Just like Liverpool when they sacked Rodgers having had Hodgson before him and then hired Klopp?
There are a lot of oppo fans that are pissed off today. If it was up to them Jose would be given a lifetime contract to manage United.

2000 Fired by Benfica
2007 Fired by Chelsea, club went on to reach CL finals after that
2013 Contract not extended by Madrid, divided the dresing room
2015 Fired by Chelsea, left the club just above relegation zone
2018 Fired by Man Utd

In 5 years, fired three times, twice left the club mid-season, thrice left the club in poor morale and the best was a league. This is football heritage.

Do you know what else is heritage? Spent 400m in last three years and still made the fans believe that they have a shite squad. That is heritage.

You know what else is heritage? Look at how good the players were before they joined the club and how they played and how good they were. That is football heritage.

The reality is some managers, they want to do their jobs. Other managers just want to make excuses. One thing is to develop the players and another is to buy old players.

I wanted him to succeed and backed him until about September when it became clear he was sabotaging and picking favourites. That team he chose at West Ham was about as unprofessional as it gets. Football had been dire all year too after being quite decent in the first year and a half.

Oh god yeah for sure. I know I was devastated when Liverpool sacked Rodgers.

Just got off the plane coming back home for Christmas and just heard the news.

I guess something had to give, but to be honest there are more than a few so called stars at OT who I would have sacked before sacking JM. Hopefully they'll be going as well, and sooner rather than later.

My great worry and fear is that this is just one more step along what now seems our inevibale path to copying The Scousers and a 30odd year wait before another title.

Well, Pep won that battle in Manchester and the whole 3rd season thing is real.

I'm pleased we won the Europa League with him though as now the Super Cup is the only trophy I've never seen United win :)

I am absolutely stunned and speechless that the board have taken action. It may just be a merry Christmas after-all.
Really. Stunned and speechless....
Sacking a manager is hardly the most difficult task. Football clubs do it every week.

They have a lot of experience having sacked Moyes and Van Gaal not that long ago.

Love how cutting and to the point this is in the BBC article:
BBC said:
The club have made a change after no progress with results or style despite spending nearly £400m on 11 players.

Awesome. They removed the tumor. Too bad the cancer is in the bones as well as our supposed brain. I guess the virus shouldn't be too much of a concern.
I respectfully suggest that you think a bit more before posting if these are the only words you can come up with. You will upset many with your remarks.

fecking absolute state of you lot in here celebrating this. Clubs a mess from top to bottom run by crooks in America with a cnut of a banker in charge of all things football (backed by a board of 8 with NO football experience).

The players are a disgrace to the club. 90% of them. Won absolutely feck all and done nothing of note (the only one who had recently is a clown) and now we celebrate the only winner in the club being sacked. Let’s hope you enjoy what’s to come, it won’t get better.

Stupid, stupid decision. "It can't get any worse..."

God help you all when Solskjaer gets his hands on our defence.
I'm pretty confident we'll end with a positive goal differential by the end of the season, in which case it would already be better than it currently is.

+1 from me.

This is NOT the way it should be but, unfortunately, is how it is.

Unless that Saudi Billionaire turns up soon, it's going to be a long and miserable next 30 years.....

It's definitely wrong to throw serious things like cancer and tumor in trivial things like football, and it's against the rules of this forum too. I said nothing wrong.
I just went back and re-read the rules. The ailment that I used as a metaphor is strictly prohibited. It's not my forum. I will adhere to the forum rules. We should all reacquaint ourselves with these rules on occasion. Lesson learned.

 Can't believe people who still backed Mourinho still existed. We have a goal differential of 0 after almost half a season. Look at the change in Arsenal after 1 managerial change. There was no getting better with Mourinho, it can only get better without him, because this was our floor. This season was worse than it was with Moyes, worse than it was with Van Gaal. We were a fecking mess under him and it was time to go.

Says the individual who takes a comment out of context and then has the cheek to belittle someone about it.
Don't understand. What have I taken out of context?
Didn't you mention Mourinho fanboy alert to my previous post?

Spot on! Now everyone will see how good our WC players like Fellaini, Young, Lingard and Jones, i bet we are now gonna win the rest of the games this season easily!

I don’t back him. I just don’t want to celebrate him leaving because of the state of the club. We are horrendously mismanaged at all levels, starting in 2005.

The football will improve short term, probably win a few games under Carrick or Ole. Then when we lose, the players decide they’re being managed by someone they don’t like and it all happens again. No matter who takes over without a complete overhaul of the club top to bottom, it’ll be more of the same. Moments in amongst a load of shite.

Mourinho signed 11 players. How many actually made a difference to the club? De Gea is our only world class player. Martial and Rashford remain genuine youth talents. Smalling remains our best defender. None of these are Mourinho signings. Mourinho recruited poorly and paid the price. It would be foolish to trust him with another £400m.

Still think he's a great manager, but one who has to have a real big look at his current methods. Not even particularly in regards to his style of football, but his management of egos and players. Players aren't like they use to be anymore, they're shit rich at the age of 18, they seldom possess that drive and determination, he's going to be hard done finding a squad of fighters these days, at least talented ones anyway.

He needs to adapt to the times or he's going to continue to fail.

He is hardly the most concerning of our issues though, albeit the reports claiming we are looking for a DoF is a great start.

In regards to his replacement, my first choice would be the Dortmund boss, not sure if he's available though, same goes for Poch. I'm not particularly keen on Zidane, not sure who we would bring in tbh, not many standout options available.

Uwotm8?

Seriously that's ban worthy that nonsense. Clearly a WUM.

So nothing 'worked' post 2005?
