Shooting @Inter for @Alexis_Sanchez : agreement with the player and agent in England to find the agreement with the @ManUtd . All the details at 11pm @SkySport@SkySportsNews#calciomercato
Someone worked it out on reddit that due to him having played in Italy previously and the tax laws, they can offer him the same wage he's on now due to the decrease in tax (I think that's what it was).

Feel like he suits the way we are playing and would like to see him stay for this season. We will be one or 2 injuries away from having no strikers.

It'd be great if he goes out as well. I loved the transfer when it happened but I don't think he's got anything of substance to offer to the way we want to play.

He'll also stymie our youngsters, so I prefer we went all in with our new approach. Also, clearing him off the books gives the Glazers no excuses not to sign more players next summer, if not in January.

As posted above, reports out of Italy indicate Inter are interested in taking him on a season long loan. Hoping our clubs can come to an agreement; we're desperate for a striker and you guys have no need for him.

I don't think we can afford to sign him unless we finally manage to offload Icardi. I could see this saga lasting until the end of the month when our window closes.
It better be Inter paying his salary, otherwise he should go nowhere.

Him and Lukaku. Two players who needed upgrading and what do we do? Let them go with no replacements. Nice.

For Lukaku yes, he was useful some times and selling him without replacement was stupid but Alexis is absolutely useless and hopeless case. Getting rid of his ridiculous wage salary is a good move. He's the one that really deserves to be told "Good riddance".

So are we really going into a season with a 17 year old as our third option for a striker? Look I love promoting the youth players but we are asking for trouble. If we have a spate of injuries we are fecked.
You'll be jumped for that opinion by many but I agree with you. We are relying an awful lot on kids to step and deliver this season, it's not fair on them.

Anyways, with so much dough removed from our wage bill. They better be serious of injecting some ready made quality next season.

Its not only that its also the low number of strikers we have now. We are threadbare after Alexis leaves. Martial and Rashford get hurt and we have Greenwood, Chong, Gomes, James and Mata as our options in attack? Two wingers and two AM's and one forward.

He's a good player to have around especially with VAR watching for any minor fouls or handballs. He is a tricky customer and definitely adds something with don't have- which is a bit of guile.
We’ve lacked this for years, and it’s why I was quite excited when we signed him.

He seems to have lost it along with everything else though.

He needs to go. My vibe is that he’s a bad egg in the squad, similar to Lukaku (I have no basis for that opinion, of course, just a feeling). I don’t care if we are short up front, if the squad is more harmonious then that’ll get us more points than his one goal and assist all season will.

Sanchez and Lukaku in the same team? Inter have lost it.
They reached an agreement for Darmian as well (free agent)

If they want also Rojo, Smalling, Jones, Fred, Matic

I’m ready to talk, you can have all the package with 20 millions :-)

Is it possible for Inter to be that daft? Lukaku & Sanchez?
Lukaku will be great in Italy imo especially under Conte. Sanchez can be good as well for their league. Nothing to concern us about him leaving though. He's been useless for us for the 1.5 years he stayed.

Especially when people want that 17yr old to be our starting right winger. Doesn’t make him even a back up striker if he’s playing already.

Unless he’s being completely rotten in the dressing room then there’s no way we should consider till January.

There’s a potential problem with or without Sanchez and it’s not as ridiculous as it should be to suggest that we’ll be no worse off sticking Phil Jones in attack in the middle of an injury crisis.

Sanchez needs to go for 2 reasons: 1- his wages cause problems for everyone coming in and already into the squad, 2- his legs have gone he can’t run past anyone and certainly not in Our league.

The difficulty is that we have basically no depth at all! and the depth we do have is just kids. 2 injuries away from being fecked!

I’d still get rid through, but it was an error not to bring anyone else in as cover. Risky business.

Edit- not risky business, poor planning!

I saw Sanchez be a boss with the kids at a Man United foundation gathering today. Alexis Sanchez to start next game confirmed. (Granted he was there with Jones, Smalling and Dalot, but that doesnt mean anything. Oh and Pereira.

Plus the manager is publicly backing him and appears to be linking him with game participation once he's game ready: https://www.manutd.com/en/news/deta...ign=ManUtd&utm_medium=post&utm_source=twitter

I'm well on the ship that wants Alexis to succeed here, and I'll happily go down with the ship if it never happens. But even Fernando Torres regained some old greatness. If he can, so can Alexis

great if he goes, we'll get a replacement in on loan in Jan to tide us over until the summer

Yeah because we do that all the time, and quality loan players are always available in then.

Surely if we need a replacement then they should be here now, season could be done by January.

Mirror saying he's on 560k a week.....hahahaha

He was never on that to begin with and since has had a 25% wage reduction like the rest of the squad.
I believe he gets 75k for every appearance as part of his contract, he’s not collected any of that for some time. Media always but always inflate and put in every single clause when quoting United’s fees and wages

How long would it take his dogs to get over there and be quarantine free? I’d imagine that’s probably his biggest concern at the move.

he's offering us nothing. Gomes could replace what we lose from him, easily.
This is just insane imo, he barely played for Ole, and everyone was crap under Jose.

If Dybala was his replacement then fair enough, but we're literally saying lets put all our eggs in the untested kid basket, and for no other reason than to save the club a few million in wages.

Ole probably rates not only Greenwood but also James and Gomes highly.

Martial and Rashford will cover for each other for the No 9 spot with Greenwood as third choice. That is not bad.

If we get a good offer for Sanchez (eg getting rid of his wages) and Ole thinks that Greenwood, James and Gomes can play to at least 80% of his level, which is also declining, then we should cut our losses.

It would be a gamble and would depend on how Sanchez has performed in training, but Ole is clearly putting his faith in youth. Sanchez did have decent summer for Chile so it is Ole's call if he can replicate that for us.

To be totally honest I don't see what this club loses aside a rotational option with Sanchez leaving. He was awful the season we purchased him for Arsenal the writing was on the wall.

I reckon he's declined, has been massively overrated in his career, was a bench performer for Barcelona and had a few decent performances for Arsenal to save his reputation. Rubbish rubbish footballer.

I agree. Young players, no matter how gifted and well managed, are still...young. They will make mistakes and get caught out, especially against smart senior players who have seen it all before. I would much rather we invest our energy in getting Alexis fit and contributing than in finding a place for him to go.

It's a big gamble letting Sanchez go, but it's potentially a bigger longer term gamble not taking a buyer up on their offer even if that is just to pay his salary.

We need squad harmony to improve and we need to test our tools fully.

For forward or wing positions we need minimum 6 players and we have..
1) Martial
2) Rashford
3) Greenwood
4) Lingard
5) James
6) Chong
7) Mata (last option!)

We could also drop this to 4 forwards in a 4-1-2-1-2

If we got lost two of Martial, Rashford and Greenwood we'd probably have to look at 2 AM's with the remaining forward up top on his own.

Given we've not reinforced midfield, we are already pushing boundaries. The question is how far do you push them if it risks missing top 4 and then the chance to reinforce with higher grade talent like Sancho. Although equally there is risk Sanchez doesn't offer anything and disrupts harmony.
