As someone else has said, Sane is a better player so it isnt even a step forward talent wise. But makes me wonder, how can they get such a yougn exciting player for a price like that and we dotn seem able to make any bargain signings unless its a not very exciting or talented player from the championship? We havent done a great bargain deal in a very very long time now
I think it's due to the calibre of the players we are after. We have a lot of promising young players coming through the academy.

Ricardo Quaresma is also leaving his club (Kasimpasa).

Translation:
We would like to thank our captain Ricardo Quaresma for his efforts to our club and wish him success in his new career.
Well, that was short.

You’re not following along. Just because CAS found them innocent, doesn’t mean they are. I refuse to accept any oil clubs deals at face value.

Yes. Watching him in MLS, he played entirely as a winger or even as a wide forward. The conversion to LB has been incredible - really excellent managerial instincts to see his potential there and make the positional change.
He did play quite a bit of wingback in a 352 at Vancouver. He was excellent there as well, though he wasn't defending a lot. Saw him live when Vancouver visited Atlanta. We won 4-1 but he absolutely dominated that flank at age 17, was insane how easily he got past players.

Thanks for linking the video - he was unreal in the MLS. I wish I had seen him live myself while he was still playing for the Whitecaps. For the couple of years that he was in the league, it made being a Sounders fan harrowing stuff (between Portland and Vancouver, we had our hands very full up the I-5 corridor).

Dont worry city will offset this bargain by wasting another 50-60 million on a flop fullback.

If they are taking over all of his wages, yeah probably yes. Typical Italian clubs behaviour though
Yeah but if they sign him then obviously they'll be paying his wages, it's like they feel they're doing us a favour by signing him (which obviously they are but still, piss take )

If Villa are going to stick at £80 million for Grealish, would Eriksen be the worst signing in the world to have some quality and rotation?

He is only 28, and if Inter don’t fancy him and £50 million is their valuation, then surely a deal for about £35 mil + Sanchez can be reached and everyone is happy.

That tweet quoting 50 million for Eriksen is from August 2019.

Sanchez-Eriksen straight swap, without cash component

Would make a lot of sense actually. We need an attacking midfielder who can provide width and competition. You'd assume the Inter stay has been a humbling experience for Eriksen, and that he would be more open to being a rotational player at United, as well as having fewer suitors at our level. Could be a shrewd signing if they're looking to offload at a good price.

Didn’t realize that, but I had read last week that he maybe wasn’t settling there. It might be a way to negotiate with Sanchez and get a cheaper option than Grealish.

I don’t think that’s going to happen. Eriksen is 4 years younger and probably on half the wage. Sanchez would be nothing more than a makeweight to get a cheaper deal (and kill two birds by getting his wage off our books)

I think so too mate. Eriksen is flexible tactically and would offer an option of real quality. There are certainly enough games to keep him happy and if he hits the ground running you would have an asset worth far more than what you would potentially have to pay for him.

Teams like Man City and Chelsea will boast quality like that on their bench next season, we should too.

Milan's director Frederic Massara is confident about renewing Ibra's contract (he goes as far as saying that he doesn't need to deal with Raiola). Donnarumma's a different matter, but they have time on their side and are willing to satisfy him.

Lazio Sporting director Igli Tare responds to rumours that link David Silva to Lazio:

Translated key quotes:
He is a great player, but I don't know where these rumours are born. I knew from mutual friends that he would like experiences outside of England after 10 years, but between saying and doing that [acquiring David Silva's services] is the sea [i.e. a distant possibility].

Osimhen's transfer to Napoli is pretty much done, but Bouhafsi and Romano are reporting different pay structures:

Translation:
1st Tweet:
It's finally done! All of the documents are signed. Osimhen is a Napoli player. LOSC [Lille] should formalise his departure soon. As announced here a few days ago, the transfer [fee] is 70 million Euros + 10 million Euros bonus. [The] Contract [is] until 2025 + 1 year player option.

2nd Tweet:
In my [previous] Tweet this weekend, I mentioned 60 + 20, but it's actually 70 + 10 bonus. The transfer payments will be spread over his 5 years in Napoli. This was Gattuso's top priority.

So Romano's reporting 50 million Euros + bonuses vs. 70 + 10 million Euros from Bouhafsi. Regardless, that's a ton of money from Napoli.

He took his Spurs form with him to Inter. Looks worn out. He s 28 but looks 34.
It is a concern admittedly, but surely there has to still be a player in there a t that age. It would be a pretty inexplicable fall from grace otherwise.

Am I the only one who likes/rates Richarlison?
I feel he'd be a good addition to many a team, deceptively technical for a work-horse type style.
He is great, but at the price Everton would sell for, he would have to be a big sides marquee signing. Everton won’t be accepting 50-60 million anytime soon.

@mazhar13 the early MVP of this thread. Nice to check in and see what’s been going on. I sense a tagline in the near future for you, my friend.

Holy crap... that’s early 2000s money. Incredible deal even if he has only a year on his contract.
I'm not so sure that this is necessarily the final fee. Various reliable reporters have reported fees from 20-25 million pounds + bonuses. Regardless, it's still a great deal for City, and they've taken full advantage of Valencia's plight.

That’s the advantage of having a Sporting Director. He will have his ears to the ground and will know who to poach and how.

I rate him. His agent said we bid for him in January didn’t he?
Yea forgot about that, googled it now, there was at least one article in the Manchester Evening News where there are claims that United and Barca were among those inquiring.
As @Maluco points out though, if it's to pay stupid money for a player that is not a definitive starter I'd keep away. For 40 + bonuses though, I'd like him part of the squad, really like his work ethic.
