At last!!! it feels like waking up from a nightmare... Honestly, there was a time I felt that Jose received pay checks from our rivals to have us churn out dross every week.

Thank God the mare is over.. God! We deserve the champions league just to pacify this pain we've been through.

Congrats comrades the virus is gone and Merry Christmas!

According to Sky, when you take all competitions played in (so not just Prem games) Jose was our second most successful manager for win rate.

SAF: 59.7%
Jose: 58.3%
Mangnall: 54.2%
Moyes: 52.9%
LVG: 52.4%
Sir Matt: 50.5%
That doesn't help the narrative.

This was inevitable. His reign had gone stale coupled with a dire style of play makes his firing no surprise. If I supported United I would be furious that he was awarded a new contract in Jan 2018. What in god's name was Woodward thinking or drinking. I would be equally furious for failing he walks away with 20m stg. Fat Sam pulled millions out of Everton when he left. It's a joke and its an insult to paying fans to see their money being pissed away like this. Jose is the third manager United have had to payoff in just over 5 years. Your probably talking the bones of 40m in managerial payoffs. Why isn't Woodward walking?

The news this morning were quite shocking since I wasn't expecting the club to sack him now. There was all this talk about United not sacking managers until top 4 is completely out of the picture, but it seems that things were really bad.

Thankful for the trophies he managed to win for us, especially the league cup final which will always be very special to me since I got to witness it live with my father. Wish Jose all the best in the future.

Looking forward to the future and feeling optimistic although it's quite scary and uncertain. The club really needs to make the right decisions now.

I cant reiterate enough in how much I'm just glad I dont have to see his (Jose) fecking mug and negative demeanour at United.
Already there's a weight lifted off at United.

Very well said mate. Woodward should be out on his backside too for sure. This idea that he’s done a good job commercialy is a load of tosh, selling United isn’t exactly like trying to sell Preston to promoters. We’re a huge pull commercialy with or without this fool.

Who is Mangnall or why does he have exactly the same numbers as LVG ?

Just seen footage of him leaving his hotel, looks like he couldn't be happier. Fecking cnut of man.

The very fact that he didn't even bother getting proper accommodation says it all really, the man is a virus to any club past the second season.
To be fair he couldn't have looked more miserable than he has for the past month.

It's a shame it did not work out to be honest as all we have happening labour rivals laughing at us and knowing we have to "re-build again".

Jose never really catches the imagination , even with the double we looked boring and unexciting which Is a shame.

We still have a serious major problem no matter who takes over the wobbling shop and that's our management/ owners.

I honestly think the problem also stems from here if you even look back towards the end of SAF days. I think Sir Alex saw the total infringment they made after the old CEO left his post. I know the football has dramatically changed between money / agents etc but our next appointment must have the balls to stand up in a clever way against the owners , we must have a very exciting director of football and the manager needs to be at least in the same level as our noisy neighbours and those bellends down the m62.

Who .. the Spurs manager comes to mind but I can't see it happening.. they are moving into an incredible stadium and TH will become a powerhouse once they settle in and they money starts rolling .

I don't think Zidane is the answer at all . He took over a brilliant team with Ronnie.. he left .. Ronnie left.. they are like United at the moment.. headless chickens..

We all know who we should have got some year ago .. but he regretfully chose City .

Liverpool chose a dynamic German who takes serious chances but seems t9 be able to get the best out of over average players . He also seems to be a right lucky bastard but as they say , you make your own luck .

I cancelled Sky Sports the other day after the Liverpool game as I could not take watching the awful football United have been performing and seeing little or no love for our great club been shown by owners / management/ players . I was shocked and after 40 years of loving MUFC have never felt so upset in the way we have become the "laughing giant " of the premiership .

What happens this season who knows but we seem to be totally buggered. How would we all feel if the current stock of players suddenly started battering teams .. if be bloody upset as it should have been like that from day 1 not when Jose left, but I feel it's a lot deeper .

