Let's say Madrid are offering £200k a week. How much do you think it would take for him to sign for Manchester United right now?
Madrid are in an equally bad shape as we are right now.
It would never happen but its striking that both our situations aren't seen in a similar light.

Shame for the league, he's been the most talented player in the premier league since he joined it by a distance IMO. Certainly top 2 with Aguero if you're looking at impact since 2012. Can't believe Chelsea managed to hold on to him for so long. He's instantly going to be only behind Messi in the league over there, while I can easily see Chelsea dropping out of the top 6 next year. They've been so reliant on him for years now, they won't know how to play without him creating everything.

They have had success more recently than United; 3 CLs on the spin has given them a cushion. Plus, when it comes to throwing money at a problem, they generally know what they are doing.

I am still pissed that Sir Alex and David Gill didn't pay his agent fees. No value in the market

Its amazing that Chelsea managed to hold on to this guy as long as they have.
Most likely Madrid bound, unless someone manages to offer him a stupid amount of money.

Hey why don't we get rid of Sanchez and use his wages for Hazard?:wenger:

They aren't though.

They've got a manager that players will like to play for and want to play for and they're in the Champions League.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're major contenders for the CL next season.

It's difficult to judge how much he'll cost, but I definitely think he will join Real Madrid in June. It'll probably be in the region of £130-140m most likely, but he will be in the last year of his contract so it's possible he could go for slightly less.

Don't ignore me please!
I'm no accountant or finance man. With the history of our transfer with Mata and Matic, I feel that Chelsea is willing to do business with direct rival. Hazard afterall is a professional footballer who will consider the best offer.

I can't give you a figure but Ed said that we can match what RM or Barca are offering in term of transfer and wages. Hence, we stand a chance to sign him albeit very unlikely as he was looking for new challenges in Spain. But we can always try!

They've two more points than us, yet we need a scouting revamp as their lack of spending and focusing on cheaper deals sees them eying up a 400m summer to replace a lot of deadwood and aging stars in their squad.
They're also forced to look at simply which big names are waiting out their contracts to get them over the line rather than who best fits into Zidanes brand of football.
They are in no way a sure thing and have a lot of work to do to get back where they are. No ronaldo to paper over the cracks this time. Zidane will need more than get it wide and cross it in to succeed again.

Their form had been awful and they need a reboot but we have been in a free fall since 2013. And even before that Ronaldo preferred an underperforming Madrid to a United side that was probably 2nd best in the world.

This season had been very similar, but overall they are in a much better place to bounce back — especially since they're likely to sign Hazard and at least 2 more superstars.

The Evra interview confirms the rat chose Chelsea for money, not because they won the Champions League nor the agent fee alone.

If this is actually still dragging on then Madrid should offer £60m then reduce it to £55m two weeks before the deadline.

Then just say feck it and pick him up for free next summer. Clubs are going a bit crazy over out of contract players these days.

Fair play to them.

If you want to just steal teams top players all the time, pay up.
I think it's all agreed already and they are just waiting til the end of the season for Chelsea to announce it. Would be really surprised if he goes for more than £85m.

Will be more like £80m, given the last year of contract!

Madrid will never pay £130m for Hazard. It's ridiculous considering his contract. They should offer about half that and if Chelsea reject it then they will be stuck with a player who has been denied his dream move and who has previously given poor performances for an entire season when he was unhappy. He'll just sulk again like he did in 15/16 and Chelsea will either sell for a very low price in January or lose him for nothing.

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
Everyone knows that Zidane wants Hazard and also everyone knows that Real Madrid promised to back him so it would be financially irresponsible of Chelsea not to rinse all they can out of this.

Chelsea won't get £130 million of course but I reckon it might touch £100 mil.

Hazard is no doubt a good player but Vinicius Jr. plays on the LW and has done phenomenally well this past season. Getting Hazard will just stifle his progress.

130m shouldn't be much for Real Madrid I guess. Expected Chelsea to ask for more but maybe the player informed them he wants to leave.

For a player with only one year left on his contract?

I know the transfer market has gone crazy these last few years but there are limits, no?

Chelsea have transfer ban and won't be able to replace him this summer so it's logical they ask for as much money as possible to let their best player leave, otherwise I'm sure they'll feel better keeping him for one more year till the transfer ban is over.

Our strategy of waiting for the last year does not make much sense if in the end we pay so much.
100 / 110m € seems to me more than acceptable, even generous.

I do not think his signing will be ruined now for a matter of money.

Why should Chelsea care about your strategy?
There's a lot of self entitlement that's come from Spain over the last month but its starting to die down.
Maybe reality is starting to bite.

Pulisic is their Hazard replacement. They signed him in January and then loaned him back until the summer because they knew the ban was coming and that Hazard wanted to leave.

Of course they do not have to worry. What I mean is that Madrid should establish a limit.
Their concern is that they lose 100 million if he doesn´t renew.

They have money, pride, and the sanction without signing, but in spite of everything, I do not believe that they´ll let the money escape.

They needed a winger regardless since the two players fighting for the position on the right side are both washed.

But Madrid aren't the only side that could sign him? They could easily get 130m if Madrid wont pay up.

Jovic, Eriksen, Pogba could finish tomorrow in another team, for example Barcelona, but I do not believe it with Hazard, after his multiple statements about Madrid. I think we have a very clear advantage.

They are probably hoping that Hudson-Odoi will be that player. A gamble considering his injury and contract situation but I don't think they have much choice.

When Ronaldo want to leave for Juventus at the end of his career, RM still asked for 100mil. I think 130mil for Hazard in his prime is a very good price even in his last year of contract.

Other big club should offer this price or more to Chelsea to hopefully hijack this transfer. RM was doing the same trick in DDG transfer with us. Lowballing us for a world class player. Hopefully, Chelsea also have a faulty fax machine in the last day of transfer window.

I definitely have more respect for Barcelona as they are willing to pay fair transfer fees even after the targeted player stated their desire openly that they prefer to sign for Barcelona. Not like some other scumbag.

130 million in today's market is absolutely reasonable. I reckon they'll get him, maybe Jovic and a CM. But shifting their old assets will be difficult to balance the books. They've already spent 90 million on Rodrygo and Eder Militao.

Players like Bale, Benzema, Modric will hardly bring in any big transfer fees and it feels like that's starting to dawn on them now. Maybe they can use Bale as a pawn in a potential Eriksen deal to soften the financial hit.
