Official: City's Yangel Herrera goes on yet another loan spell to La Liga with Valencia having missed out on a potential Ferran Torres replacement.

If Laurie Whitwell's reporting this, then the negotiations must be at a very advanced stage.

Also, post #10000 :D

EDIT: Either we have a brief, or the United-linked journalists are relaying info from other journalists. However, they wouldn't be reporting this if things weren't going far ahead.

EDIT 2: Yup, confirmed brief

Yea, this one has been very smooth, congrats to United.

Who would have guessed that deals move quick when you offer exactly what the other club is asking?

If you always paid the asking price you’d always be taken for mugs....some deals are easier than others, some require negotiation

Indeed! That's why it's difficult to get too upset at losing a 16 year old.

The only academy kids we've lost/let go who have gone on to do well are Declan Rice and maybe Eddie Nketiah (probably more that I can't remember!).
Yeah, don’t waste your time. Focus on what a Chelsea team with De Bruyne and Salah would look like. ;)

There were some links forming between Vidal and Juve. They started when Vidal talked about being happy to play under Pirlo.

However, this might be impossible as Juve apparently don't have room in their squad for non-EU players.

Romano himself mentioned that Inter are leading the way for Vidal, anyways.

The other benefit for them is that there are no other clubs to compete against. Real Madrid have backed off after their finances took a hit, and Zidane would rather make use of Ceballos or Odegaard for next season. Barcelona were never in contention despite what some would say. This is the kind of transfer that big clubs typically make in order to improve their squads.

The only way this can go wrong now is if another club comes in at the last second with an improved bid.
Similar to Chelsea and their signings this season I suppose.
Who'd have thought it!

I love how Donny signing for 40 million euros automatically becomes 40 million pounds when reported by the English press.

At £35 million pound this is a signing that literally can not go wrong! Adds quality depth and gives Ole the cover he needs to say good bye to a few more of the deadwood.

AGAIN AT "35" MILLION POUNDS IT IS AN AMAZING DEAL!!!!

The British media are including the supposed bonuses in the fee. 40 + 5 in bonuses is approximately equal to 35 + 5, but the British media would rather report the highest possible fee for us.

Seems that whole "nobody but the big boys will be able to spend" this summer narrative is kaput. The likes of Leeds and Everton seem to be going big and backing their managers. I'm sure other PL clubs will be going into overdrive as well as the season approaches rapidly.

Absolute bullshit. VDB’s agent has been trying to sell this player through the media to Europe’s top clubs for over a year now. Woody dumb enough to fall for it. Sad.
It’s bullshit because you’re not a fan of this signing..

Real and Barca have supposedly been on the verge of signing him for 12 months now, all of a sudden United are forced into action. Absolute bollocks. Madrid are signing no one and Barca are desperately trying to retain Messi.
