So we're lining up like this?

De Gea
Wan-Bissaka - Smalling - Rojo - Young
McTominay - Pereira
Pogba
Greenwood - Martial - James

Or maybe Pereira in the hole?

Disagree with James - I think he would be excellent away from home. He is less likely to have an impact at home.
Fair enough, still not good enough (yet) to be a mainstay in a best XI, that was the point.

Greenwood looks like our best attacking weapon period - from what he has shown, I wouldn't be surprised if he scores a lot of goals this season
He is not just enjoying good form but he is exactly the kind of forward we were missing since RVP. The kid deserves more games. In fact he should be default starting 11.

I know it's still pre-season but would have thought in our 4th game we would be starting to build a first XI. I can only guess that its a chance to give 60mins to the players who started on the bench last game.

And Rojo probably in the shop window.

2nd Half
Romero
Dalot Lindelof Tuanzebe Shaw
Fred Matic
Chong Lingard Gomes
Rashford

by the looks of it

This is pre season and they're just rotating everybody to get minutes. Chill!

Be interested to get a look at Parrott, he'd be advised to steer well clear of Rojo if he wants a role this season.

It's still very much fitness and squad based, I wouldn't expect our 'first XI' in most people's eyes to be used for 70-90 minutes until the last game of the tour.

Gomes, Rashford or Chong for James would've been my preference. Ideally Rashford.

The whole "maybe Gomes will get tested like Axel did" thought was quickly ruled out. I wonder if the rumor of his size and Ole was true.

Can’t for the life of me see the purpose in playing Rojo.

Gomes should consider himself a little unlucky, too.

Losing to Comeback Winning!
 Our midfield combination.

Pereira at #10 or triple midfielders, exciting.

I think triple Mid is more likely.

--- Pogba --- Pereira ---
--------McTominay------

McTominay have to play the holding midfield role and break up Spurs plays with support from Pereira and Pogba.

Looking forward to see what Greenwood can do with more minutes.

Martial has stuck out so far as the rest of the players that have played in those top 3 positions have been moving all over the place. Hope he gets a goal and kicks on from here.

When people tell you to be optimistic about the upcoming season and you see Rojo, Smalling, Young in the back 4. There is nothing optimistic about that, pre season or not.

Definitely seen as just too small for now and it's too soon for him. Got the least amount of game time last season.
Or maybe they aint ready to give him more minutes for exposure until he commits, if his contract expires next summer that is.

Didn't Rojo sign a new contract recently? And then say that Ole has told him he's an important part of his plans?

Ughh

Such an outdated view, but increasingly likely that it's true in Ole's view. Meanwhile, the on the pitch evidence suggests he is ready.

He's on the bench is all it means.

fecking morons moaning about everything. Boring.
No need to be rude, it means we don't see him as ready yet. Giving his contract situation that has implications

No excuses if we don't score goals against that Spurs-side - their midfield looks strong though
