Anybody blaming any player other than lindelof for that goal is absolutely mad. There is not even the smallest excuse for why he's watching a cross pass him without even moving enough to disrupt the strikers line of sight of ball. Awful awful defending

On the first goal he had the attacker on the sideline but didn't tackle and let him wait to find Reguilon on overlap who found Suso for the goal. On the 2nd goal, his lack of height and anticipation of the deflected cross meant the ball bounced to the FEET of De Jong who scored the goal.

He was never good enough for us, someone should look into who recommended the transfer. Needs to leave.

Yup but he didn't even attempt to block it. First rule as a defender, don't delegate when you can mop it up. Wtf was he thinking letting that cross pass him by without even an attempt to block it.

He is just a shite CB. We need to upgrade him quickly. Him and AWB are just not good enough for where we aspire to be.
To be honest not a single player at the back is good enough for where we aspire to be.

How? How? How? What's a right back to do if he is behind him? He has to cover the space behind him. The other guy who cuts the line just drops it and lets the ball fall to De Jong' feet. The keeper should have read this as well.
AWB was clearly marking him, and just let him go.

Lindelöf could have done better, should have really, but twice AWB let his man run away from him to give away goals

Cost us the game. Again.

he has 1 job, nobody else in the box and he isn’t anywhere near the man, what a joke.
Completely disagree with those saying it was AWB's fault. Their centre forward scored pretty much from the centre of the box, you could blame AWB if an inside forward had darted in and scored but the centre back has to do better in this situation.

Didnt get across the near post again, but awb just left his man
That isn’t AWB man. Since when does the RB mark a striker on crosses

Lindelöf literally has nobody else to worry about. He just stood there looking gormless and cost us yet again.

I can understand his frustration towards AWB but he has to jump for that. Bailly would have went for it even if he knew Slabhead was going for the same ball behind him

Its in the middle of the goal. Its Lindelof's job unless he's marking someone else. There was nobody else to take care of, he just ball watched

AWB is marking the player. Doesnt matter who it was. He had the player which Lindelof saw. Lindelof should do better and cut out the cross

What he did in the 2nd goal was laughable, played the attacker onside, and didn't even put any pressure on him.

Bingo.

Not for one second am I having that because AWB is standing behind him for a second that Lindelöf should just forget about him. I think maybe these Lindepoofs need to see a replay.

I've tried to defend him but today is the last straw. At fault for the second goal and then to blame Fernandes when it ha dnothing to do with him is just absurd.

Run away? He is the right back. He covers behind him if there's a stray guy running behind. In the middle, the Centre backs have to cover or cut the lanes. He was always behind him because that's where he's supposed to be.

Can we sell him? Keep Smalling, sell Lindelof, blood Mengi in for the next couple of years?

I'm sick of him. It's easy to look good on the ball as a half decent player when you're a centre back but when you can't actually defend, wtf are you even doing as a centre back?

That was an example of why so many people aren't convinced by Lindolof. He can look like such a classy defender but he has moments like that where he's just way too passive and he switches off. Was proper Sunday league defending on that goal. What was he actually doing? He wasn't marking the man or the space. Was basically pointless being there.

When your standing beside him. Im not even sure lindeloff knew he was there which is a problem itself. But awb was virtually holding his hand just before the cross came in, which williams made ni effort to stop.

All 3 at fault

Fully agreed. Both him and AWB should be nothing more than stop gap measures.

Yes, and Lindelöf told him to feck off. At the end of the day, Lindelöf is to blame
He's always talked more than he's defended. I remember him having a go at Fred last season when he was a new player trying to settle

Criminally passive for that goal. I think AWB should have been closer as well, both did nothing.

Shaw and Maguire are good enough. Hopefully Laird lives up to his promise else we have just put 50 mil down the gutter on AWB.

CB is a critical area to upgrade for us. We need a RW, CB at the bare minimum. If not Sancho, we need to move on to other targets instead of twiddling our thumbs.

He's rubbish. Fed up of people pretending he's going to be good enough. He isn't.

Another classic Lindelof-moment. "Good game except for the mistake"...

It’s a little over reaction. He made a big mistake that cost a goal. The rest was good. Three forwards made 5 mistakes that cost one goal each.

Ball watching. He does it far too often, and it costs.

I have nothing else to say about him. He is dead to me

Even if he sees AWB picking up De Jong, why isn't he being proactive and taking him off him!?

I swear sometimes it's as if he doesn't really enjoy defending

And.. I'm expecting the same suspects will be defending Lindelof.
