Isn't it for Italy only though? That's what I got from the news I read.

Anyway, it will be crazy if we really manage to land De Ligt - will lay the foundations of the young and hungry team that Ole wants.
I would guess that the ban doesn't really amount to much, he will just employ an intermediary for show, maybe even a different agent who will skim a bit of profit.... beyond that I wonder how this works with Bosman and free movement, if the agent is banned does that not restrict the players movement? there would have to be a way around it, like I say i don't suppose the ban really means all that much

I think Ajax would prefer to sell to us, they'll get a lot more money and add on's if we ever win anything ever again.

I'd offer them as close to £100m as we can go, talk about future captaincy, building a team around him, £200k a week, all in.

Barcelona will be looking for a discount after signing De Jong. They love a 2 for 1.
Think we should be able to get him about 75m, if he wants to come here and become a big part of our hopeful resurgence. If he forms a watertight CB duo with Lindelof, it will be a great start to building a great, new side. Will also make us a bigger threat at setpieces - he reminds me of Vidic when attacking a cross.

Oh chuck him the vice-captaincy at least as well, if not the armband outright.

Doesn’t mean a thing. Players have multiple agents who broker these deals in any case. A ban for an agent has zero effect on player movement.

He’s definitely off, just the destination to be decided.

Fergie always said if you have 2 quality CB's and 2 quality CF's you'll win the league.

Perhaps not so much anymore but that's your foundation right there.

Mental folk critiquing him.

19 years old captaining a Ajax side who put out Real, Juve and nearly reached the final.

Clueless. He’s the defender of this generation.
I have mostly seen critique about the performance yesterday, which maybe wasn't too good. Not critique against him overall. Most people seem to already agree that he will become one the best CB of his generation.

I know Ajax got taken last night but this guy was brilliant and we should try to make an offer that he can't refuse: although I sense he will indeed refuse!

More than any other player in the world, this would be the signing to signal a new beginning for United.

Who are we to talk about what's highly unlikely after the last 2 nights football. You just never know.

To build on that, it imagine getting both Varane and De ligt this summer.
Both are the best defenders of their respective generations.
I think people are too harsh on Varane. He s part of the champions league most successful team in history. Yes they had one of the best players ever, but all great sides do. 4 champions league titles. 4. In 5 years. Twice as many as SAF in 26 years.
Since when was success a reason to bash on a player? De ligt next to Varane would gives us the best defense in the world quite soon and a basis for a great team.

Been banned from operating for three months, his clients are going no where this summer.
Raiola isn't actually his agent, he is just helping broker deals because his agent doesn't have the experience as this level.

We wont have the budget for that though. If De Ligt comes and forms a solid partnership with Lindelof, I will be more than happy.

i'd be happy with just one quality CF at the moment.

but De Ligt and Lindelof would be a great central pairing to start a rebuild.

I'd sooner smash a tin of quality streets at the moment than wonder if we are signing De ligt

Why would the club spend close to the entire transfer budget on two center backs when we already have Lindelöf who has perhaps been our best player this season?

Van Der Sar speaking to Sky Sport italia.

Between us and Barca I'd say.
tbh I cant see him going anywhere other than Barca but I guess it's encouraging that England was name checked by someone who would presumably know who wants him

Could mean Liverpool / City are after him also.

Not looking forward to a future of VVD / De Ligt for Liverpool.

I could be wrong but I dont see him at Liverpool. City I guess if they are getting rid of Kompany could be after a CB as Pep obviously isn't convinced by Stones or Otamendi

Liverpool I think have high hopes for Gomez, so hopefully that is the case and they aren’t interested as others have said don’t fancy the idea of a pool back 4 consisting of TAA,VVD,DeLigt, Robertson along with Fabinho protecting them.

Still think Barca would be favourites but if they are after Griezmann as well, hopefully we can sneak in the back door which would really only leave City as competition. Trying to keep myself tethered and convince myself we have no chance, but the muppet inside is telling me there is always a chance and just to give in to the hysteria.

We all love United
Was he the one being nutmegged by Danny Rose of all people which led to the Spurs first goal? Do not want

But seriously he's a tank for a 19 year old, not sure how quick he is though. Reckon his pace is just about the same as Lindelof?

I don’t think CB is Liverpool priority this summer, they will spend majority of their transfer budget on a striker and winger imo.

But I can see city going for him though

Hopefully this PL dominant CL will make us as a potential team more eye catching than if Barcelona went on to win the CL.

Hopefully he may be a bit like Neymar - not wanting to just follow de Jong to Barcelona and looking like just another part of the plan.
He has the ability to be the main player here.

I'd say PSG have a chance if money is a big issue to him. If not us have a good chance. Spurs could go for him if they win the CL too if they plan to progress from that rather than just be happy that they achieved it once.

I see Klopp going for Tah maybe - if they feel like they need it. Think they would focus on a good back up for Firminho and a CM that can create more chances.

I’ll say it again give him the wages, the armband and get this over the line. He’ll be key to this rebuild.

Don't agree. They could do with a permanent partner for Van Dijk, especially as Gomez has had a few problems with injuries. Matip is a bit mixed and Lovren might leave for more regular football. I think they would be very interested in De Ligt.

It's us or Barca.
Barca then.

I mean seriously the only reason to join us is money and it has really not gone well when we have overpaid.

There are many other clubs interested in reality. In fact all the big ones.
