I think Romero would be found out pretty quickly at this level. He was known as a bit of a clown before we signed him, a handful of wondersaves in a few league cup games haven't changed that.

Edit: Hmm, thought I quoted a post about Romero, weird. Anyway, not really a discussion for this thread.

ManUtd has made a first offer to the OL for Moussa Dembele around 45M € . The Mancunian club is waiting for an answer from his Lyon counterpart

Fernandes is actually someone I really want ending up here. I'd be gutted if City got him.
That's what will happen. City get Bruno and we'll get Longstaff.. But hey, our new superstar manager Olsy knows best! Someone please wake me up from this nightmare please.

Will Longstaff be a Matic replacement? What happened to the links with Rice?
Yes he'd be the Matic replacement. Rice is going to be double the price, so I'd agree with the club looking down other avenues. I like Rice as I see a possible future captain material in him. But Longstaff looks a more natural midfielder. Shame he got injured as looked very good prior.

Will wonders never cease, MEN actually saying we want someone as opposed to the usual "United aren't interested in X target mentioned by other sources".
To be fair to the MEN they've been mostly right in those assessments so far this window.

Dembele is an upgrade on our current options, if Inter are willing to swap Skriniar for Lukaku and cash then he'd be a solid replacement and allow us to upgrade the defence.

I'd be happy with Moussa Dembele. He's experienced and has scored a more than respectable amount wherever he's played with a shade over a 1 in 2 average of goals to games. Also, he's still only 22.

Granted he's not played at the top level, but at the age of 22 to have scored that many irrespective of the league is a good indicator of quality.

If we're selling Lukaku for 75m+ and bringing him in for just over half the price to ease the burden on Rashford, I'd say it's a shrewd deal.

Of all the striking choices we could make, he’s a very underwhelming choice.
Who have we been linked with?

Think I'd prefer Jovic but at the reported price, Dembele might make more sense. Admittedly i've only seen him a few times this season but i like what i've seen.

The price for Jovic is only €5m more than the price for Dembele, isn't it?

22 years old. Good finisher. Decent movement. Not bad price.

I think it could prove to be a shrewd signing.

According to Marca, Frankfurt are holding out for 70m euros. Madrid obviously trying to get him for less. Now imagine if we enter the race. Watch the price skyrocket. A bidding war between Real Madrid and Man United is every clubs wet dream.

Oh possibly? My bad. I'd heard €70m but that was a few weeks ago.
No worries - looks like you had it right:

I personally don’t think AWB is technically good enough to play in Pep’s system, but obviously Pep knows best
Would have loved Rodri but looks like he has offers from Barca, City and even Bayern and we,in our current situation have no chance competing against those three, sad really, would have been perfect

The moment to get him was last summer from Villarreal, as many on here said at the time.

No chance now.

Atletico was his boyhood club IIRC and he’s from their academy. So maybe they had a deal with him super early especially considering it was really low, something like 20 mill. La Liga clubs have definite advantage over foreign clubs when it comes to players in La Liga, they see the player more often and it’s easier to make deals with other clubs, especially when there are release clauses involved
