrative was that he really wanted to be Manchester United manager and genuinely had huge respect for the club. Yet from the moment he arrived he seemed deeply unhappy here.

Nice.
Although you realise that cesspit room will be more luxurious than the house of everyone on here

How can anyone with an ounce of care about the club not be? This isn’t about Jose. His time was up, I’m not denying that. How can you watch the last 13 years and disagree that the club is a mess from the top
I've had this argument more times than I care to count.

It's boring quite frankly.

And that has absolutely no correlation does it? Countless examples of clubs being successful whilst being mismanaged and then suffering for years after. We’ve done it before ourselves. Our biggest rivals did the same.

As for Grandpop

The narrative is created by some deluded United fans who think we are still the "bestest" club in the universe and everyone dreams playing for us/managing.

Ding dong the witch is dead!

I was a big Mourinho fan and wanted him to take over, I think it’s a shame how it’s worked out, but he’s failed massively. It’s been clear for some time now that it wasn’t working. He’s far too antagonistic and seems to hold many grudges against people around him. We were plummeting under his stewardship and had no hope of correcting course. The worse it got, the worse he got.

You can blame the players for whatever, but no matter what your job is, if you don’t respect your boss you’re not going to perform at your peak. It’s clear at least half of the squad couldn’t stand Mourinho, and it’s no coincidence that it was all our best players. He couldn’t get a tune out of them and reverted to workhorse players more and more, which still didn’t work. Every lineup felt like he was dropping someone to prove a point, a man devoid of ideas. It’s sad that it worked out like this but we had to stop the rot. I don’t expect an immediate turnaround, top four is already gone and we ain’t beating PSG over two legs so hopefully we use the rest of the season wisely.
Exactly my feelings too.

Genius.

Value in the market thing was even before Glazers came over... remember how we tried to 'replace' Keano with the likes of Miller, Djemba Djemba? I'm sure we'd be better off without the Glazers, but you can't pin everything on them.

Thanks Jose for the two best seasons after Fergie left.

Thanks for the League Cup and Europa league and some fantastic games. The comeback vs Man City, De Gea masterclass vs Arsenal, winning in Turin, beating Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford etc etc

Of course the bad results out weigh the good results and it was time that he left. Still I think it's important to place on record that it hasn't been all bad with Jose Mourinho.

Just thinking back i actually think out of all 3 of them Moyes was the only one who can feel hard done. LvG and Jose ran their course whilst i felt we aborted the Moyes project without him getting that second season to prove any progress.

Win Rate: 54%
Pts Per Game: 1.9
Goals For Per Game: 1.6
Goals Against Per Game: 0.9

LVG:
PL Games: 76
Wins: 39
Draw: 19
Losses: 18
Win Rate: 51%
Pts Per Game: 1.8
Goals For Per Game: 1.5
Goals Against Per Game: 0.9

Moyes:
PL Games: 34
Wins: 17
Draw: 6
Losses: 11
Win Rate: 50%
Pts Per Game: 1.7

Ultimately, LvG and Joses PL record is pretty similar. With Jose having a slightly higher Win Rate.
