A fully fit Rashford finishes off the Pogba chance. Same with Martial,,need game time. Today will help and it also showed glimpses of what could be. Spurs will struggle looks like to win every match from now on.

Do we give DeGea the excuse of rustiness , as outfield players are allowed to be rusty?
We should but its not the first time hes made mistakes this season

Moaning about not having the squad he needs to compete, of course. When has he ever said anything else!
He had zero options to change stuff up front from the bench due to losing Dele and Lucas. That's all he was saying and he is right.

We pass the ball too much for a team with players who struggle to pass. Build up is slow as a result, leaving our attackers with little to work with.

I'm usually a big fan of him but I thought Wan Bissaka was dreadful going forward today. I often think it's an unfair accusation people level at him but there must have been three or four times he got it and did nothing of any worth today.

Other than that, good to see Pogba looking fighting fit and the unbeaten run goes on. Spurs away was never going to be a walk in the park!

Onwards!

Few points I took

1) Greenwood has to start over James from now on.

2) Jury is still out on who should be the third midfielder playing with Bruno and Pogba. I think we might end up needing a DM

3) We need another creative midfielder. Bruno and Pogba are starters but if one of them is excluded like we've seen today we will struggle to beat low blocks

Everybody looked off and rusty, Pogba was an obvious class above.

Would have been better off with Mata RW early on.

As January signings go , you won't get much better than Bruno. He has been phenomenal so far.

Funny he pointed to uniteds bench and listed our players, many of whom are from the academy or on loan.

Can't be too harsh on the lads. The players were always going to be rusty, following the three month lay off.

In terms of the game, I think we started the game better. By no means great, but certainly the team that was playing with intent. Following the drink break, Spurs scored and that more of less killed the rest of the half.

Started the second half a lot better and created some decent chances. Felt Greenwood and Pogba changed the game. Added a much-needed tempo and quality, which we saw when Pogba won the penalty.

Felt our quality dropped a bit when we equalized. I think if we were that little less sloppy, we could have won that game, but as I said, rustiness was to be expected, and all in all, it's not a bad result.

We need to push on from here and really make a statement. Sheff Utd will be a tough game, but in regards to teams in and around us, I think that's the only game we have. Massive game. Need a win!

A rusty Martial and Rashford, as well as a De Gea cock up away from winning that comfortably.

Not sure why the clamour for criticising the substitution timings either. Their goal came against the run of play, and just when we looked like we were on the ascendancy. After the goal we retreated into our shell a bit, but came back strong in the second half and should have really equalised before Pogba came on.

Overall, I can't be mad and looking at the run-ins of the clubs around us, I'd back us to get Top 4. Today was a free hit. Even if we'd lost, I'd have backed us to at least push Chelsea close, but at the very least, keeping that gap between us and Spurs was just as important for today.

Can't complain about the result. Jose had a long time to prepare for this match. Dan James still championship quality. Pogba Bruno partnership will be lit. De Gea really messes up basic goalkeeping decisions. Martial and rashford still rusty.

If we so desperately need Fred & McTominay on the field, then ask them to only break up play and play Pogba as the #10 and have Fernandes work from the right.
You want to move our best player out of position?

That sporting fan described him perfectly, brave, a leader, loses the ball a fair amount because he tries things, shoots a lot but they’re almost always good efforts, can see why he bangs in over 20 a season.

Frustrating but I loved every minute. United actually for larger parts dominated Spurs in a away game. That’s progress.

Key point

Once again our defense in special situations looked shaky. Maguire made two awful push ups decisions apart from his blunder at the first goal. Lindelof is a curious case. He’s not bad but still you feel irritated with his performance.

When we needs to create chances against tight defenses McT has his limitations. Today wasn’t his best game so I will be soft with to much criticism.

Daniel James. Not.

Apart from that a great game. Pogba and Bruno makes me look forward to the future.

Definitely deserved a point if not all 3 especially after the second half performance.

