I can already picture it " J Ling7"rumour has it, he wants the Number 7 shirt... would pretty much sum up where we are if he got it
He's welcome to the number 7 shirt. At Stoke, Newcastle or somewhere equivalentrumour has it, he wants the Number 7 shirt... would pretty much sum up where we are if he got it
well he only played a few mins of last game.... but as you'll see above people are still finding a way to blame him, as well as blame rchford's performances on hanging out with him. delusionalChoosing Lingard as our scapegoat is so two weeks ago. All the cool kids are blaming Lindelof or Rashford now. Contemporize, daddy-o.
The reason why we look at him, it was the 81st minute and there was clearly a player on the right who is open, pass and get into the box.well he only played a few mins of last game.... but as you'll see above people are still finding a way to blame him, as well as blame rchford's performances on hanging out with him. delusional
ah yes, the pivotal moment of the gameThe reason why we look at him, it was the 81st minute and there was clearly a player on the right who is open, pass and get into the box.
He can take a shot on if he has been scoring goals but guess what we have a CAM who hasn't even had a shot on target this season?
The greenwood ball was the easy ball that any player could have made... A very good cam would have been aware of Pogba and the ability to slip him in on his stride or even Rashford who had space. The reason why we look at him, it was the 81st minute and there was clearly a player on the right who is open, pass and get into the box.

Yes, it is pivotal because it would have been a 4 v 4 inside the Saints penalty area?ah yes, the pivotal moment of the game
I dont think Lingard has the vision to see that pass and play it with the correct weight. The greenwood ball was the easy ball that any player could have made... A very good cam would have been aware of Pogba and the ability to slip him in on his stride or even Rashford who had space.
That's precisely what should happen. What will probably happen though is when/if he scores his annual couple of goals in December, we'll start hearing about contract negotiations and soon after will come the bumper 5-year contract. He's precisely the type of player we should try to sell in Jan window. He's English and no doubt that some PL managers will be sold on his work-rate and movement. Use those funds to buy an actual footballer.
People are moaning at him for not scoring nor assisting. The funny thing is Lingard would usually take that passing option, but I think with everybody moaning at him recently for not scoring enough, he decided to try and shoot and score himself
A strange irony recently.
Yes, but you can see why he ended up being more selfish. I'm just saying it's ironic as in that situation everybody was screaming for the pass.People are moaning at him for not scoring nor assisting.
you could take a still of any game and draw an arrow to goal and say pass the ball here... such a ridiculous over analysisThe greenwood ball was the easy ball that any player could have made... A very good cam would have been aware of Pogba and the ability to slip him in on his stride or even Rashford who had space.
Exactly, are we supposed to highlight the nonexistent consist threat he brings to the team? He's obviously going to be criticised because he's worse than our other attacking players. What the feck do you expect?
You're right - he's actually been shittier. Like when he went 9 months in 2018 without a Premier League goal which, quite incredibly, is even longer than his current streak. Thank you for reminding me.So do I, hence why I wouldn't want Lingard playing there in the majority of games either.
But let's not pretend Lingard's always been as shit as he's been in 2019, whilst also conveniently forgetting the whole team has been shit that entire time. I know it's cool to bash Lingard, but we cannot blame the entire club's downturn in fortunes and form on him. He has contributed and does have something to offer as a squad player. He's not a starting XI quality player, never has been, never will be, and that's not his fault and nor is it fault he gets picked or gets paid what he does. None of that however means he couldn't be a useful member of the squad if used well.
Also, his pressing (and how he creates space for others when we have the ball) may not be tangible and measurable qualities, but refusing to appreciate them as useful qualities isn't a good look.
You just can't make it up can you?rumour has it, he wants the Number 7 shirt... would pretty much sum up where we are if he got it
this isnt a case of taking a still image from an overhead view, this is just a basic slip pass you see literally countless times per game. It is a pass i would expect any professional footballer to make, let alone one who's best position is supposedly as a 10. If people want to give him a pass for not fitting the ball into pogba on the left i could maybeeeee get behind that (although that pass is also pretty decently open for a fake shot cut pass that would have a 90 percent chance of freeing pogba for a glorious chance as well). There are 3 opposition players, and funny enough 1 united player, that are in the way of his supposed "shooting lane"you could take a still of any game and draw an arrow to goal and say pass the ball here... such a ridiculous over analysis
I dont mind having a pressing forward as long as he is contributing to the team going forward.Exactly, are we supposed to highlight the nonexistent consist threat he brings to the team?
Lingard is a bang average squad player. Not hating, he seems very likable actually but what some call "hating" is just the truth which has an inherent edge to it.
Not sure I agree with that because in pretty much every game he played earlier in the season he had many easy opportunities to slip in Martial and for whatever reason he either didn’t see it or ignored it. He would do the same a lot last season. It’s like he is either scared to play the final ball or is just wanting to to try and take the spotlight with something audacious. The funny thing is Lingard would usually take that passing option, but I think with everybody moaning at him recently for not scoring enough, he decided to try and shoot and score himself

Exactly, if you are chosen to play a No 10 role, this is a role where you feed the strikers and wingers, not shoot at sight when there is a 4 v 4 developing in the penalty area. Not sure I agree with that because in pretty much every game he played earlier in the season he had many easy opportunities to slip in Martial and for whatever reason he either didn’t see it or ignored it. I mean I can understand why he would be scared to play the final ball as his passing is terrible but it’s easy passes he is passing up which my granny could make from her grave.
right now... I'd swop him for Sanchez!!Can we have a party when J Lingz eventually leaves the club please...
i suspect he might be seen as the 'cool dude' - specially his social media presence... other than that, zilch.I will never understand Lingard’s popularity with younger kids. I’m not even that old myself, but I’m just baffled. Is there something so cool about him that I’m missing?
Didn't solskjaer bollock him for this or am I over exaggerating his reaction?
@GifLord is there a gif of this shot with oles reaction please?
He has good movement though, and he is still a young player after all.Just clocked he has 1 goal and 0 assists in all competitions this calendar year.
fecking hell
