fair point i think burnley may hold arsenal to a draw. brighton will get ruined IMO
Arsenal are so poor away, they might even get beaten by burnley, who knows, it's going right down to the wire, provided we win our matches

You don't during a few friendly games in 1 month either. Feel like everyone throw all the hope usually on a good preseason. Last season everyone was hoping Sanchez will be great again once he has a good preseason. I get the idea about the hope but don't put much expectations that after a few friendly games in 1 month the team will look 180 degree different. You are setting yourself up for a disappointment.

For me preseason are just meaningless games about building up your fitness for the upcoming season after a long vacation. The style itself is only built by playing it regularly week in week out in the season itself. You can't build a style just in 3 or 4 friendly low-intensity games. It's built during the season.
Its more building the team from a fresh start, starting what you want to do from a style of play POV, fitness POV, and let the team cohesion build over a summer with players leaving and incoming. It's next to impossible to have proper time to focus on all those things when you take over half way through a season and find yourself in a really tight battle for multiple competitions.

I think we'll start seeing his work clearly about 2 or 3 months in the season rather than from the first few matches. By end of October I think we would be able to reach a proper conclusion on Ole. Hopefully it'll be alright.

So

We win two games
Spurs lose their last one
Arsenal gets a draw

That's what needs to happen?

Also, how are the rules regarding FA cup winner, also uefa winner and cl winner if they are from epl?

Improvement at the very least. I always feel like after big changes like this summer for example, the more time with those changes should see a positive impact. As long as the positive impact is there overall (runs of form either way is not included in this), then they should stay. Van Gaal was on a positive trend until a few months into the 2nd season, and then it went really badly (after a really poor summer and pretty much all of his signings failing). Mourinho was on a positive trend for 1.5 years, but then from January 2018 onwards it went to shit. Ole took over, had a good instant impact and then the squad tired and couldnt keep it up, and notably the glaring issues in the squad became exposed and are holding us back. You would assume if we fix those issues with his types of players, then we'll improve. If we keep improving then there's no reason to move on from him. Doesn't take too long to spot progress IMO, but you also need a pre season and a summer window to have a chance to put your stamp on the team. Taking over mid season, all you can do is some minor instructions and motivation, no squad overhauls.

Fingers crossed we'll have a good summer and that will reflect on us having a good season. Let's hope.

Or Chelsea gets 2 points max from Watford and Leicester away. 2 of those 3 with United beating 2 relegated sides sees us in.

Fa cup doesnt matter. CL winner only has an impact if Spurs finish 5/6 and win CL while the other 5/6 spot wins EL. EL winner and CL winner qualify no matter what, and 1 nation can only have 5 total.

Lets hope so. Tbh I think to have a good season we need a right back, 2 midfielders and a right winger. If we dont sign the tight midfielders, the midfield will look a mess. If we dont sign a right back, we'll have to rely on Dalot and he isnt ready. If we dont sign a right winger, our attack will look unbalanced, non existent on the right, lacking proper creativity, etc. We all know the CB is an issue too but that's looking unlikely, so even with those 4 I'd expect us to have defensive issues if we ignore CB like Liverpool did until they signed Van Dijk.

CL has priority. So if Tottenham and Arse/Chelsea win the CL and they both end up in 5th-6th, Tottenham would get the 5th CL spot.
If Watford win the FA cup they will qualify to the EL, if not then 7th place (should be Wolves barring a miracle) will take that last EL spot.

Same. These are my priorities. Though we'll have to see if any big games aka De Gea is going to leave too. Gonna mess our market a little bit.

I almost prefer Chelsea and Arse ending Top3-4 rather than Utd if that means watching the Spurs playing the EL next season. 13 defeats, are you kidding me??? Most shameful Top4 team in PL history.

The way I understand it is the 5th champions league spot is reserved for the eventuality someone outside the top 4 wins the champions league or Europa league, no more bumping down If someone already qualified wins it.

I still think Arsenal and Chelsea will drop points, they are so bad, but we have been shite too, just about got over....but still a bit annoyed with such a lacklustre performance against Chelsea, they are absolutely shite at the min, I was convinced we would win that game.

Whichever team finishes third and fourth now should be ashamed whereas fifth and sixth should be downright embarrassed.

Such a bad season for us and yet tomorrow there will only be 2 points between us and Spurs. Says it all really that Poch is still happy with that. Small club mentality.

much better than the rest of us though, they said it themselves. theyre finishing way ahead of us all dont you know?

A good manager, albeit overrated, decent squad, not great, but Spurs will not win the league anytime soon. They aint winning the CL either, obviously

According to Sky Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and Utd have won one of their last 13 games combined. Never seen a “race” like it. The polar opposite of this season’s title race.

Provided we win our last two games one of the last top four spots is ours.

Arsenal and Chelsea will both drop points today (fancy two home losses!)

I have put 10 pounds on Watford winning today. I think they have a chance with Deeney also back in the squad.

Have I got this right?
1-4 places - CL (group stage)
5th place - EL (group stage)
6th place - EL (qualifications)

FA cup - EL (group stage?)

If Watford wins, 6th place misses on EL?

6th gets Europa as City won the League Cup. 7th will get it if they also win the FA Cup.

Nope, League Cup winner gets into the qualification stage but City won it so that place is given to 6th. Watford winning the cup would stop 7th from getting EL.

Thank feck that’s over.
Least we deserve and I say that knowing that Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea are fecking shit.

We’re on a new level. I’m not confident what needs to be done will. And it’s a massive task.

Thank you, Ronaldo and Raw.

So, Wolves can even get in Europe? Nice I guess, though, think I'd be happier with Watford.

Anyway, I want us to play qualifications as early as possible. Think that would be better than friendlies.

We did better than i thought in the end. I think we were in top 4 for a week, i said we wouldn't be in it all season.

Ah its gone... fair play to the few on here that still had hope that United would finish in the top 4. Big clear out needed now where its going to take a number of summers to get rid of all of the deadwood. Any players brought in this summer must be leaders as the players there at the moment are headless and clueless

Honestly thought United would atleast take it to the final day and maybe even steal a spot.

Huddersfield hadn't picked up points since their win against Wolves in February. Even, we managed to beat Huddersfield and our away form is horrific.

Would be galling if Spurs lose their last game and Arsenal get less than 71 points.

Having said that, today against Huddersfield we saw the real Manchester United this season.

It was always a long shot after the Jose mess.

It's not the disaster some people make out. History has shown it doesn't make that much difference in attracting players, and if we're not going to be competitive in it, is it even that great? We scored 1 goal in 5 Home games in it this season - dreadful.

It won't hurt us to rebuild now
