Not making excuses but it’s not that he chose fame.It may look like that but he’s had a hard year with his personal life. His mum being sick and him practically raising his siblings. Also he had his own little one.

Again these are excuses, if you aren’t all in then United isn’t for you. But no point making it out like he’s some fame hungry wannabe when it’s not all that.
Sad about his home life but in my opinion he’s only had a couple of decent months over his entire career here. And it has seemed like he’s quite happy to milk the celebrity status for a few years now

I'm talking about his social media, jlingz, clothing line nonsense. His personal life stuggles are tough, but I'm sure most people would tell you similar or worse stories if it came to it.

Thing about his personal circumstances, that whilst I have sympathy, lots of people go through similar....just without the 100k a week to support themselves. He’s in a better position than 99.9% of people who have family problems to stop them from influencing his work life too badly. Imagine going through that but on minimum wage, with the rent to pay

Exactly, and to add to that, personal struggles are not an excuse for being a fame whore while he stagnates in his craft.

I think he is a goner, unless he scores and assists at least 20-25 goals until the end of the season. Ole told him in the summer that this was his last chance and it's better man management to not criticise players in public, Sir Alex was the master of it.

So launching a clothing line and his own youtube channel was done behind his back.

it would be hard to like this dickhead if he played like Messi. Let alone warm to him as a shit player.

Jesse Lingard questions Manchester United mentality

It's strange. Maybe it's a mindset thing. Maybe it's our mentality going into the match thinking we've already won the game.

If we keep the consistency and mentality we had against City and Tottenham, I don't see why we can't win every game.

It seems like our mentality changes. To keep that consistency throughout the rest of the season when we come against the mid-table teams, we need to have the same mentality that we did going into the City and Tottenham game.

When we start with energy and on the front foot, we'll cause teams problems all day long.
He needs to question his own mentality before looking at others.

Him questioning any sort of mentality is yet another exposition of his lack of self awareness but what's new really.

How about instilling a mentality which allows you to score more than 1-2 goals per year JLingz14boii?

Lingard is the epitomy of why we are so shit this season. People used to give Fellaini stick, but he wasn't as childish and he did provide some nuisance value. Lingard offers absolutely nothing.

That pic, He looks so gormless in that one. Also a bit rich coming from him considering He hasn't scored in PL for a year. He's down there among Goal Keepers.

BT were advertising the Utd Burnley game on Saturday and in the advert it was Lingard dicking about on screen pulling silly faces and saying random gibberish.

It's got to the point where just seeing his face annoys me.

I think you're missing at least a season in between those 2 players leaving/ arriving at the club
Is it the Zlatan tenure? Either way - I wish we got to see Memphis centrally here because he seems to be doing what Lingard & to some extent what Mkhitarayan did.

I was worried that he will get a free pas until the end of the season after his okayish performances against spurs and city. I will raise a petition on change.org if he starts another game

What are you waiting for, assuming it’s to remove Lingard from MUFC I will sign your petition and so will millions of fans worldwide.

This is just another attempt to divert pressure from his dire performances. He wants the media and fans to question the team mentality, when the real issue is that he lacks the skills to control the ball in tight spaces or the football intelligence to be a number 10. Constantly playing him in a position that requires a sharp creator against low blocks is what’s sinking our club. It’s bad tactics and a woeful Lingard, not a mentality issue at all.

He's going to end his career an evergreen 19 year old even if he somehow ends up playing for us another 5 years. I wouldn't put it past him or the club tbh, we kept Anderson on as a mascot long after he would have been of any use to us and he wasn't even mancunian as such. Nor did he always give vibes of a permanent raw prospect who might go on to become very good.

from MEN

More from Lingard
This is from his interview with the Daily Mail
“I feel I’ve got my form back now and I’m back to my old self. Obviously form is going to be up and down. When you’re in a bad patch you’ve just got to fight through it, listen to the manager and the coaches, work hard on the training pitch and give 110 per cent. I’ve done that and I feel really sharp.
I always like to make an impact – goal and assists or work-rate and helping the team. I thoroughly enjoy doing that.
Since I was young I’ve always been fit and like to stay sharp and be a box-to-box player. For me to play in that No 10 role you have to run, attack and defend.
If you constantly do that for 90 minutes, of course you’re going to get tired, but if you can do it consistently it helps the team.”

It's not that he's wrong, as such. Our mentality against nominally weaker teams is crap. That explains why we can sandwich wins against City and Spurs with draws against Everton, Sheffield United and Villa, as well as a loss to Watford.

But yes, he is part of the problem, a major problem. A symbol of how the professionalism that was core to the club (SAF booting out Beckham, pardon the pun, when he displayed symptoms of being bigger than the club) has eroded to let this clown have a tenure this long, putting in so few big performances. He's eligible for a testimonial in a couple of years time! Eight years as an attacking midfielder in professional football (mostly at United), 240 appearances, 42 goals. I get and am glad that we don't have Madrid's lack of sentimentality, but this is a career of underachievement.

He needs to stop talking and start performing. I didn't think he would keep up that form he had a while back but to fall down so far is unacceptable. He's one of the most experienced players in the squad. He has to be doing better or he should be benched. He's not a bad player, but what he hasn't produced for a long time now....is apparent. We cannot afford passengers. Especially ones, who should know better.

Honestly, when a new manager comes in and slides him out the door, he and many fans will be stunned by the level of club that shows an interest in him.

I'm expecting at best, higher-level Championship sides like Derby, Fulham etc. Nobody in the PL will bother with this waste of space. I fully expect him to get about 60mins again today, though. Gets the club, does JLingz. One of the boys.