May our future be brighter, may the best club in the world return to bring where they should be .. but please. Please.. set it up this time
.THE RIGHT WAY

Thank you , rant over .

I'm still on cloud nine that the guy is finally gone!
Like winning a trophy. Am actually surprised more people aren't against it. Those matchgoers chanting his name every game must have either been a minority or just being supportive. Wonder what @CA1 will do now

The biggest issue with Mourinho, above all, was that he treated his position with total disdain. Managing a club like United is a privilege. Alex Ferguson is on record saying so. Mourinho behaved as if it was a chore. For that, he’s a wanker. It’s why he’ll be remembered with little to no positivity. Van Gaal and Moyes still hold some amount of good will. Mourinho has none.

Before Chelsea sacked Mourinho the 2nd time, they'd won just 4 in 16, losing 9.

After he left, they went unbeaten for 15 games.

The man is a black hole, sucking in all around him. I don't expect a miraculous return to form, but I do expect us to play like a weight has been lifted. Personally I'm looking forward to seeing a manager who actually celebrates when a goal goes in as if it means something to him.

That season he got sacked at Chelsea makes our current season look like it's going well!
That was shocking, week after week losing to all sorts. And left them something like 15th or 16th. It was incredible.

They had a massive resurgence after that and finished pretty high up.
Not necessarily going to be the same for us, as we've "only" slipped down to 6th (ish, I haven't dared check since Sunday)

Thing is, despite the position he left them in, they were 14 points behind top four. We are 11. Not that much difference.

And it was Chelsea, who have the knack of making immediate returns the next year

Still think he's a great manager, but one who has to have a real big look at his current methods. Not even particularly in regards to his style of football, but his management of egos and players. Players aren't like they use to be anymore, they're shit rich at the age of 18, they seldom possess that drive and determination, he's going to be hard done finding a squad of fighters these days, at least talented ones anyway.

He needs to adapt to the times or he's going to continue to fail.

He is hardly the most concerning of our issues though, albeit the reports claiming we are looking for a DoF is a great start.

In regards to his replacement, my first choice would be the Dortmund boss, not sure if he's available though, same goes for Poch. I'm not particularly keen on Zidane, not sure who we would bring in tbh, not many standout options available.
Why do you still think he's a great manager? I'm genuinely curious. I'm actually amazed anyone can still think that.

His last stint at Chelsea was where Jose lost his mojo. He never really got close to getting it back. He picked the wrong players and the wrong style of play in a Premier League that has changed. Then he proceeded to sit on his laurels and blame everyone else. We should have got Klopp when we had the chance but NOOOOOOO, United don't hire any Krauts. Bad decisions for the last 3 managers.

To be fair, we're doing just as well as last season (19 points behind the leaders), it's just that everyone else improved.

Klopp claims that he rejected us when Woodward called us the 'Disneyland' of clubs

Truth. The results at Chelsea were much worse, but it seems like the misery surrounding both clubs at the time of Mourinho faltering was similar. Just a massive black cloud, players eyeing a sharp exit etc. I hope we get the same lift in morale now that he's gone.

This season was a classical downward spiral. He truly was on a significant upward trend last season and shot himself in the foot signing Sanchez. He destroyed the team dynamics on the field that had scored 4+ goals in 6/7 games of the season. He introduced someone into the dressing room that’s makes absurdly more than everyone else. It was a catastrophic signing. You can argue it was then just the board/Ed’s fault - but I only blame them for the wage they gave him. I blame Jose for the way he put him in the team.

This season just has been petty at best. Someone swinging wildly knowing he’s lost it since the summer.

Fair fecks to you Mourinho. You could have gone on to be one of our best ever but your third season syndrome fecks you again

Don’t forget to blame Woodward, all our conference level players, the big bad ABU media etc. It’s never Jose’s fault he’s a serial winner.

Oh, and have some respect: Don’t you remember that half hour against Spurs ffs!
