Him getting England recognition and still getting picked despite being absolute dog shit are two different things. He will always get picked if played in the biggest club in England. Him getting selected last summer in front of Maddison for example was a total travesty. His actual ability is absolute average and he is getting found out.
Messrs Jones and Smalling, and a whole raft of former players would disagree.

What difference does that make¿
You're asking me what difference it makes referring to a 26 year old player as a youngster rather than a player?

I'll just leave the conversation at this point

Jones and Smalling both have more caps than Lingard. One of them is extremely injury prone and Smalling has been axed while lesser CBs are getting picked by Southgate. Tom Cleverley was being picked despite being absolute average. Same thing is happening with Lingard. As soon as he moves away to his level at Watford nobody will know he exists.

Jesse has been likened to Andreas Iniesta and Jean Tigana in style, neither had defensive acumen, or some physical presence.
What are you even on about?

I'm not sure who likened Jesse to Iniesta or Tigana to be honest, I don't see any resemblance, especially with a latter who was a defensive/box-to-box midfielder.

Dropping Lingard didn’t happen because Ole ”opted for more technical players”. Ole loves Lingard as if he were his child. The only reason he is now out of the team is that Lingard got injured. But Ole is still trying to give him minutes, to get him back match fit. I hope he realizes sooner rather than later that with Lingard on the team our attack is done.
Lingard was dropped by Ole before his injury. Further injuries to other players forced Ole to start him again.

Not sure what your first sentence has got to do with anything, your argument was Lingard only got picked because he played for United, suggesting anybody English playing for United would automatically get picked for England which obviously isn't the case and the two recent players(Jones and Smalling)all the evidence you need. And random name, Andrew Cole got treated appallingly by England when he was one of the most important players in our team.

And Cleverley was flying when he was selected for England, it just a shame for him and United that he never got back to that level again after Kevin Davies seriously smashed his ankle up, but to suggest he was absolute average is nonsense.

See #2533, and SAF likened Lingard to Tigana but that was more his movement with the ball as apposed to his overall ability.

Nah Tigana was a monster on both sides of the ball, the one who tied that outstanding France midfield/team together, but there were still people at the time who wondered why he got in the team.

Most players start to rise at 24 and peak at 27 or 28, maintain a strong level until 30 and start to decline. The curious case of trashgard is simple, at 25 and in Nov 2018 he started to rise, at 26 Dec 2018 he hit his peak. He was soo good he maintained his level as a 26 year old until Jan 2019. By Feb 2019 at 26 he started his decline. We are now in Nov 2019, with a visual age of 35, Lingard is entering the end of his career.

Why else would he be picked to play for the summer's tournament instead of a player like James Maddison who had a much better season last season that Lingard? He was absolute shit for almost an entire season yet he was picked? Was it because of some criteria that only blind Lingard followers like you can notice? Because it did not make any sense, and England paid the price for those kind of decisions.

Cleverley was an absolute average midfielder that found his level at Watford, nothing to do with Kevin Davies. When time comes Lingard will follow suit, and when he pulls on that Watford shirt fans like you will notice that he found his level. And I'd rather end this one here, you are going haram level Lingard love fest in here, and I've had enough of those.

He’s not a good footballer. But he will continue to play in most matches because our squad is not good either.

If he was born 10 years earlier and was this age in 2009 when we had Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Nani, Giggs, he’d have played one league cup game against Scunthorpe as a sub

Hmm. That’s not how it happened. I actually got banned from this thread for a few weeks because I wished him to be in the stands, out of the team. Ole dropped him due to injury, not due to tactics.

I don't know, nor do I care, but i'd hazard a guess it was what he had produced in previous England performances leading up to the tournament more than his club form which was granted patchy at best.

Who is this Haram fella you speak so fondly of?

That’s not how I remember it. But I don’t want to have the argument about injuries and get banned again. I do see Ole trying to give him minutes every game even though there are other players who deserve those minutes more. I hope Ole doesn’t start him against Chelsea.

Horses for courses, he's got a good goal-scoring record against them including this beauty at their ground:

Lingard’s grandpa who was posting on here and his biggest fan. Your devotion to such a shit footballer makes me believe you are his grandma.

Makes you wonder how the hell he fooled Sir Alex, LvG, Mourinho at club level, and numerous Managers at International level for so long, tiss a mystery.
He did not play for Sir Alex so let's stop this myth right now. People love to drop his name in there to bolster their argument but it is BS. The fact that he said something nice about him means diddly squat - he gave him zero minutes.

Forget the 8, apologies for bringing it up....

This is ban worthy and I'm not even kidding. This guy is obviously a wum and I'm not sure why the moderators allow this nonsense. To put Jesse feckin Lingard in the same sentence as one of the greatest players of our lifetimes is a joke and completely disingenuous and designed to provoke reactions (like mine). This Class of 63 is a clown; go into any thread and you will see this very clearly.

Lingard, the English Iniesta, but even better than the original. The silky skills required to do viral celebrations are out of this world.

Huh? So you think i'm Jesse Lingard's Grandpa's Grandma, how fecking old do you think I am?

Thinking/suggesting Jesse is worth keeping around as a valuable squad player is hardly devotion.
