Looks like @GlastonSpur has got into KDB's head

‘Everybody talks about the stadium like it’s something special,’ De Bruyne said. ‘Everybody has a stadium. Everybody has supporters.

‘I don’t care about the stadium. I care about the team we play. They’ll be up for it. I don’t think there will be any difference.

‘They’ll probably be a little bit more excited but in the end it’s a stadium with supporters. If they go to Wembley with 80,000 or there with 62,000, it’s going to be the same. It’ll be a tough game but I think we’ll be all right.’

What exactly would be the solution if they find there are sight-line issues with this last row that is still being monitored? Surely there's not much they can do about it now.
And here's the explanation:

"The first two rows of both the stands, behind each goal, were unavailable for the stadium’s opening game against Palace, due to concerns over camera placements blocking sight-lines. The second row of both stands will be open tomorrow after the concerns proved unfounded, with the club set to monitor the front rows with a view to opening them soon."

https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...r-man-city-clash-at-new-stadium-a4112016.html

So, as I suggested before, it's all down to expected teething problems - not something that can't be fixed.

I'm sure Glaston can confirm this but I have been lead to believe that the name of the new end is "The White Wall".

Are they aware this was also the name of a part of Chelsea's Shed? Plagiarism suit beckons.

I myself have a few of those in my own home. I think it's a bit too generic to sue.

To be fair, he's always like that. He's not exactly a journo's dream when answering these generic (and mostly moronic) questions. Tells what he means, which is mostly just that he doesn't care (about anything really). :D

As far as I'm aware it's called the South Stand. If it were to have colour-related nickname it would be the Lilywhite Wall.

He'll soon find out his mistake. It won't be the same. The atmosphere will be very different - far more electric. And the acoustics are very different - the sound at our new stadium will be deafening.

That's more down to the cock-up job the electricians you hired did though.
I jest

Max Rushden the other day was saying that after the first 15-20 minutes, the Palace supporters were the loudest in the ground and he's a Tottenham supporter (after Cambridge).

I think tonight will be different due to the game, but on most match days I'd still expect the away fans to be more vocal than home fans, it happens at most stadiums around the country.

For clarity : Is there a single person that doubts how awesome Spurs new stadium is? I’m certain that all fans would take it as their own and everyone appreciates the fact that when it comes to buildings, new always trumps old in the arena space.

The atmosphere will be great. Facilities are awesome. The whole experience will be better for match day fans.

However.... no significant revenue will be generated on non match days. The cheese room absenteeism is shocking, nobody is going to stay late or come early. It’s just a bit of grass with seats. The shop will still only sell Spurs merch therefore have no increased commercial value. It cost a fortune. It’s a huge gamble. The NFL logos on the club website are tawdry and nobody envy’s the money, nor the commercial ties because America is a shithole country and the NFL is a shithouse sport. The transport links are shocking and the planned improvements do not help 60,000 people leave quickly. They won’t fill it every week. The area is a solid 15-20 years away from needing the stadium (this is kind of understandable). Beavertown is the bomb and the installation of the brewery is an absolute master stroke.

Post all the laughing emoticons you like, but what I've said is true. Despite whatever KdB might wish to believe, the experience won't be the same as going to Wembley.

I suppose Wembley does hold 90k, whilst NWHL only holds 62k. That's nearly 50%, so that must mean that the stadium will be nearly 50% quieter.

That's probably just as well for you after having posted the above comments … best keep yo' head down and not use any transports links whatsoever, shocking or otherwise, to go there.

Must it?

Perhaps there's one or two factors you've not taken into account.

Great comments by KDB, telling it like it is.
How would he know how it "is" when he's not been to our new stadium yet?

More like "telling it like he wants to believe"

It's just a stadium ffs not a space shuttle, never seen anyone being absolutely obsessed with a fekin stadium. I hope you won't marry it and announce it to the world.

He lives there.
And every night he watches Kevin Costner, (what is the name of the movie), Field of dreams? Maybe. You know the line, right?
"If you built if, they will come"
In this case "they" means trophies.. or cheese. Not sure.

I don't get why everyone is talking about it like it's an 8th wonder of the world. Nice stadium but nothing special.
