Of course this is true, but its not like Ndombele isn't seen as a great propect, it seems the general feeling is "Oh Tottenham seem to have got him, hes really no that good".
I am not going to hide the salt. I hope he turns out to be an Aurier

Have to say I think this lad is quality. Disappointing to see Spuds get him, but I guess we (Liverpool) are not looking for a more defensive midfielder. Have to say this lad appears to have more potential than Gini Wijnaldum, and there's obviously not too many seasons left in Milner's legs.

It does look like Spuds have had a free run on him, in terms of concrete interest, which seems bizarre. Can't believe Utd weren't seriously interested, he is just what you guys need IMO.

Him sitting deep with Pogba will be the future of the French midfield. signing this guy for a 4-2-3-1 with Fernandes ahead of them makes far too much sense for united to do. Would be a coup for spurs no doubt

United have far better players in thier team than Ndombele. That's according to Mr.Ed Woodward.

Actually its really sad that Spurs are gonna get him without any other clubs bidding for him. Wait for him to develop into a classy midfielder and then talks of United buying from Spurs will arise.
I think he is gone, Pochentino is currently giving SPURS stadium and training ground tour to Ndombele. Its just a matter of time before Spurs announce his signing.

Time to focus on Partey as he is a better dribbler and passer too ?

This is such a shite decision on the United board. We are bound to lose Pogba. It's not a question of IF but WHEN. We need Ndombele and Partey in my opinion. Ndombele could partner Partey in a midfield 2 with Bruno running riot up the pitch.

Partey should be a quick deal to conclude,as his agent revealed his release clause is £43m and that he fancies the Premier League.

The board doesn't pick players, nor does Ed Woodward.

Have we actually been reliably linked to him? Most of the journalists seem to think we're only after Longstaff.

Why are people losing their shit over this one? It's a good signing for spurs, but there are many other players out there for the money being spent on him.

No. I dont think we are in for him. The only midfielders we have been linked so far this summer more or less half reliable have been Bruno, Tielemans, Rice, Longstaff and Lo Celso (maybe i missed someone). The only 2 still getting links are Bruno and Longstaff, the rest died down a bit. Ndombele was never really linked to us as far as i know.

Let's look through our transfer targets:

Sancho X
Koulibaly X
De Ligt X
Maguire X

Rabiot X
N'Dombele X

James
AWB - just about over the line
Fernandes - still up in the air

I don't rate Maguire (considering his price). But it seems that there are not top defenders left to buy. I hope we can get at least Alderweireld for 25m and focus our attention in other areas like our midfield (and hopefully a top RW).

Who said these were certainly targets? What evidence do you have for this?

It’s also worth reminding you that only one of those players has moved clubs. That’s Daniel James to Manchester United.

I understand the scepticism and worry but there’s a way of offering that without resorting to acting like a fruit.

Don’t get me wrong, if this guy turns out to be great and we don’t sign great midfielders (which we certainly do need) then I’m all for pointing that out.

But give it time.

I know. Just watched his YouTube videos to see what the fuss was, erm, he is basically the same style player as Pogba. And people want to get rid of Pogba. And let's not forget, Ndombele's videos were probably against poor Ligue 1 opposition!

You’ve no idea who our targets are and it isn’t even July yet.

What about Wan Bissaka then. Every man and his dog thinks he's a top top prospect last season but then United sign him and suddenly he's garbage. And even the United fans now think he's garbage!!!

Will add something to the Spurs midfield they’re sorely missing. Always looked impressive in the CL games I caught this season.

Very good CDM in terms of being combative and energetic. I personally didn't want him much as I still want our CDMs to have abit more ability on the ball.

Would prefer Longstaff as a Carrick type who wouldn't play as an all out defensive player but someone who could play in a 4231/433 with a CM partner in there.

We've got the Keane/Scholes, Carrick/Scholes partnerships to refer to and for anyone saying Ndombele is as good as Keane on the ball I can agree to disagree.

Ndombele is a good dribbler but who wants that in defensive midfield?

He’s not a defensive midfielder. He probably occupies spaces closer to what Herrera would for us.

If that's the case I definately wouldn't want him! He's not the footballer we need I feel.
Except we’ve lost Herrera and it seems Ndombele would be an upgrade. We need an Herrera upgrade and a Matic upgrade. Or just a Kante type.

He is not a holding mid he is more of a box to box midfielder who we really need, it feels like mousa Dembele all over again. He is very good with the ball at his feet, great dribbling and passing, as well as his defensive side. It's a real shame.

Shocked that Spurs are actually spending money.
Was always going to happen this window. We haven't spent in ages and combine that with the new stadium being done, cl qualification money and the money we got for reaching the CL final and we've got plenty to spend.

Levy would penny pinch again if he thought he could get away with it, but he knows that he had to loosen the purse strings this summer with the fans grumbling about spending and if he wants to keep Poch at the club.

I agree with both of the required upgrades but just don't think Ndombele is the guy for us. I'd take Longstaff/Fabinho/Busquets/Xabi Alonso types. Players who can play CDM but also start moves off intelligently with their distribution. Not sure whose out there that really fits the mould atm. Rodri is the best young breaker and that's why City are all over him.

I'd wage a bet he is better than at least Dier and Wanyama.
In my opinion he has more raw abilities than most of your midfielders the question is whether he is going to refine them and also develop his mentality and tactical nous with Pochettino, if he manages to do that you should have an excellent player.

Perhaps we are going in for Bruno Fernandes rather this guy? I don't see how he would choose Spurs ahead of us if we are interested. A year without CL football is nothing

Yeah I think you are spot on - he is young and still has plenty of development in him yet but he will be under a great coach who hopefully will get the best out of him.

One year? Not a cat's chance in hell we're hitting top four next season either.

Yeah. It’ll be impossible to finish above Chelsea, who have just sold by far their best player, are about to appoint a manager even less experienced than ours who has a transfer ban to contend with. Then there is Arsenal, who’s reported transfer kit totals less than what we are about to pay out for a fullback. Crazy.

Why on earth are you comparing us to those teams?