Really enjoyed Pogba’s performance when he came on and excited to see how him and Fernandes develop in midfield over the next few games. Greenwood should be ahead of James on the right now, James is ineffective when there’s no space in behind.

Amazed Kane played the whole game for Spurs he looked to be running on fumes.

Frustrating game. 2 points lost there. Catalogue of errors from players and manager, but being the first game back, might be unfair to be too critical. If we play to this level and higher for the remaining games, we should win most if not all of them. Need to be quicker too. We move the ball so damn slowly!

Was on the pitch as well mate. What was there to talk about Spurs? They covered the goal. Spurs did nothing else.
There was about as much to talk about Spurs as there was to talk about Utd it's just we heard nothing about Spurs the entire game and everybody was gutted when we managed to get in the lead.

They were luuuuuucky.
Any other day and one of the 5 chances goes in.
Rashford first chance, Rashford's missed header, Martial's strike, heck even Bruno to Martial, Bruno's long range effort, Greenwood's strike.

Cant complain about the draw I guess but Im excited about things to come.
Also yeah Pogba and Greenwood need to start from now on. Greenwood especially looks like a different player now, he is stronger so he is dribbling around the field with more confidence, underrated performance by him.

If we do end up getting Sancho I do believe Greenwood is ready to start over Martial as soon as next season.

Agree about Kane - he looked a player who hasnt played in months - but it's good he got a full 90 mins and hopefully will get a bit more match fit over the next 2 or 3 games.

Not sure how people think we deserved the win. We had one shot on target other than the penalty. They had one shot on target as well.

Tottenham cut through our midfield with ease to get near our box. We were fortunate that Lamela had such a bad final ball or they could have a one-on-one with De Gea three times tonight.

They only played defensive for ten minutes or so, but adapted well to Pogba. But, you cannot consistently stop a player of Pogba's quality.

Rashford was pretty anonymous, McTominay was awful, Maguire was poor, De Gea poor, Shaw was not great.
1 shot on target!!...I think you need to watch it back

Almost fully agree, but I'd back us to get Top 4 now. 5 points the gap if Chelsea win tomorrow but they still have City and Liverpool to play and Sheffield Utd and Wolves.

Spurs was the hardest game in our run-in, and Sheffield Utd is another one, but as we play Leicester on the final day, I'd back us to get what we need for Top 4 if we know what's needed.

Pogba starts, Greenwood starts and next year, Henderson starts.
This season will settle alot of debates that we may have had going into next season earlier than expected. It's almost like a stress test in a sense. My predictions are that Greenwood will be in line to takeover from a sulking Martial, Bruno and Pogba make Fred and Mctominay seemingly redundant, watch the space on Mctominay at centre back and that Sancho/Grealish coming in will boost our productivity on the right.

We really need a third playmaker in the team and regardless of how good Rashford is on the left, him adapting/regularly alternating flanks may be necessary given the dearth in our build up play.

A lot of sideways passing and quite static strikers for too long but they have been out of game practice for a while so onward and upward. DdG looked ropey for the goal, Mag's and Lindy looked like they were strangers, Shaw wanting to go forward wrong times and AwB looking rusty with his ball control. James looked bad and Fred was well off his game. Others were so-so.

What you think of Jose's tactics tonight? Used to infuriate me when we went 1-0 up and he'd retreat.

Sounds simplistic.

Matić has been dog shite for long periods.

Would be fun to try those three together if all properly fit at the same time.

We are comfortably a better team I feel.
However Pogba and Greenwood have to start. Even say we end up getting Sancho, Greenwood stll has to start, Martial out then.
Also Maguire and Lindelof are probably not a good pairing never were dont complement each other at all. We are probably stronger with Baily or even Smalling instead of Lindelof

Both teams were very poor, second half we improved in phases but still very rusty. A draw is pretty much reflective of the game and not a bad result for us given the run in.

Just seen the penalty for the first time. He went to quite hard for having his arm pushed ! I think I would be mad to have that given against us.

If you had given me the draw before the game I would have taken it. But it still feels 2 points dropped.
