You severely underrate Pjanic’s playing ability and overrate Juve’s spending ability. Pjanic is turning 29 in April, for a DLP that’s a nothing age.

Want to make a bet that his next club will not be Juve? £30 donation to the caf.
So if he goes to Juve you pay, but if he goes to any of the other thousands of clubs in the world, I pay?

No thanks.

Like I said, he’ll probably end up at Juve, but I’m not prepared to throw £30 down the toilet on top of the disappointment of him leaving!!

Here's why when he does leave Wolves, it'll probably be for Juve:
  1. He will be better than Pjanic very soon
  2. Pirlo was his idol (hence his "I think, therefore I play" finger to the temple goal celebration), so he will want to play for a team where his idol was so successful
  3. Mendes has taken some of his best talent to Juve in the last few years (Ronaldo and Cancelo)
With all due respect, you know nothing about how Juve operate if you think they'll splash 100m quid to buy a promising player off you.
And for the record, Pirlo was more successful with Milan than Juve. It's like every hipster "discovered" Pirlo after Euro 2012. Buona giornata amico.

He's the one for me. DLP. However,I jus get the vibe we won't go for him and City will nab him. Will be a wasted opportunity for us,his passing game is brilliant.

Whatever you like. You’ve already quoted me so if he does go to Juve you can bump this and show everyone. But he won’t.

You know what they say. I’m not always right but I’m never wrong. :smirk:

City needs to find a replacement for Fernandinho. A DLP like Neves is not the right type in my opinion. They have 2x Silva's & De bryune doing the work that he would do for us.

I think City will generally stay clear & neves himself would have to compete for the likes of Fernandinho, Gundogan, Silva, Debryune, Bernardo Silva & Foden to even get a sniff.

I wouldnt worrry about them - more likely a foreign club or Chelsea - but I see us having a good chance.

Hopefully he stays with us for a lot longer and helps to make the Midlands less mediocre! ;)

He will leave at some point in the future, but I expect it will be to a top, top side. Probably Man City or Juventus.
Yeah, a wolves fan trying to be snide. Soon you'll be back to where you belong, championship.

I don’t. He won’t go for £100m. £60-70m tops, when Mendes and Neves decide it’s the right time.

And for the record, Pirlo was more successful with Milan than Juve. It's like every hipster "discovered" Pirlo after Euro 2012. Buona giornata amico.
I know, but the fact he was there two and a half times longer had something to do with that!! He also said he preferred his time at Juve as he was played in his best position.

Oh look, an ignorant Man United fan who knows nothing about what’s happening at any club not in the top 6.

Read the rest of this thread and you’ll realise we probably won’t be back in The Championship any time soon.

Here’s one for you and I want you to remember it. Wolves will finish higher than Man United in the Premier League within the next 5 seasons :D

Yeah I agree. Someone like Frenkie De Jong is perfect Fernandinho replacement, not the likes of Neves.

High crime rates, high pollution etc?
Nowhere has high crime rates and pollution if you're rich.

The difference is Wolves had Beatties and London has Harrods (and about a thousand other obscenely decedent shops someone is inevitably going to point out is so much nicer than Harrods, which is inevitably just a tourist trap for rich chavs or something like that). And it's not just department stores, it's everything. There's a step up in luxury that exists in a couple of major cities (London even more so) that doesn't anywhere else. And why would it? What's the point in trying to cater that to somewhere with 260,000 people?

Yeah, I’d agree about the city of London having more appeal. But Manchester?

Wolves has Birmingham that’s 20 mins away on the train, or London that’s 1.5 hours away and just as many lovely rural retreats as somewhere like Manchester.

Here's one for you and I want you to remember it. Your entire club only got to where you are now because of crook Mendes and his cronies. Once they are done with Wolves, you will be back in the Championship. We would win the title within the next 5 seasons and you will be relegated.

Juv are a bargain bin club. Ronaldo was an investment for their brand that's why they splashed the cash.

They won't pay what Wolves will want.

That needs to be a tagline.

Man Utd could literally have any player they want from your team, whenever they wanted.

Wow. Talk about getting ahead of yourself Mystic Meg.

United have had a terrible season, sacked the manager, players stopped playing for Jose for a long period, yet we are still 12 points ahead of Wolves with a +9 goal difference.

Perspective.

Maybe. But Mendes has more of an interest in our growth than other clubs he deals with, so wouldn't unnecessarily move Neves on if it were to affect that.
Wolves fans should pay attention to the highs and lows of Valencia and be very cautious. Jorge Mendes does what's best for Jorge Mendes, sometimes that will be good for you but some other times it won't.

I think he can keep getting you players to remain a decent Premier League team but dreaming of being part of the top 6 in England in a nearish future is being way too optimistic.

What evidence do you have that the man Sir Alex Ferguson speaks so highly of is a crook?

There’s more chance of Wolves catching you than you winning the title at the moment.

You’re living in the past! Man United used to be able to buy almost any player from almost any team, whenever they wanted. The way the finances are now, most clubs don’t have to sell any more if they don’t want to. Last summer should have taught you that.

Maybe, but I genuinely believe we will continue to push on and unless you get your next managerial appointment bang on, you might stagnate or go backwards! Do you trust Woodward to get it right? I don’t!!

Yeah, Valencia and Monaco are clubs that despite having a lot of success working with Mendes, have also had their struggles.

This is where the unique ownership situation comes into play at Wolves.

The main man at a Fosun, Guo Guanchang, owns a significant stake in Mendes’ agency Gestifute through a separate business. So our owners Fosun do not own any of the agency (as this would go against FA and PL rules), but are close business associates of Mendes.

So unlike all the other clubs Mendes has been associated with, we are the probably the only ones where he has cared what the owners think, as indirectly, they are major shareholders in his own business.

So it’s in his best interests not to screw us over and to help us get to where the owners have stated they want to take us!

"You genuinely believe", put you're money on it lads, he has genuine belief.
Would you agree that Wolves have the same chance of being relegated as United have at winning the League?

You'd be surprised. Manchester is at least a step up from Birmingham on the cultural and luxury step. Wolverhampton also doesn't have the population to sustain a significant capacity stadium.

I wouldn't take Wolf's bet, stranger things have happened in a 5 year period... it's not likely, but certainly possible

Quite simply a must-buy player. Getting a player to replace/compete with Matic in the deeper role is just as important as bringing in a new CB, and this guy is already playing at a high level at such a young age. 100m for him would represent better business than dropping a similar amount on Koulibaly.

Few games I watched, I wasn't very impressed with him. He looks talented player but haven't seen anything that says "spend whatever it takes to sign this player" type.

He played some good passes vs Leicester, must be his first big contribution in months.

I knew we had fallen, but not to the point Wolverhampton FC fans would be thinking they will be finishing above United in the near future. fecking hell.

@WolfInSharp'sClothing looks to be the Wolves version of Glaston.

But hey can't blame a fan for not being optimistic about their club.

Is this a prelavent opinion on Wolves forums? Heard a contributor (Wolves fan) on the Totally Football show say the same thing but she was even more optimistic that Wolves may finish higher than Man Utd this season. To be fair, this is immediately after OGS appointment.

Absolute wummery in this thread. These guys struggle to win at home but apparently one injury time winner does wonders to the confidence of some fans these days.

That's right but when a player wants a move to a bigger club (wages, challenge etc), he and his agent will force the club to sell.

In Wolves defense they are a great side. The only thing stopping them from being comfortably 7th is a proper goal scorer. I think there are too many financial restrictions in place for another Chelsea or City club to emerge but for what they've done on a lot less money, they're doing a great job while playing lovely football.
