Really don't want start an off topic but is this a parallel universe where Chiesa is better than Dybala?

No one is paying Bale’s wages.
Agreed. Cue the standard comments about Woodward but after Sanchez I can't see us going down that route again and I'll be glad when Bale does move as hopefully it'll finally end the boring repetitive comments about us getting him.
Happy for him. Hopefully gets more playing time for them.
Missed a few months due to surgery on an injury. As much as I like him, I think it was right to sell due to his fitness record but to this day we're still struggling to find a 'proper' replacement for Gary Neville.

They are prolonging their stay at the top. They sign top players every summer and we cant even sign one top CB or winger.
It is one of the reasons we are where we are.

Manchester City while on top keep adding and improving on what they have, continuously keeping players on their toes.

You go back as far as SAF and we NEVER did this, we rested on our laurels for far too long, relying on one or two players to be the spark and it has severely bitten us on the arse. The baffling thing is we still act this way.

It is sad that we never really capitalised on this while we were on top, we could have won for decades had we got it right... Instead we opted for the likes of Owen/Valencia and to bring Scholes out of retirement..

Wouldn't mind Bale on reduced wages - only on loan. Can play on right or centre.

Woody should be scared for life by now with all these big money failed signings he’s made.

Going after another big name €100 million player should be the the furthest thought in his mind.

The overall standard of the squad needs improving! throwing Dybala on top of this mess will just be another failure to add to the list.

Not that anything in this thread has any chance of happening mind, but it’s fun to speculate/moan about.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: When a club like Madrid tell players they can leave, it's because they're in decline.

If Bale turns out in a United shirt next season we're a laughing stock.
Generally yes but Arjen Robben was a huge exception. Arguably, he had his best days at Munich.

Similar to their singing of Bernardo. Nice and efficient.

Remember when so many people freaked out about City getting Mahrez? Any improvement they can make is negligible at this point.

Rather we go for Dybala than Gareth Bale if it means we won't go near the crocked Welshman

Dybala is only 24, loads of ability and entering his prime years soon. Let's get him

Is Ceballos any good ?
Yes, and I think he would fit nicely in our 433 system. I have a few friends that are Real Madrid supporters, and they cannot understand why he isn't given more game time. He has started a few games for Spain this season, even though he has been out of the Real team. If we can get him for around 30 mill, he would be an absolute steal in my eyes. He was heavily linked to Liverpool last summer, and I think he would strengthen their midfield as well.

I heard the exact quote from Jesse Lingard was "we need Champions League to attact quality players. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with shite like me." The club cant confirm or deny at this stage.

But if he's good enough, why aren't Real keeping him themselves? They don't sell players that they rate

Being in the CL got us players like Young, Jones, Lingard etc.

I am really not bothered about the standard of players we get without CL, considering those clowns played for us in the CL and Young captained the side v Barcelona.

Same shite every summer unfortunately. Any signings City/Liverpool make are greeted with howls of drama. Always made out like it's prime Messi, and how they "aren't messing around".

You'll also see the words 'scary', 'frightening', and 'terrifying' thrown around when discussing their future lineups.

You're also right about any improvement being negligible. Diminishing returns.

This is a team who over the past couple of years have had a midfield 3 of De Bruyne, Silva, and Fernandinho. Yet somehow we are supposed to be fretting over Bruno Fernandes. Please.

Because they have other better players in midfield. The likes of Modric, Kroos and Casemiro. Plus Isco and Valverde. They will also add Pogba and or Eriksen. Some players need to go to also fund some spending and Ceballos is probably not the type of midfielder Zidane maybe wants or likes. But he is really talented. When i saw him for For Spain u21 and Betis, he was running the show. They bought him for a reason, but sometimes things dont work out. I would buy him for a decent price without thinking, he has some proper talent.

Like Sneijder and Robben?

Bale on loan wouldn't be the worst option.

That City tweet about them getting rid of those players is a bit confusing, shouldnt they offer them new contracts, whats going on.

They are only 26 (possibly 29) points ahead of us and they are trying to improve their team.
Absolutely no need to panic, everyone stay calm, everything is fine.
