This game could have been pretty ugly so am glad that we haven't made hard work of it. It was professional and clinical from the team today against a team that is nowhere near our level. The pitch wasn't easy and they did have a handful of a centre forward up top but otherwise it was comfortable throughout.

Happy to see some of the less fashionable names get their names on the scoresheet too. But it must be remembered that we can't take much from this game. Players like Lingard, Jones and Dalot must start to make bigger contributions in the league.

Not much to say about the game really, but it was an enjoyable watch nonetheless. The players all turned up with the right attitude and approach which is all a manager can really do in these types of fixtures.

Pereira and Chong were both pretty poor.

Heres to another away draw against PL opposition in the 5th round

It's nice to have a relaxing Sunday picnic against a league something side, but we still need reinforcements badly!

If somebody told me at the beginning of the season that we'd smash the Scousers 6-0 I'd be ecstatic.

It was like the HIMYM episode where Barney tells Ted that the girl, he’s been set up with, is a hooker. Ted scores with the girl but it’s later revealed that she isn’t one.

If only we treat other teams like they’re Tranmere. Especially in the way Maguire was charging forward pulling 1-2s off.

First OFTEN since Ferguson and there’s this first time since 1892 too!

Great away trip and just going to enjoy the evening. Plenty of chance to nitpick tomorrow.

I hope lingard scoring against some awful league 1 side doesnt warrant him being undroppable again for the next 5 games

Unexpected superb effort.
Crap opponent, but we've not always let that stop us in the past!

Well done, and fingers crossed for a decent 5th round draw.
Ideally, the crappest team left in it, away!

A win against a team in League One who sit in the relegation zone doesn't mean anything and as for the scoreline against such a team it should be expected.
Disagree, We have slipped up on many occasions in the last few years by going into games like this with exactly the wrong mindset. Today, no arrogance, no showboating. A professional performance, regardless of who it is. Positives to be taken from any game if you look hard enough.

Decent performance against a very tired league 2 team. Hope this does not bring out more complacency. I thought our overall play was pretty basic, lots of backward and side way passes, still noone who can look for that killer ball. Gomes would have been class in this game, our forwards didnt really have the best service. I am not getting carried away with this win, I am still disappointed Ole didn't rest some of tbese lads and to bring on fred made no sense. There were some positives for me, Dalot was good as was Maguire and Matic. Once Maguire went off we looked flat with no one really willing to bring the ball forward and play a killer pass. Lingard for the first time in a year put a plus 3/10 performance, would give him a 5. Still a average player, baffles me how he is at a Prem team let one om 100k a week. Andreas was as usual, poor in possion, no technique and looks like a league one player.

Overall, solid win and got the job done which was needed. Hopefully Shrewsbury in the next round.

3-5-2 might be an interesting option for us until we get Pogba, Rashford and McTominay back, but not with Jones in that back 3. Maybe AWB as the third right sided CB, and Dalot as RWB? Probably the most attacking of all our full backs, and has a decent cross on him, looks rusty though.

Anyone else here kind of wishing we didn't get to the semis in the EFL cup. That loss to City really knocked the stuffing out of us and I feel like the 2nd leg on Wednesday is just a game we really could do without right now.

I gave them all 10's simply because it was like a trip back to the glorious 90's. The pitch, camera angles, mud and 6-0 score!

It’s undeniably good to win in such a manner but we must not forget who we were playing. This was Tyson Fury KOing a bantamweight.

It's a league one side but you still need to do the job. Professional performance by the team.

Bearing in mind our previous performances against the likes of Burton, Cambridge, Scunthorpe, MK Dons, Yeovil and Rochdale this was a surprisingly positive result.

6 month contract extension for Ole!

Attitude and effort has rightly been questioned lately, but cant fault it today.

All the media outlets hoping for the big upset but we rammed that down their throats after 15 minutes.

Nothing to get carried away with, but i'm happy enough City next.

This is what Manchester United about. Ruthless, skillful, attacking football.

It's only Tranmere but some of the finishing was great. The intensity and the majority or our passing was great for an awful pitch.

It was good to see the CB's drive forward.

I don't agree with people saying Pereira was bad, I thought he moved the ball and switched the play well. He has a low ceiling but I dont think he was bad at all. I though Chong and Lingard were worse.

Good to finally see a game with plenty of goals from us.

I don't understand the "found our level" comments. If we beat a team comfortably by 6 with a clean sheet, then we are clearly quite far above that level.
