What was the point of pre-season if we are changing almost half of the starting 11 a week before the official games start?

Pogba and Lukaku for Bruno, SMS and Maguire. How happy are you lads with that business?

What are you talking about? We had some way worse league finishes than 6th when Bryan Robson was here. And Pogba has been performing at the top level all this time, its just that sometimes he can't pull rabbits out of the hat. When Pogba gets two people put on his, that should be the games when we have someone else step up because the rest of the team are paying a man up - yet they don't consistently do that. And yet Pogba gets the blame for not single-handedly taking on two markers.
I dont think even the most ardent of Pogba fans could agree with this bolded part and the bit before it justifies what I was talking about Willis. I was talking about individual performances and Bryan Robson being world class in a weaker side (well when he was fit) consistently

Doesn’t make any sense, if that bid was able to be made, why didn’t they do it ages ago?
Very much doubt it is true right now, but if it happened the delay would probably be utd getting Fernandes and Savic in place as replacements. But given that Pogba has played the entire pre season and seems integral to Ole's plans - compare that to Lukaku who i think we can guarantee is going.

He’s also saying there working hard in Paris for Neymar or Mbappe.
Also says made official in 12 days, and papers already submitted to FP, whateve that is. And that Pogba's brother is in the City already, his new club is there, and may be house-hunting together, near Varane.

I'd be happy with it if you threw Ben Yedder into the mix.

My underlying feeling though that I can't shake is just that I don't think Ed can pull off so many deals in such a small amount of time. Granted, a lot of these deals may already be in place, but I still have zero faith in him.

If Bryan Robson was in this side, he'd have had us challenging for the title last year. A proper captain. That fraud shouldnt be spoken in the same breath as Robbo.
I love Robbo but it's a step too far to suggest he would have added another 30 points last season.

I’m not buying it, especially from that random bloke.
Did the old Tancredi Palmeri trick of building it up through the day it looks. ‘In 8 hours’, ‘in 5 hours’. Bullshitter.

Selling unwanted/uncertain players has been a big problem this summer (and before). Too many players on sizable wages in this team who simply don't have the equivalent relevance to match.

Sanchez, Lukaku, Rojo, Darmian, Jones (new contract), Young and Mata (new contract) are all set to be part of the squad for next season, and some of those just shouldn't. Another season of watching Sanchez's 80 year legs try and fail sounds great.

On the other hand, with regards to incomings, we surely should be getting players like Longstaff over the line easier than this. You'd think this was some uber coveted CM everyone was after (although I do like the look of him). I imagine we'll get at least one sorted before the window ends but it does feel like we're scampering.
Shocked darmian and Rojo still here. If we moved those and lukaku on, solskjaer will have done a pretty good job on a cleat out and freshen up. The thought that we can buy and sell 2 to 3 each way in the next 10 days is laughable though. Woodward has failed miserably in the biggest window ever imo.

Happy to retract if he somehow delivered maguire, Dybala and a midfielder but there is no evidence whatsoever he could even deliver mcginn, demba ba and a window cleaner.

 Biggest sign of a bullshitter. If you’re a journalist with a big story you get it out there before anyone else, you don’t do a slow build up in case you get scooped.

Right now it looks more like Dybala, Savic and Maguire. Would still like Bruno too. Or a right winger.
I'm more for Bruno than Dybala. I know Bruno plays in Portugal, but in my opinion he has more goals in him compared to Dybala. I might be wrong.

But either way, if Lukaku and Pogba go then I suppose we are getting SMS and one of Bruno, Dybala, D Costa, Dembele or Yeder.
And Maguire is coming for sure, I think.

If he and lukaku left and we brought in

Maguire, savic, fernandes and Dybala I think we'd be a better team.

I think we will bring in 2 players max though, which if Pogba and lukaku go isn't enough

Bit dramatic mate. Half? Also Lukaku hasn't even kicked a ball.

Epic fail.
Two new CMs, a CB, plus the fact that we have a new RB and probably a new player starting on the right (either James or Greenwood). Almost half indeed. We will struggle massively in the start of the season if that happens.

Fake news. At any rate at this stage of the window there is barely any midfielders available and worth bringing in, so I don't see us letting Pogba go.

Two new CM's? Really?

The right back and CB (Maguire)are both English and PL ready also.

And finally we are building from the bottom up. We are going to have periods where we struggle. If you're expecting a title challenge then more fool you.

No, I'm not expecting a title challenge at all and I back Ole 1000%. The thing is though that a bad start of the season will pile insane amounts of pressure on the team.

Even Solskjaer has said how important is to start strong and provide a stable base for the rest of the season. It won't happen if some of the main positions are changed a week before the first official game.
