Same as the clubs above us, except we’ve signed a player.
Who gives a feck what the clubs above us have done. We have a bigger urgency to sign players as ours are clearly worse and the way we ended the season was nothing short of embarrassing. If we want to improve we need better players and as per Ole ready for pre season. Champions league finalists and domestic treble winners can afford to take more time. Also we are currently clearly worse off after losing Herrera, at least Chelsea have Pulisic and Hudson-Odoi to step in. People have the right to be worried.

Why doesn’t anyone want to buy our CBS?

Is it because they are pretty shit.
Nah, they are decent midtable defenders, but they expect to keep being paid like league winners in a new club. Plus we'd have to pay actual money to sign someone better. And money is expensive.

Only teenage centre halves are in demand!

There is also the fact that our (online) fans have insisted that our centre halves have been ‘for sale’ for years and we are struggling to shift them, whereas there is far less evidence of that from the club. I’ve seen people get frustrated and accuse the board of incompetence for not getting rid, but all evidence suggests that our managers rate them higher than your average poster does. Little suggestion Smalling or Jones are for sale at all, and Bailly rumours were also shut down quickly.

This is probably true but we don’t hear much gossip of us turning down offers for Jones etc either. Paying them shed loads is probably the biggest issue so we are stuck with them. However I’m sure Ole would replace most of them if he had an open Cheque book.

Think by July 1st we'll have at least two more signings wrapped up and ready to go. One will be AWB and one will be a Bailly type signing where the media were nowhere until the deal was completed.
Optimistic you. I would be even surprised if we sign AWB before July 1st with the way we handle transfers never mind two.

Can’t wait for all the comments over the next 5 years. ‘Why didn’t we sign Ndombele when he was available for only £65m?’. Why did Spurs have a free run at him?’ etc etc.

Or, ”Thank god we did not sign that player. ”Dodge a bullet there” etc etc.

Says how delusional we are that we are Manchester United and CL win are a certainty. We haven't won one for 11 years, why would we now? They really need to wake up to the real world.
It's so easy when people believe everything.
