. This is my hope if we do lose Pogba. They'll never find a like for like replacement in midfield, they probably envision a 4-2-3-1 set up with Tielemens and Rabiot in midfield and a #10 being the creative fulcrum of the attack.

Have a feeling Maddison and Brooks are ahead of him on the priority list. For £40 million we should be buying this guy regardless of whether Pogba stays or goes.
He doesn't play for LeicesterWhy don`t you just buy Leicester? (Man City had the same idea on Blue Moon)
Surely not at his age?I just realized that one of his quotes is very strange: "The January loan was the best option at the time, but I want my future to be settled. A definitive transfer seems to be the best option, I hope to stay in Europe. There are already contacts with big clubs, I'm happy about it."
Is he thinking about doing a Witsel or Carrasco?
I don't know, maybe he simply misspoke and meant European competitions but that would be a very weird way to express himself. Though Witsel went to Zenit in 2012, they were the old version of China.Surely not at his age?
That's true, would say a lot about him if he went there now after putting in some good performances in the prem.I don't know, maybe he simply misspoke and went European competitions but that would be a very weird way to express himself. Doesn't really seem the type to go to China. He already has a child too. Seems unlikely. Probably misspoke or meant something different.I just realized that one of his quotes is very strange: "The January loan was the best option at the time, but I want my future to be settled. If this was a quote just after he joined Leicester, it’s probably just summoning his options - 6 months ago I bet they were few and far between given how awful his stint in France has been viewed. 13 games later, he has many more options.Doesn't really seem the type to go to China. Like the whole team at Monaco failed. That shit show of a season that Monaco had is no barometer to judge anyone to be honest. I wouldn’t put stock in it at all.Didnt he fail at Monaco? Are we sure that someone who failed at Monaco just a few months ago is going to be the person to fix the Manchester United midfield?
Rules out English clubs thenI just realized that one of his quotes is very strange: "The January loan was the best option at the time, but I want my future to be settled. What is it telling?Monaco avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth didn't they?
He came to the Premier League and bossed it for a mid-table team, I think that is infinitely more telling.
I can't believe we're not paying that kind of money for that kind of talent, in a position where we need it. It's one of those that makes so much sense that you just feel like we'll never do it.
It's telling us that he's a baller. What is it telling?
Being terrible for Monaco and Monaco being better after his departure tells you that he is a baller? It's telling us that he's a baller.
Being great for Belgium and Leicester does. I've only seen you telling bad about him, but he's still only 22, he had every right for a bad season at Monaco, drowning with a terrible team. Every time I see him play for Belgium, he oozes class. Still raw at times, but he'll get there.Being terrible for Monaco and Monaco being better after his departure tells you that he is a baller?
I don't think you can begrudge him for struggling in a Monaco side that had roughly zero players playing well as they lost almost every game and battled relegation, unless you're looking for us to sign some kind of superhuman who can single-handedly change the fortunes of an entire club (that they recently joined) on their own.Being terrible for Monaco and Monaco being better after his departure tells you that he is a baller?

He came to a mid-table Premier League side and was arguably among the best central midfielders while in England. That, in my opinion, is easily a better benchmark to judge him by.
All three are different midfielders.Have a feeling Maddison and Brooks are ahead of him on the priority list.

That's not the point, @GDaly95 point tells you absolutely nothing, the same way Adrien doing far better tells you nothing about him either. The only actual thing that you can tell is that Tielemans and Adrien have shortcomings and they were better fits for the teams that they joined in January but it definitely doesn't tell you that they are "ballers".I don't think you can begrudge him for struggling in a Monaco side that had roughly zero players playing well as they lost almost every game and battled relegation, unless you're looking for us to sign some kind of superhuman who can single-handedly change the fortunes of an entire club (that they recently joined) on their own.

We'll have to agree to disagree. That's not the point, @GDaly95 point tells you absolutely nothing, the same way Adrien doing far better tells you nothing about him either. Also I haven't said bad things about him, I said that he was bad at Monaco. I have always said that he was young and didn't held much against him.
This is off topic but how did that lad Golovin do at Monaco, I remember people were desperate for him last summer after his appearances at the world cupThat's not the point, @GDaly95 point tells you absolutely nothing, the same way Adrien doing far better tells you nothing about him either. Baller is a little OTT, but I agree you’re being a little harsh on the lad. He’s played for Anderlecht, Belgium, Monaco and Leicester and the only time he had struggled was during his season and a half at Monaco, at a time when every player without exception(?) was struggling too. I think that says more about the inherent issues at the club during that time than it does the best players ability. That's not the point, @GDaly95 point tells you absolutely nothing, the same way Adrien doing far better tells you nothing about him either. Watching him should tell you that, he clearly is.Being terrible for Monaco and Monaco being better after his departure tells you that he is a baller?
It's a risk with only 6 months to go on. Papiss Cisse was a baller for 6 months.Watching him should tell you that, he clearly is.
Agreed, we really could use them both. We need at least 2 quality midfielders no matter what happens with Pogba.Regardless of hype, if he's got great technical qualities, and the potential to be a top CM I hope we sign him.
I'll admit I'm more interested in his team mate Maddison.
He struggled with injuries at first and showed promises but he is inconsistent and I'm not sure what his best role is.This is off topic but how did that lad Golovin do at Monaco, I remember people were desperate for him last summer after his appearances at the world cup
I'm sorry if saying that a player was bad is too harsh but he was bad. It doesn't mean that he is a bad prospect and I have always made the distinction, my point is and has always been that we need to treat him like the prospect that he is instead of hyping him up and not actually taking care of him by pretending that he is far better than he actually is. I have no issue with Tielemans, I have an issue with people that will hype him up today and destroy him latter when he maybe doesn't match their claims. Tielemans needs to play week in week out and be nurtured, he isn't the player that some are pretending, he could be though.Baller is a little OTT, but I agree you’re being a little harsh on the lad. He’s been highly rated for the last 3-4 years. Whether he will develop his game further is a different matter. He starts quite often for Belgium now too, so I guess they equally rate him. It's a risk with only 6 months to go on. Papiss Cisse was a baller for 6 months.
Not really. They all have played really well in a similar role to Pogba. All three are different midfielders.
Yeah, of course, that was my point really. He’s been highly rated for the last 3-4 years. Whether he will develop his game further is a different matter. He starts quite often for Belgium now too, so I guess they equally rate him.
