The commercial growth we've made has been overrated. We had the highest commercial revenue before Woodward & Glazers. Since then, we've had the lowest growth % out of the top 6.

The record revenues have coincided with unparalleled TV deals. At a time where TV deals are at their highest. All the clubs are growing rapidly... what are we doing? The commercial & matchday revenues have been flat for the past 3 years. We are relying on the ever increasing TV deals to fund our annual wage increases. We have the highest wage bill in the league. A squad full of overpaid mediocre British players & overrated mercenaries who struggle to finish 4th. So we're not even getting what we paid for.

Our Adidas deal will drop by 30% next season if it goes similar to this last one (which is likely). So that's another expected drop in revenues.

All we serve for is yearly dividends it seems. He, along with the Glazers don't care one bit about the club's future.

That's without getting onto the football side of things, which has been disastrous to say the least.

A trained monkey could have produced similar results to what Woodward has achieved.
Glad someone said it.

Rob Dawson: "Manchester United are monitoring Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller, sources have told ESPN FC.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to sign a centre forward if Romelu Lukaku joins Inter Milan..."
We should sign him anyway. Watched an interview with him and I'm very impressed with his attitude not to mention the attacking tandem he formed with Jovic.

And if it doesn't work out we can always joke about how were trying to emulate Liverpools failures signing the French Crouch.

You two are far from alone.

The basic gist of Majima's post - as posted by many many others - should ideally be stickied; it is unrealistic to expect the vast, vast majority of the caf to be on the level of - or have access to - this level of acumen/information firsthand.

Report suggesting City will pay Felix's release clause.
The young pearl will sign for the next 4-5 years. It will collect around five million.
In Portugal they assure that Joao Felix leaves to the City.
Don’t see City paying that much for a single player. This is probably just to push our hands and get a huge offer from us.

Imho, Haller is the most Lukaku-like player out there, you'll hardly know the difference when you exchange the two.

So the Rumours for United so far have been split into two categories. Young up coming players E.g DeLigt Felix Bruno etc . That now are been favoured to end up at city Or Barca or Real or category 2) young emerging British talent e.g Longstaff , James, Madddison , the guy from Norwich that are very underwhelming for Muppets .

Either way looks like neither The journalist have or Ed have a clue whats going to happen this summer .

Its going to be a long summer

Or there is a 3rd option, we have finally patched the leak and no important information get out anymore such as during Mourinho era.

Would be annoying if this happened..

If they do this, make tons of money on Chilwell and buy Tierney, they'll make tons of money again in 2-3 seasons. If we are supposedly looking for "native" talent, hungry young players, why aren't we in for him when he's available for 30m instead of 80m later.

A serious question. How do you monitor somebody when they aren't playing?

That may be true but I think you forgot we lost more than 20% in commercials revenue in term of euro due to Brexit, otherwise we’d be earning 800-850m euro revenue assuming Brexit haven’t happened in 2016, at that time.

I would think the "monitor" in a transfer sense means could have various meanings. A willing player, club, cost implications, likely bid, possible tapping up of the player, negotiations between various interested parties.

Probably because we don't need to spend 30m on him, and won't need to spend 80m later, either.

We always seem to be "monitoring" instead of actually damn buying and selling. This window is gonna be awful again, can just sense it.

Calm down son, its still early. We need to get these internationals out the way and the players need a holiday. Then we can crack on.

When others around us start to sign and we don't, I'll worry.

Can you guys not take this somewhere else?. I'm not saying it's not interesting but probably not the right thread for it.

It's not possible or easy to accumulate a mass quality of young hungry players. Keeping players happy whilst not playing regular games would hardly increase their value and the club would be paying unnecessary salaries over the course of their contracts. Chelsea has tried a similar policy and has very little success.

We have one player capable of playing left back (I don't count Rojo, Young or Dalot). Most teams that want to win things have two capable players for every position. If we have a decent season, that's 55-60 games. Plenty for Shaw and plenty for Tierney, with the latter pushing the former to keep up his level of performance. IMV it would be a very sensible long-term approach going for him now when he's going for small money.

Transfers of players have to be in tandem with selling. You cannot just buy and then realise you have too many players on your books for the same positions. Not getting rid of unwanted players been a major failure of our transfer policy over the years.

I understand having 2 players vying for a position. However, the incoming player has to be up for the challenge and in many cases would look at the competition ahead of them prior to signing. More so young quality international players likes of Tierney.

We have many other positions to strengthen though, ones that we barely even have one capable player. With LB, we at least have the luxury of a capable starting player. If we want to get some competition for that spot, then we've got to be more shrewd. We are meant to be building a team for the long term afterall.

Probably. Monitor seems to be the buzz word.
