Was it just some sort of misunderstanding? Maybe he thought Sarri was subbing him for injury, when his manager actually wanted Cabellero in there for the pens.

But it could be a tactical move! Caballero is a strong keeper on penalties AND he knows the City players - it’s a pretty obvious sub to be fair.
Chelsea have Caballero don't they? He is a penalty specialist and one of the best in the world at them.
It's true. I can't put a positive spin on Kepa here even if I try

Kid needs a slap.

Can understand the frustration but you simply can't defy your manager particularly one under siege atm.

Should be sold. Player power at that club is a joke.

Surely though a player cannot refuse to go off? Doesn't the referee have to halt play and ensure the sub is made? Literally no idea what the rules are regards to that.

Oh look, Kepa flaps at another regulation save down low and it goes through his hands.

If i was the new manager, i would sell him asap. How can any manager trust him after this?

Pathetic kid. I think this will come back to haunt him at some point, potentially with the next manager.

That was the only thing I thought. If he thought the only reason he was going off was because of a perceived injury I can see why he'd want to be insistent to his bench that he's fine to continue. However it looks like Sarri wanted to make a tactical change and he's been overruled by his keeper, which is an absolute joke.

If I were a Chelsea fan I’d want this fool out even before Sarri.

If it was just a matter of him being healthy and wanting to stay on he would have said that to Luis who could have relayed a message. At no point should a manager make a change and a player over rules it. If I were the next manager he wouldn’t play for me either. Terrible example and precedent to set.

We’ve just seen another match today affected by a player perhaps over stating his fitness, and then getting reinjured. Putting too much stock in a player saying they want to continue in or fit for a big game is often going to end in tears.

If they had any proper authoritative figure there, they would eat him alive, who the feck does he think he is in that situation? Crazy. Can't see Sarri playing him, can't see any future manager being super thrilled to have him as well.

Yeah I'd like to see the relevant rules too.

Jorginho is a massive waste of space, really poor player. Have no idea how many times he lost the ball today. These players want Sarri sacked

Under a tree.
If you pulled this kind of stuff in a normal work place, blatantly refusing to do what your manager is telling you, you would be sacked.

There's no better way of getting the manager sacked than losing on penalties. It's the ultimate mark of disrespect. Losing in regular time just doesn't have the same symbolic power.

Don't underestimate what David Luiz did during that incident, he was whispering to him and was hardly pushing him off the field.

Where was the captain during all this?

This is on Azcipuleta as well. He's the captain and Spanish and should just have dragged him off the field. Image what Keane would have done if someone pulled this off.

Did you see Rudiger holding off Sarri like a child to prevent him from speaking up? Sarri has been humiliated here, the dressing room is definitely lost. I feel sorry for him, he's all about football philosophy and the players have binned him quicker than Villas Boas.
