I can't fecking wait. It all looks glorious.

Do echo the thoughts about Sephiroth being spoiled too early but I guess for a first part of a series they wanted to show more of him.

I mentioned that I thought the trailer was spoilery to my wife, but she just said (something close to) that no gamer who is remotely interested in the genre, including their partners who likely give zero fecks haven't heard something of the story or the main villain. She figured it's better to pander to the people who are actually going to buy the game, and I agree. :p

#notmyheidegger though, not fat enough.

Hopefully not too much, I enjoyed the build up to seeing him for the first time. His aura was built correctly in the original game.

So hyped for this game! This is the one that first introduced to RPG and its been a high standard to match! Any ideas on the new added content? The dark shadowy stuff surround Shinra? Intriguing that they decided to add to the story, but glad and hope the world is as fleshed out as im expecting for the trailers! :D

Fecking hell that looks class, the foreboding look at the reactor, the dirty grimy city. They're perfectly nailing the atmosphere and feel of Midgar.

This is one of those few times with a game I'm actually annoyed there are people out there playing this right now to review it.

Really feels like we're going to explore a LOT of Midgar, maybe even the whole city. Which is what I wanted so badly when I first played FF7.

I can only wonder how they'll manage being able to revisit it (if they'll even let you) in the future parts, no way they'll fit the whole city in with the other parts. Perhaps they'll just streamline it so you can only go through a very small part of it.

Gonna be ruined i can already tell will visually look amazing but fetch quests can be seen in screenshots already.

Should of kept strictly to the original game.

Have you ever considered the fact that you are an awful human being?

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon but with it being released on Good Friday will I have to wait until Tuesday for it to arrive?

Possibly. I’ll be preordering digital version and playing at midnight:angel:
That would have been the sensible idea but I picked RE3 as my digital purchase and I had a load of Amazon vouchers from Christmas so....I made my choice :( Hopefully It'll just give me enough time to platinum RE3 :D

Rumours that you’ll need 100gb (!) of space for the game install.
Wow! Read Dead levels of content then I'm hoping! So excited to finally explore more of Midgar. How do you think they will integrate the world map in later releases? Open world?

Just listening through the original soundtrack. It’s literally perfection. It’s hard to pick a favourite.

As an aside

DO NOT READ AHEAD IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THE ORIGINAL GAME, MAJOR SPOILER

SERIOUSLY DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THE ORIGINAL GAME! YOUR FIRST PLAYTHROUGH SHOULD BE A PURE ONE!

LAST CHANCE!

When do we think part 2 will end? I would be surprised if it wasn’t with Aeris’ death scene, as this is obviously a major part of the story and when the hunt for Sephiroth and the black material really takes off. It also turns into a story of revenge for Cloud. It’s a scene I’m not looking forward to in many ways as the original game always tears me up and in 4K HD it’s going to be even more emotional. I just hope they don’t play with it too much as the build up to her death and the battle with Jenova was excellent. The Cries of the Planet and Aeris’ theme tune are also incredible tracks that capture the mood and emotion perfectly.

I agree with part 2 ending with her death, it's a pretty powerful way to end a part. That would mean Kalm, Chocobo Farm, Mythril Mine, Junon, Costa del Sol, Mount Corel, Gold Saucer, Corel Prison, Gongaga, Cosmo Canyon, Nibelheim, Rocket Town, Temple of the Ancients, Bone Village and Forgotten Capital would all have to fit in that part. Which I think would be possible if it's going to be another 100GB game like part 1. There's the possibility that some of those areas will get cut or moved to part 3 somehow, but the majority of them are pretty small areas that won't need the huge expansion like Midgar will have in part 1.

Part 3 wouldn't have as many areas like part 2, but you would be revisiting Midgar so there's plenty of opportunity to expand there. Not to mention the various side quests (Wutai) and end game content (weapons).

I'm curious how and when the remaining party members will be introduced. Will they all be introduced in part 2? Who knows.

Only played FF15. I Loved it, great game. Looking forward to playing this now. My friend won’t shut up about it.

though I’m wondering should I wait at least a decade before I play the game? Seems kinda crap that they are only releasing a quarter or some of the game.Even if they are just seem to be filling it full of side quests. Rather play the whole game.

I'd agree with that. Assuming it's a 3 part game (I think anymore people will start to be put off), you could end Part 2 at Aeris' death which would leave Part 3 to cover The Journey to the The Great Glacier, The Great Glacier itself, The Crater and the Escape of the Weapons, Escape from Junon, Underwater Reactor, Return to Midgar and the End-Game. Still a hell of a lot to pack in though!

Maybe the open world looks different? Not all the locations will be in the places we remember.

Two continents, one for each of the sequels?

I originally thought something different and just past that point
(Cloud's major breakdown/the reveal of meteor and the weapons unleashed)
but I think you've got it right, that would be the best place to end part 2. These areas are going to be expanded so there's more than enough content in the areas you listed.

On a side note, I find it interesting to speculate where they might place Yuffie this time as I think the developers have said that she and Vincent will not be optional characters but will in fact join the party as mandatory/permanent fixtures. Vincent is obviously going to be found in the same place but I wonder if we''ll see Yuffie just past Kalm which is the earliest point you can get her in the original. She'll probably nick some good materia from us and we'll have to chase her all over the map

You've been missing out on a wonderful series. If the graphics of the current VII, VIII and IX are too dated for you, X is a great one to play.

Can confirm. Great OSTs too. @AaronRedDevil you probably know this but those games are all standalone so it doesn't matter what order you play them in. There are some games that are sequels/set in the same universe to others, but they're made obvious in the name like X-2 is a follow on to X.

Out of those VII and IX are my favourites, I never finished VIII or X mainly due to not really liking the characters.

I echo the poster above in recommending FF X as a nice one to try if you're relatively new to the series. It doesn't exactly have an open world like 15 and it is very linear but it has a great story and a great world.

I love FF but I've never played this one even though I owned it. Excited to see how it turns out.

For me X has probably aged the worst out of the lot because of the terrible voice acting. The PS games are generally timeless because of the rendered backgrounds and text only system. I guess X is probably more accessible overall, though I think the character system is actually more complex than IX.

Personally I'd say IX is the best one to start on. A bit easier to figure out than the others, great characters and story, nicer graphics than VII and VIII.

Also XII is underrated, just sayin'.
