Lot of very good players there. British players (especially 70s/80s ones), don't seem to get the love, even ones with excellent records and European trophies.
Friday would be my preferred day.
The countries with the biggest amount of popular players among drafters are Brazil, Germany and Italy and there is a significant correlation with the success of their national teams.
Someone like Moore is hugely respected here and seen as one of the greatest defenders ever.
That’s true about Moore.. At the same time people respect Charlton but he’s somehow not always the go to no. 10 or picked as often..
The same can be said about a lot of British players from 1970’s and 80’s despite their great European success.. I remember @oneniltothearsenal and I discussing how we underrate some players from the great Forest team. Robertson, Anderson, McGovern aren’t picked as often as they should
Think Charlton is fairly rated on here. The number 10s who are usually picked before him are Diego, Zico and Platini and if you watch them play it is okay to say they were more gifted and their peak level was higher. There is also Zidane, who is hugely unpopular at the moment, and I don‘t know how good Charlton‘s case is to be regarded as the better player as him.
The Forest players are less likely to be known/rated among fans because they had zero national team success and also because they played for a club which is not among the biggest around in today‘s age. Liverpool‘s legends / former players are everywhere and we are constantly told how amazing they were, including in highlight reels. I know some people on here watched millions of hours of old matches, but you need to have a special kind of motivation to sit down and watch old Forest matches, or you are old enough to have watched them at the time.

Just clarifying the reinforcement round.
I’m guessing once all matches are played in rd1 bidding will start again on players, 1 or 2 or unlimited nominations at a time?
We get an additional 50m but still only need to keep a 13 man squad.
Players we sell during reinforcement will still be minus 10/20m?
Our subs from the first game must play this round along with our new signing/s?

the two players that didn't play in the 1st round should play in the QF's. All other players can be sold.
We don't have to have 13 man squad but required 11. Technically if you buy a player for the QF it's not required to play him, just those two that didn't play last round.
If you sell them to the bank you are docked 10-20m, unless traded with other managers.
So I can sell 3 of my first team, buy just one new player. So I Only have a squad of 11?

Squad of 13 at all times.. After QF no obligation to play your whole squad though..
You can sell/trade any of the starting 11 with the same rules as before (10/20mn loss if sold to bank)
Your 2 bench players must play in QF.

Seems tough to upgrade in this round while being docked for selling.
Playing my two subs aswell, it will be difficult not be fielding a weaker team than the first round.
@Indnyc I don't see in the rules to have 13 man squad going forward rather than just utilizing all 13 till the QF's? It's important detail because we have drafted with that in mind (squad minimum of 11 players post 1st round) and I suppose most of the others as well...
The rules say nothing like that. It just says that the subs from the first round have to play in the QF, not that we need to have a squad of 13 at all times.
Please don't change the rules in the middle of the draft.
We drafted under the assumption that you had to keep 13 throughout as it would be the default position in any draft.
Skizzo clarified this in the thread at some point. Not sure if everyone read though.
Pretty sure in past auction drafts you could sell all your reserve players at any time.

You sell both and you get 30m. Add on the 50 and the budget is 80.
That's the spirit
80 is not much when the players you want to replace cost 50m total.
You basically upgrade
a 30m player into a 50m player
and a 20m player into a 30m player
Where's the point
Marginal upgrades at best
