I don't get this attitude why would you want someone that behaves so unprofessionally? It just means he'd do it to you if a better offer comes along
And yes. This is where I empathize with the Leicester fans. Our lot expecting him to throw a strop and expect pogba to be professional about it!

It is only a minority of fans. If Maguire wants to leave, he should have a word with the clubs hierarchy.

That's what Pogba has done.

Now it is up to the club to say Leicester, here you go lets negotiate. I read somewhere Maguire has a agreement that he can leave? I might be wrong, but if you have an agreement with the club and then they keep increasing the transfer fee, it is not on.

In respects to Pogba - Madrid know its £150m - they have not put a bid in yet, so Pogba has no reason but to stay professional until such time a club puts a realistic bid in.

this is all speculation for all we know. I would rather any player put in a transfer request to signal their intent rather than throw a strop or refusing to train. And as the other poster said, with such attitude he may see greener pastures in the future and do the same to us.

As I mentioned, I wasn't sure. Maguire doesn't want to rock the boat and put in a transfer request, he has probably asked to leave informally. There are no signs that he is going to show any attitude given he has played in pre season.

I can’t imagine us open to negotiating on price should Real come calling for Pogba. Certainly not for a nailed on 1st team player. Why then should we expect Leicester to do the same...we’ve identified a top target. Just pay up

 this is Ed Woodward. He will say £150m? give us Bale as a swap and deal done.

Look at the Maguire saga, It has actually bored me to death now. Why not just pay up.

Leicester will surely give up eventually! I mean £80M would be a world record deal (Defender) for a player who isn't in the top 10 CB's in the world. They can sign a capable replacement in Tarkowski and still have £30 left to play with. I get they have a billionaire owner and don't need to sell but he wants to leave, might not be the same player for them now his heads been turned and they would be getting a very fair deal. I accepted we'd be massively overpaying for Harry but £90M is too far. If they won't budge we should move on to Plan B presuming we have one :wenger: There were quite credible links to Milenkovic and Issa Diop. Perhaps they're the alternatives?
Leicester don't want to sell and don't have to sell. They will keep putting price up now.
We play AC Milan on Saturday, maybe we could talk Romagnoli into signing. He's a strong CB with good skill and reads the game well. Only turned 24, left footed, good passer, and can come out with the ball

Romagnoli has said he doesn’t want to leave, diop was quoted at about 60m, and I can imagine why wanting more now.

Pay up for a player who has never experienced Ucl football before in his career and not the best out there. Nativity don't you think ?

£80M is a record amount for a defender. If it's true that we've offered that and Leicester refuse, we might not have much choice but to walk away.

I know it's talksport but Geoff Peters who also works for them is apparently reliable, at least that's what i saw in Leicester forum and Geoff Peters also posts there.
Geoff’s a really top bloke and is really well respected on FT and in Leicester circles in general, especially after his professionalism in the aftermath of Vichai’s death. He’s honest about any information he shares - he just passes on what he’s been told and lets you decide whether to believe it or not. More often than not he’s reliable.

As for the offer - we all found that hilarious.

They don't deserve a penny if they're not happy with £80m . He's not even worth a world record fee.

So bored of this will he won’t he.

Ole said he wanted business done early and we’ve pissed about all window on this one.

Frankly even if we do now sign him I can’t get excited about it.

I have been one of the most vocal about the shambles of the window in letting things drag so long. But c'mon, if we make these signings before the window closes that's going to be such a big boost heading into the season.

HELLO
Should've told them we're not interested a month ago and moved on with finding a good centre back. Maguire being the sole option raises questions about the decision makers and their ability to judge players beyond the PL.

Palace will be regretting no holding Wan-Bissaka for a few more weeks.

in all fairness, comparing Pogba and Maguire is nonsense anyway. Pogba has spent all of his career at Juventus and Man United, Maguire has played for Sheffield, Hull and Leicester. Maguire is 26, chances like these might not come around in the future. I could understand if he was really pushing for a move, but the fact that he's been so professional and respectful to Leicester makes me want him even more. Good lad.

Done dealio then.
You'd think so based on that news. Not that it will concern United fans too much but you have to wonder if Leicester have therefore also sorted out their replacement since that was supposedly one of the major stumbling blocks to finalising the deal.

what Brendan Rodgers said was he wanted time to decide if he wanted to bring in a replacement, if Maguire goes we have 4 senior CBs in the squad as it stands

If we sign him and it's for 80-90m, what have we been fecking about over all summer exactly?

Also if we don't sign him, what have we been fecking about with all summer exactly?

Does any other team who isn't financially broke do this?

Arsenal, I'd say, from the outside looking in, you have very similar ownership situations, absentee Yanks who only care about the bottom line on the financial reports

Yeah but they are very clear about not wanting to spend money. We feck about over valuations on players for months, then just randomly break all kinds of transfer records on some player we didn't even need as if money is no issue.

Don't really care how much we pay for him as long as it sorts out our defence for good. We've wasted far too much money over the past six years on high profile flops and if we add up the cumulative value I'm sure it'll shock the lot of us.

Let's just get this done now

?
I make you right.
We knew what the valuation was months ago, all this posturing and haggling gets us absolutely nowhere.
If we do manage to sign Maguire, it will be for the figure that LCFC have wanted all along.
