They're just as bad.

I just literally said if you've watched him and don't rate him then that's fair enough, but to watch YouTube clips and read a forum before claiming to have made an assessment on him is ludicrous.
He might be one dimensional, but you've not seen him show that.
In the time you've spent posting about 80 odd times on here you could've just watched the poor sod play.

It was 70 plus yesterday now its 80 odd times? You're keeping score aren't you? :). Im sorry to break it to you but the vast majority of player assessments on this forum (even of players who play in the PL) are based on Youtube clips, right or wrong. I see a bunch of people here scrambling for streams just to watch united games on matchday, no way all the so called pros on here are watching players like James week in week out but it doesn't stop them making glowing assessments, directly opposite to mine but which im sure you approve of or don't question

The fact that I said those people are just as bad in the same post you're replying to, probably suggests you can't be reliable when reading the Swansea forum either.
You don't have an assessment of James, because you've never watched him play, it's as simple as that.
Of course I'm keeping score of how many times you've posted on here, it's hilarious.

I think I have an inkling as to why so many people don't have faith in this signing.

Under the Sir Alex days, when we did something peculiar, or when we made a left-field signing out of the blue, we had complete and utter faith that we were doing the right thing because we knew there were competent people at the club who knew what they were doing.

Now, we really don't know. Did Solksjaer himself want him? Was it a technical director who we don't even know exists yet? Was it literally just a word from Giggsy? We genuinely don't know, it could have been any one of the above or a number of other things.

Having said that, we absolutely have to give him a chance. And by chance I mean at least a season.

Then stay home. What good comes of them being there if they don't want to be there.
This preseason is going to be the hardest since Sir Alex left. The club needs to reset because none of us are happy with the way shit is going.
This is why I thought the "10 out, 10 in" thread (which was laughed at) wasn't too ridiculous. We've got some talented players with a shit attitude and players who try but aren't good enough.... I know 10 in isn't going to happen, but I could happily get rid of 10.
It was 70 plus yesterday now its 80
No-one's keeping count, it's in the thread tools?

I'm guessing your name is linked to THE "G Daly"?

As it happens, there was a winger who came from a lower league (a much lower league actually). If James is half the player, he'll do me.

That is the thing every other thread people complain about the transfer policy and the clun structure. Why is everyone then so confident on whoever is making the call for James or Longstaff? Because it is probably the same people everyone has been complaining about.

Looks like I have a following.

Seems like you're obsessed. You wouldn't give a damn if my 80 plus posts were favorable to James. Why continue to respond to someone who can't be taken seriously?

Anyone who says a player is a something merchant, really isn't worth taking seriously.

The fact that we have a poster who is on 59 posts in this thread without ever watching the poor lad says it all.
.

To make shy of 40 posts about a player you've never watched, whilst also describing what he's like as a player is a little bit funny.
So you've posted over 30 times in a thread about a player you haven't watched yourself? Weird but fair enough.

Keep counting my friend.

Hands up who's dream it was as a boy to play for Manchester United?
Hands up who wants to play in Spain once day?

I love the cold and the wind and the rain. I really do.

Anyone that raised their hand to the second question. See that door go.

Anyone that said yes to the first question has a chance. Bryan Clough did it. Sir Alex did it.
Play for me and I'll give you the sun.

As I keep saying, and you keep struggling to see (sensing a theme) if you make 80 posts discussing a players quality despite having never seen him play, you're silly.
I have made a few comments about your posts about a player you've never watched on here. The obvious difference being that I've seen your posts, yet you've still not watched James play.

If you had a chance to play for Manchester United. A real chance. Would you jump off a cliff that noone ever had done?

I would. Everytime. If I could be the local hero I'd risk everything.

That's when legends are made. Want to play for this club and damn all the rest!

You would have to sell all of them because they would all be hystercially laughing at this line of questioning.

I hope that if we get this guy well never see Lingard again. He is the embodiment of what's wrong with out club.

I'll put this to the full caf
I can't drink because I need a liver transplant. Making fun of me really hurts.

Florida Man knows my shit. So if you want to try and say I'm drunk then feck you. And feck you twice.

I go to the doctor this week to find out if I'm a viable candidate for a new liver. So well played

For some reason I thought you mentioned having a pancreas issue but it may have been someone else on here. I hope it works out for you my man, you're brave.

Nice length of rope....

I don't think us United fans should be so shortsighted right now.

I see where you're coming from.

Whatever happens, my opinion is that he deserves a season. In my mind, this is under the assumption that we bring another winger in. If we don't, then I'll be majorly concerned. And quite honestly I am pessimistic right now.

I'm confused, first it was Pogba that ruined Lingard and Rashford then it's Lingard that ruined Rashford. These players don't have to be what you want them to be, there is a HUGE chance that Rashford is the person he was always going to be regardless of Lingard. When he broke into the team he didn't have the kind of money he does now (I assume some of the complaining is about how he dresses etc), in terms of his attitude none of you have had a convo with him to talk about his attitude

Are you lingard? You might be right about that, but he's sort of mimicking that clown. It might be that I'm just frustrated and his attitude and lack of sense when posting things makes me angry.

I think he's a young man doing what he wants, I'm still confused as to the attitude part. Has he suddenly become a knobhead? I'm seeing him stop to take selfies with fans and Lingard stopping to have kick arounds with kids, so I don't get it

Bringing the Lingard hate to the Dan James thread when there's already a Lingard thread. :boring:

I really hope not. If that is gone then get me some roses. That's the one that can't be done. If you'd doesn't go well then just remember me that I was a cnut stain on the caf I still get to watch the final and then we'll see.

There's only so much I can handle but I'll go fecking fighting the sun

Who was the last player United signed from the championship or any lower domestic league that became a success?

Such a daft loaded question @Loublaze, how many players have United signed in the past 19 years from the Championship or any lower domestic league?

A better question would be to ask how many top players in the PL have played Championship or lower league and the answer is plenty, not least your favourite former non-league Manchester United centre half.

United as a club have rarely looked at the lower league since the 90’s because we could simply let them join the likes of Tottenham and prove themselves in the PL first, then we’d simply use our financial strength and pull to take them.

Is this transfer still happening?

His father died only last week, I think he has other issues to deal with than declaring a transfer at this time.

I'd say it's already done but waiting for him to be in the correct place before announcing.

Most people at OT are away on holiday. Most players are away on holiday or international duty.

Things will start moving in a few weeks, fans are so impatient.

I can't see why anyone can question this. £15m is a night on the piss for United!

If he flops we can still probably sell him for £10m and that £5m loss would be an investment in kicking Martial up the arse and showing him what committed energy and running looks like.

He’s just lost his father. I guess you don’t know what that’s like for a young person.

I do and apart from all the support I had to give my mum, I couldn’t concentrate on my job so took some time out.

Give the lad a break eh?
i wasn't blaming the lad - which you'd realise if you read the post

If Ole wants them in for the tour, so you would presume he wants them in for pre-season training before we leave, then we really don't have that much time.

Ole said he wanted his signings in time for preseason. This is why I'm surprised by our lack of movement.

Every United manager has said that every summer and it has mainly not happened

LVG said it
Jose said it
Ole has now said it

I expect the same results

This is very true and the likes of man city dont hang around with transfer but they have more pulling power than us and a much better inner fabric.

Yep. It is either we have things in place and we will get a few announcements or we are showing our usual incompetence. We seem to be hearing more about outgoings than incomings and it isn't even good then. We will spend the summer trying to get every last cent for these players, not get it and then be stuck with a lot of disgruntled players, yet are massaging the egos of players who are a common factors during our years of failure after SAF.
