Crazy decision.
The sequence is stopped at a random moment because they can’t accurately tell when the player touches the ball for a pass, the whole thing is a massive sham when a decision is that close.
but it was clear, with the technology used is was offside, nothing is going to change until the summer, at which point they need to totally rewrite the offside lawIve changed, its horrible. This goal and Brighton yesterday is not clear at all. Changed my opinion absolute crap.
Souness has just said the same thing and I would agreeThat wolves goal being disallowed is nuts. I don’t understand how you introduce VAR and don’t adapt the rules at the same time.
Offside was brought in to stop goal hanging not to deny an attacker who is 1mm offside.
The rule just needs to be rewritten so that instead of being offside is your boot tiny bit offside it should be ‘if any body part is onside then you are onside’.
It is so funny to see.
The argument in this thread was effectively:
“Don’t bring in VAR, it will change the game and won’t work”
”alright grandpa, we live in a modern world, VAR will be amazing!”
three months later after VAR has changed the game and doesn’t work.
“Well I hate to say it, but I was right.”
“No! This isn’t VARs fault, we just need MORE VAR.”
The offside law is perfectly fine. The use of VAR in offside situations needs fixing. A simple rule would be not to intervene in cases that can’t be reversed by naked eye observations alone.but it was clear, with the technology used is was offside, nothing is going to change until the summer, at which point they need to totally rewrite the offside law
Its not clear is it, you could probably roll the frames back milliseconds to make it look onside. The tech is rubbish hence why when its zoomed in its like Fifa 97. They need better frame rate to make it clearer.but it was clear, with the technology used is was offside, nothing is going to change until the summer, at which point they need to totally rewrite the offside law
I don't see any sane reason to set the rules like this for VARThere's a conspiracy theory that they're intentionally ballsing it up just so they can go back to the old way.
The FA cannot unilaterally change the laws of footballNo the rules need changing that’s all that is required. But as usual the football authorities can’t take a common sense view on it. Once we had a situation like the one against Sheffield United v Spur they should have change the offside rule via VAR.
I was thinking the same thing. I don't think I've seen it used this stupidly anywhere else. It seems to be a PL problem.I don’t remember them doing this for the World Cup?
What an absolute shambles the PL have made of implementing VAR.
If this is how it’s going to be, they need to scrap it. What an absolute shambles. And I think exactly the same when it benefits my team as well.

the tech they use gets it completely level, the camera doesn'tThe thing that makes this Wolves one even worse is that you can't even fully see the body of the Liverpool player behind him... So they are actually just doing guess work... Which is bullshit
or maybe our pundits could all shut the feck up about VAR and just accept that until the summer when potentially the offside law can be rewritten this is how its going to be, I bet this happens in Europe too but they just accept it instead of having a tantrum every timeNo but they can set guidance for how to use VAR (which is why other countries do offsides better then us)

Yeah, we don’t like this but I guess we should just shut the feck up about how bad we think it is and how it’s ruining the game. It’s here now so just shut the feck up. Right.or maybe our pundits could all shut the feck up about VAR and just accept that until the summer when potentially the offside law can be rewritten this is how its going to be, I bet this happens in Europe too but they just accept it instead of having a tantrum every time
not for offside they can'tThey can on how VAR is used though, they have already done that.
Why change the rules of the game just to suit a fecked up VAR introduction. This keeps getting better, I’m amazednot for offside they can't
the reason it takes so long is they use a computer program which does it, even though they have the same pictures, that's why often the line doesn't look like it is straight.Does it? Because they show us the pictures that VAR use... And its the same angles as the TV
I said it in the other thread, but it's almost as if this is being done on purpose to eventually scrap VAR. This implementation is by far the worst I've seen. Not only does it take too long for a review but they are relying on this sometimes misleading frame by frame analysis for exact measurements. It's an absolute disgrace and it has nothing to do with the tech itself but the way its being implemented by the morons in charge. You cannot fecking rule out goals by millimeters when the tech isn't 100% ffs. Absolutely horrendous and fecking up the game.
Why do they have the VAR monitors on the sidelines but the PL refs never use them?
