Imagine me coming on here claiming that in those years you won the league & we finished in a CL spot. @Feed Me would run out of laughter emoji's.
No. Can you not comprehend the point that from a financial perspective other teams have more to gain that Liverpool.

difference is no one is going to celebrate it like Arsenal and Liverpool fans did.

the implications For Aston Villa for example are far more important than for Liverpool. But again, just think about your little bubble.

BBC NEWS ticker:

Restriction should continue ‘most of a year’
Policies to limit the spread of coronavirus would need to be in place for "at least most of a year" to prevent intensive care units being overwhelmed, according to official scientific advice to the government.
The documents, prepared by the UK's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), said alternating between more and less strict measures could "plausibly be effective at keeping the number of critical care cases within capacity".
Would be a hell of a surprise if we manage to finish the league this summer.

No surprise.

An Act of God as they say.

Its highly unlikely any court will award compensation to clubs impacted by this.

I doubt clubs will even bother going to court.
you would have to be a club with zero awareness and a level of arrogant self importance to take any legal action.

mind you a can think of a football club that fist this criteria:D:houllier:

That is wishful thinking on your part especially if many of these clubs face bankruptcy and hundreds of jobs lost

Why?

So all that from the media, fans and all saying clubs should take cups more seriously?

United have a chance to win a trophy and get to the CL via EL. How is that less important than Liverpool winning the league?

Did anybody in the UK horse racing industry take a case against the British horseracing authority when they cancelled racing in 2001 due to the foot and mouth crisis? No.

The authorities had no choice but to cancel racing.

This is laughable. Your team has one youth player in it. It's not been built anything like United's. Your club is awful at youth development.

The whole post is a mess. Dear me.
I take it you didn't see the game where Liverpool's youth team beat the Everton first team this season then? Players like Henderson and Gomez obviously didn't come through Liverpool's youth team but have developed from good youth prospects in to first choice players in a Champions League winning side.

Good point. Henderson and Gomez are also Premier League winners*, lest we forget.

You're taking credit for developing Henderson?

So basically they’re not Liverpool’s youth and the comparison to our sides under Fergie is pointless and delusional.
It’s alright to have built a good side without relying on your youth players, not every side can be Fergies United.

So, its fine to cancel the Euros, cancel the Cups, the Champions League and the Europa League, as long as we can play out the Premier League title procession!? Many clubs would just treat it as a pre-season, it would be a farce
Yeah but it would make the media happy as a Liverpool win is all but guaranteed.

Surely football won't be the same anymore? Many of the big European footballing nations are now affected, and would take years to recover economically. And football is already one expensive hobby for us fans. There will be a big loss in interest and momentum, as sport won't be a priority of us fans? The players ought to be sympathic and take pay cuts, and donate money whenever possible...

I would guess horse racing teams weren't in danger of going bankrupt and affect far fewer people than sports clubs. I don't know much about horse racing or that crisis so I can't really weigh in.

Yeah, finishing the season off is petty much out of the question at this point unless we see a dramatic change in circumstances. Worse still, the start of next season is now looking doubtful.

Grim indeed.

Of course. He’s a youth team product of LFC. Who they paid £20m for.
You're taking credit for developing Henderson?
I'd say he has developed in to a much better player than the one that joined us at 20 years old?

Do you not think players can develop past 20, or if they do it's only because of what happened previously?

Back on topic and Gary Neville has suggested that players would play 9 games in 9 days if they had to, to finish the season. Is he a delusional bin dipper now?

Why has this thread become about Liverpool? Isn't there a Liverpool thread?
The Liverpool fans are making it about them with their relentless whining about league titles, fairness and @Feed Me.

They've lost sight of the real football-related concerns right now, such as a great many clubs outside the PL potentially going bankrupt as a result matchday revenue losses.

But league titles or something.

Do you honestly believe that anyone in this thread gives any number of shits about Liverpool's youth team?

Jesus wept.

Sure, you’ve developed him well. He’s not a youth team player though.

Second paragraph is spot on. They’re so self absorbed with their own situation and to hell with everyone else. There’s clubs lower down the ladder that are in danger of going bust, and anyone related to LFC with an ounce of self awareness should recognise this and stop making it all about them.

The bit that makes me laugh is how genuinely offended some of them are that United fans find the potential for them not to win the league hilarious.

You also have some spanners claiming the league is bent because of what is happening.

but he's right because saying "Man Utd have far more to gain that Liverpool if the league is restarted" is just trolling and you know that.
Anyway no matter what the decision will be somebody is going to be screwed over and I'm not sure if voiding the season will be the most fair solution.
tell me how that’s incorrect from a financial perspective? It’s not trolling at all.

Integrity of the league. Liverpool must be awarded the title. La.

something like that?

hopefully some people can finally start to see the gravity of the challenge the country faces.

Soooo...
Finish Season - Massive boost financially especially to lower clubs, have a clear list of winners and relegated teams, all obligations that clubs have completed, players contracts sorted, next season not as impacted, means that coronovirus is in check,
Not finish season - coronovirus likely out of control, life fkd, but...Liverpool not champions

hmmmmmm........ decisions, decisions.

Seems like Henry Winter really isn't letting this one go.

Little snippet from the article:

Why are some people getting so fussed about a distant, unformed 2020-21 when this suspended, suspense-filled 2019-20 campaign, with all its drama and its destiny that will define the following year
Oh i don't know Henry, i can think of a few mate. There's a few journalists banging the same drum, but he's the loudest by far .Also, maybe it's just a coincidence that he keeps using a picture of the scousers in these Tweets where he's vociferously advocating for the League to continue no matter what? Wonder what his motivations are.

He's being completely irrational in all of this.

The one saying the season will resume on April 30th?

I'm not sure anyone at the FA is even qualified to make that statement, especially since health officials are saying the effects of this virus could last up to 18 months.

So, can't we agree that literally everyone agrees that public health goes first and there's nothing funny about the virus, but that i) Utd fans would find it an hilarious side effect if we don't win it and ii) most Liverpool fans are, in subordinate order, desperate to get the season finished? I don't see anything wrong with that.
This is enough to close this thread. Past 116 pages its just been a regurgitating of this. Arguing the same point over and over again. Nothing new has really developed, and its just new people picking up the argument. I've had some good dialog with some of you, but I must say, there are some that are just plain irritating on here.
