Was it ever on? Taking the red tinted specs off, he would be crazy to join us. Even the money isn’t worth it. Unless he’s a die hard Man Utd fan I just couldn't understand why he’d even entertain the idea. I think it’s all mostly paper talk and fans hoping for something.
Blah blah blah

We will know in a week or so according to himself, hopefully Bruno Fernandes will also give some info. I would rather hear for definite they will not join than go weeks and weeks hoping they will.

Just saw another short interview with him on Dutch TV. Question: "Why is it taking so long??? Why can't you decide?" De Ligt basically answers that it is nonsense, transfer period hasn't started yet, he still has to play games, will concentrate on transfer (or not) after, and that all the stories in the media is just talk and a created narrative.

Reliable Barca journalist giving an update later. Tweet was in Catalan and implied the update would be a ‘gift’.
Just saw it. I have to say made up transfer "sagas” are fun. Anonymous "ITK's" say it's on. Present emoji says it's off.

He's not showing a lack of respect, but telling the lad to enagage the brain and make a decison based on finding the right working enviroment where you can showcase your talent, and grow as person and a professional, and as much as you dislike like what he has said in parts,

Any player with a salt of grain of intelligence, would not sign for the club this summer, if you factor in the clubs poor structure, shockingly bad scouts, no interest or ambition to win any honours, in the foreseeable future, can lackadaisically waste two years, by one not sacking Jose in the summer, if they had reservations, and appoint a technical director to head recruitment, last summer, and the result would be, we would be 1 year into the new project or plan.

Then appointing Ole, who has no gravitaze in the transfer market, and the last 12 games of the season is an indication he is out of his depth, and to compound the issue get phelan on board.

So we will have to wait until next season, to prise or get manager in who will be able to sort the playing side out.
So, basically, De Ligt shouldn’t sign for United because you’re in a massive huff about everything.

Cool.

That sounds ominous.

more like ITK bollocks. Credible local and English papers never said we were in for him, only some Barca journos got briefed by Barca of course. Otherwise yeah, we obviously get used by Barca/Barca journos and Raiola with some fans and some ITK Reddit nonsense jumping on the bandwagon. It was never on

It is pretty funny that people believe the ITK's but when the English papers said we weren't on for him they were "unreliable"

Agree, however the reddit ITK stuff came before the Barca journos

The transfer window is open in England. If he was really off to Utd, he would not have said “the transfer period hasn't started yet”.

Nah, he's just saying most of the shit in the media is made up for clicks, which is true. But maybe there is a small percentage of stories with the right informants. Is it 10%, is it 20%? But more importantly, which are the true stories? Perhaps the true one is that United is currently in the lead.

It's open between English clubs, not internationally.

Well if Barcelona tier 1 says so, then it's over, is it? Or is it not?

Only the buying club's window counts, since it's not actually a transfer window. It's a registration window, during which you're allowed to register new players to represent the club.

As far as I know, no international deals can complete till the FIFA window opens on the 11th?

From the Prem site:

The summer transfer window for Premier League clubs will open on 16 May 2019.

Before then, clubs are able to agree deals for the acquisition of players but, in the case of a domestic transfer, the paperwork cannot be processed until 16 May, once the window opens.

The transfer of players from another national association may take place once the FIFA Transfer Matching System (TMS) opens on 11 June.

This means that any international transfers cannot be processed until the FIFA TMS transfer window opens.

Not that this has a lot to do with De Ligt, mind.

So does that make that "tier 1" journalist bullshit? What did he actually say?

What is this ‘tier’ nonsense people are coming out with nowadays?
