Difference being rooney wouldn't go a year without a goal even if he was playing as deep as he does for DerbyLingard is putting in the same performances Rooney did before he left us and has been for sometime now. If Rooney is finished, so is Lingard. Our drop in standards means Rooney would still get games for us as a bit part player just as Lingard is.
i think at the end he - or his agent - admitted they were not seriously looking to leave but just looking for a big pay rise. It's just the timing was suspect so people ran with the 'questioning ambition' reasoning. I can't find the article that i remember reading which said similar. he ended up staying at least which was a damn sight better than seeing Ronaldo flirt every summer with Madrid and then say he is a slave. Can't believe people still get mad about Rooney's transfer requests. At the end of the day, he stayed until the club sent him out.
He was never so bad considering the dross we are still playing and tolerating 3 years after he left. Players like Lingard and Pereira are being tolerated and it took 5 years for Lingard for example to get called on, you also see Fred getting praised for absolute average performances regularly nowadays. Because it was Rooney it was "so so bad".He was so so bad for the last 3 seasons on that crazy contract and every week pundits refusing to comment on the elephant in the room. He’s a legend and it wasn’t his fault Moyes/Ed offered him that mega deal but even by then he was clearly on the decline.
Rooney was never this bad, people should stop peddling that shit. A 34 year old Rooney is still better than Lingard. People were looking at his enormous wage and judging him by that.Lingard is putting in the same performances Rooney did before he left us and has been for sometime now. If Rooney is finished, so is Lingard. Our drop in standards means Rooney would still get games for us as a bit part player just as Lingard is.
"Hello Wayne! Thanks so much for joining us on what must have been a long and emotional day"
Wayne: "I wouldn't say that erm.. you know.. Manchester United are a good team, it's a good chance for our young players..."
I may be weak and petty af, but my heart is broken and will remain broken until a true red breaks his record. It was an arranged marriage with that guy, from beginning to end
Yeah I miss that diagonal ball to Valencia 30 times a game too.Rooney at age 34 and having come back from playing in America, is still levels ahead of Lingard and Pereira. Let that sink in.
I miss his passing range so much.
NonsenseRooney was never this bad, people should stop peddling that shit. A 34 year old Rooney is still better than Lingard. People were looking at his enormous wage and judging him by that.
He's really not. He tried tracking back mid way though the second half and, despite starting off closer to the ball carrier, he ended up miles back being taken over by his teammates.Rooney was never this bad, people should stop peddling that shit. A 34 year old Rooney is still better than Lingard. People were looking at his enormous wage and judging him by that.
Agree: if Lingard and Pereira get games, Rooney would above them. The reason Lingard gets games primarily is supposed to be down to his movement off the ball and linking midfield with the attack, but his technical level has nosedive this season, which makes him a liability as he causes so many attacks to break down at his feet.Rooney is still easily better than both Lingard and Pereira so he would 100% still get games for United because those two complete jokers still do .
Rooney is one of Uniteds greatest players in the past 20 years and his name will always be remembered in United history .
The best teenager ive ever seen in my life
Agree. What beard! His beard is absolutely magnificent
I agree, it’d also be disrespectful to Derby to gush over us in an interview after they’ve lost 3-0 at home.Did you miss the interviews before the match saying he loves the club and still goes to the games.
Swear people see what they want to see
The connection between Rooney and United fans was never really there. Always forced. Manufactured.Did you miss the interviews before the match saying he loves the club and still goes to the games.

He was an Everton fan all along and we paid him huge sums of money to play for us, those are matters of fact, but he gave us everything while he was here and is our all-time record goalscorer. What more would you have liked him to do on the pitch? The connection between Rooney and United fans was never really there. Always forced. Manufactured.
You'd be deluded to think otherwise.
On the pitch, nothing. He was an Everton fan all along and we paid him huge sums of money to play for us, those are matters of fact, but he gave us everything while he was here and is our all-time record goalscorer. What more would you have liked him to do on the pitch?
Or that ball over the top to RvP to smash it home against VillaYeah I miss that diagonal ball to Valencia 30 times a game too.
Fair enough if the contract machinations and the 'questioning of ambition' episode left a sour taste, you're certainly not the only one there. But considering this is a player the club wanted to bring in, that Fergie made a mainstay of arguably the greatest era of the club's history, I just wonder how Rooney can remain an outsider (one who had his name sung for half an hour straight by United fans last night while he played against us) and at what point in his stellar United career we should have got rid so that a 'true red' could have taken his place? On the pitch, nothing.
I just also value off-the-pitch behaviour.
Although Rooney is nowhere near United quality (he wasn't that even at the time he was sold, let alone years later) there's no way in hell he would've gone whole year with 0 goals and 0 assists like Lingard did.The last statement is true. The first statement is not. Lingard and Pereira are both a level above him right now as bad as they both are.

Unreal post. Love itClown
Yeah his legs did go 3 years ago, but compared to Lingard what is the point of having legs when they are just as useless as a barging poll? There was an instance Lingard tried to track back last night and ended up on his arse, I bet Rooney did more contributions easily against a better team that is.He's really not. He tried tracking back mid way though the second half and, despite starting off closer to the ball carrier, he ended up miles back being taken over by his teammates.
His legs went 3 years ago never mind now
He did do one of those passes to a Derby wide player who made an excellent cross and the following header just missed the goal.Yeah I miss that diagonal ball to Valencia 30 times a game too.
Too right! The connection between Rooney and United fans was never really there. Always forced. Manufactured.
You'd be deluded to think otherwise.
You and a few others have such a pathetic agenda, it's hard to believe I still read shite like this on a Manchester United forum."Hello Wayne! Thanks so much for joining us on what must have been a long and emotional day"
Wayne: "I wouldn't say that erm.. you know.. Manchester United are a good team, it's a good chance for our young players..."

Right on. He's a club legend and club record goalscorer.Wayne Rooney is one of the most recognised and beloved Man United legends across the whole world.
The fact that a few wankers online still hold some pathetic grudges means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.
In fairness didn't he make it clear from day one he will always be an Evertonian first and foremost?"Hello Wayne! Thanks so much for joining us on what must have been a long and emotional day"

No I wouldn't simply because of the space we afforded him on the ball last night, plus I remember very well the performances he was giving in his last season. We rightfully let him go, club legend but I'm not with those who think he could still do a job.A true club legend and people seem to be forgetting just how fantastic he was for the club and how hard he worked.
I genuinely believe if he stayed he could have still done a decent job- would you have him over lingard or Pereira right now?...
