Someone please actually bid for him. I really don’t understand why he’s still here. We don’t use him. He asked to leave over a year ago. Surely one club out there must think he’s an okay player. If Callum Wilson can get £100k a week at a club the size of Bournemouth I can’t see how his wages can be too much of an issue either.

Just as you're getting into a few juicy tweets, along comes chutney with a few shovels of rock salt to make you back out of the thread for a while.

What are Arsenal fans' thoughts on all this? Sanchez/Van Persie-tier cnut in their eyes?
I think most Arsenal fans prefer to wait for the actual facts. It's so out of character from him that maybe he's telling the truth and the club and the full new structure fecked him over. They might have promised something thinking we were definitely getting 1 or 2 CB and went back on their word. Or maybe he just really want to go back home and is trying anything to get his wish. If that's the latter, even though he's still one of our best defender, it would be mostly sad to see him leave like that but nowhere near RvP/Sanchez tier. At least to me.

Funny, I've just been rewatching Sunderland Till I Die this last couple of days - He comes across as a real nice guy, dealing with a nightmare spate of injuries & a dollop of loneliness to boot.

Great player on form, hope he does well.

Why not? We're building and we're still one of the biggest names in football. Hes guaranteed to be a **** figure here.
Joining a **** perhaps won't be as attractive to him as joining a club in the Champions League with a world-renowned manager at the helm - he'll have plenty of offers like that when he eventually chooses to leave.

It's stunning. Makes you think he probably has good reasons to do what he is doing.
